The porches are my favorite area of the home and the kitchen. It’s all amazing and fantastic .

In the South that porches would be painted “haint” blue. The color was supposed to confused ghosts or evil spirits so they didn’t go in the house. It is also said that insects won’t go into the house and wasps won’t build nests. I don’t know if it works, but it’s tradition.
I have also seen shiny pennies in baggies of water placed at doorways to keep flies out. I saw this done in a horse stable and I can say there were only 3-4 flies in the barn. I was pretty impressed.

For any porch, you should start by making it comfortable- add a ceiling fan and a place for refreshments, then just decorate it like you would a room.

So glad you like it. My porch is entirely screened in so I don't really have problems with wasps or mosquitoes. Thanks for tuning in!

Looks nice but setup is a bit hospital-like. lol. Would love to see ideas for small back porches... say 10' X 10' ... I have a backporch i never go out to because it's empty and I have no idea what to cheaply do with it.
