I have this kit from 30 years ago that is about 1/2 finished, sea worthy but haven't completed the details. I was thinking of selling it, but after watching your video, I may get back to work.
Definitely try to finish the model. It’s a huge amount of work but such an awesome model when completed. This boat runs so perfectly in the water as well.
Beautiful work man. I think I talked to you earlier about another boat. I just ordered the Happy Hunter, which is a 40" Salvage Tug. Can't wait to see yours in the water.
Thanks for the nice comment and hope you see my video of the Darby in the water. I almost built the Happy Hunter but decided on the Mister Darby. Can’t wait to see yours when it is completed. Enjoy the build.
Another excellent model -wow! You have many very different RC boats and ships, which happens to be my "taste" in RC as well. May I also thank you for your video's Robert, they are a pleasure to view - keep em comin'!
You have done a beautiful job of building this boat! love your attention to details and your excellent layout of motors, controls and labeling! Very tastefully done! Hope you get many years of enjoyment from your efforts! =D=
I only run in calm lake water and so far no water has come over the sides plus the pipes on the deck are like a barrier. I also have the electronics plate smaller than the deck opening so if water comes over it runs between the hatch opening and the electronics plate. All three speed controls are waterproof and the rudder servo is also water proof. That was my design.
What a great project , 8 years to build ......wow
Very tidy work. Looks great! You did a fine job on it. You have admirable skills as a modeler.
Thanks for watching and for the nice comments.
Great looking Mr Darby, neat and clean work
Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching.

This is amazing. Reminds me of my Navy days. Your attention to detail is explicitly astonishing. The horn was pretty cool! Great job Rob!
It's too bad they didn't sell this one anymore. I should have bought it when i had the chance.
Today is your lucky day because Harbor Models bought the molds and sells the Mister Darby kit. Check out the Harbor Models website.
The boat looks great, I have one like that as well, I built it in the late 80's and I still have it, it was one of my favorite builds.

Thanks for watching. I always wanted to build this tug and finally got it done. It looks and runs great in the pond.
This is a work of art, beautiful!
Five Hundred THUMBS UP !! Beautiful craftsmanship. I build just like that.
Thanks for watching. Love to see your models.
As far as I can see, all the paint used is matte, right?
Yes flat and white is semi gloss.
@@robertschmidtrcmodelboats6483 So you decided that semi-gloss white would be closer to the original color of the superstructure?
OK, thanks anyway.
Yes
Nothing short of an excellent job
Wow awesome job great tug boat rc model
Udah disubscrbe dan👍 dan🔔🔔
What brand of the bow thruster did you use (I just didn't catch it)?
Bow thruster is a Marx 12v from Harbor Models.

The ship was big and cool. I like it...!!!
Thanks for watching, I always wanted to build this tug and had the chance to get on the real tug a few years ago.
Neat boat!!
Very nice attention to detail!!

That’s funny. That RC boat has my name on it. Darby.
Wow your boat is nice I have one I’ve owned all my life got it in 95 getting ready to go back in the water soon
Awesome. Need a freighter to push?
Thanks for watching and I plan to build a barge someday for it.
@@robertschmidtrcmodelboats6483 awesome!!
How do you keep water from entering the electronics compartment ?
I only run in calm lake water and so far no water has come over the sides plus the pipes on the deck are like a barrier. @@robertschmidtrcmodelboats6483 That makes sense. Great work on the boat. Fantastic craftmanship
Is this the Dumas kit, or the Harbor Models?

Is it ever going to get run on water?
yes I have a posted video in the water.
Where's the maiden voyage video?
