Enjoyed the episode y’all. I was out in De Soto last weekend doing some riding myself. I also noticed the locked gate issue. I’m Building a rig. Doing some shake downs before venturing to far. Hope I run into y’all one weekend.
That looked like an awesome trip. Would love to get up with you guys one day and ride. Jeremy and his families ZJ are awesome as well. Been out with them once :)
First of all that opening was the best cinematography y'all have ever had! Second the latest episode of Engine Master's is about the best late model hemi engine to use, so y'all should definitely check it out (spoiler: go '09 or later and don't use a carburetor, although that should go without saving).
We’re planning one soon. Life’s been busy but hopefully within the next couple months we’re gonna do something. We’ll notify everyone early enough to plan. It’s gonna be a good time!
What are your top recommendations for camping and off-roading in Desoto? Any coordinates or directions you’d be willing to share, especially to that water crossing? I’ll be down that way next week to do just that. I’ve camped several times at Airey Lake and done a handful of the dirt roads right around it, but nothing else. We’ve got two boys (2 and 1) and will have a girl in October and we camp in our Smittybilt XL Gen2
The water crossing we did was on FR440- it may not be high in a few days- but after some rains it’ll probably be up again. Near Airey Lake FR440 is nice and 420 and all it’s offshoots have several nice views. Nothing technical- but that’s where we were on Monday.
That was the best Monday evening after work in a long time. Enjoyed our encounter!
We enjoyed it to man, looking forward to meeting again!
