Can we take a moment to recognize what a phenomenal musical talent Rick is?
Totally awesome talent. Rick answers all my questions about music - why does it sound like that?, what is unique about this song in particular?, how did they make that song? And loads of other questions.
The fact that artists, or often the management company, object to their product being promoted and spread to a wider audience is beyond me.
I'm always slightly jealous of how much musical knowledge and ability Rick has...but I also watch Tomo Fujita and he reminds us "Don't Compare" ...still I think part of us disregards such advice 😂
True dat. Amazing.
I've taken many moments already . . . And will hopefully take many more
Phenomenal musician Rick! wish I had half his knowledge across multiple instruments and vocals... and recording..and the list goes on!!!!
Rest well Christine, fly high.
Lindsey Buckingham is so incredibly underappriciated - such an amazing songwriter and guitarist!
Lindsey is probably a pain in the balls to work with but you’re right - he’s an incredibly under appreciated guitarist. He’s surely in the TOP 10 Of ALL TIME
@@MMacAttack
I don’t know how he is to work with. I’ve seen him solo a couple times. Comes off as pretty genuine, self depreciating, complimentary to his former loves and band mates. A true virtuoso.
@@MMacAttack stevie seems worse
what up with that?
He is on a short list of players with a distinctive style; when you hear it you know it’s him, a thing that cannot be taught.
Mick’s drumming is absolutely primal. So cool to hear the isolations.
Love that you describe it that way- I've described Fleetwood's drumming style using that same word! Primal!
Sad news about Christine McVie, a velvet voice that complimented perfectly the music of Fleetwood Mac. She will be sadly missed but leaves a legacy of music we will be listening to for many years. Fly high Song Bird
You could always identify Christine's contributions to FM's many albums not only by her voice, of course, but also by her style of composing and arranging her songs. It was a pleasure to listen to them... and still is.
IMO You Make Loving Fun is one of the best pop songs ever made.
@@ericpantalone5229 💯 agree with you 🙏
I loved the distinctive styles of FM's different writers. You always knew when you were listening to one of Lindsey's songs, you could instantly tell a Stevie song from the get go and Christine's songs were also immediately recognizable. In a band of people who were so often in chaos, Christine often was the glue that held everything together. I loved how she often closed concerts with Songbird. It was somehow...Perfect.
I always describe her voice as floating and melodic but velvet is a great description. A little bit smoky, a little bit sultry, maybe just a tiny bit suggestive, sensual but not sexual, and never ugly or vulgar. It was the kind of voice that could make a man say "that's how a REAL woman sings!". I'm gettin' the wigglies just writing about it. Pardon me, but I have to go listen to Warm Ways. Read the lyrics and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Wow, don't tell me someone in the industry finally figured out that these videos are not only highly informative and enjoyable but they are actually PROMOTING the product the music biz is trying to sell? I guess nobody ever accused the record industry of being quick learners. Geez. Awesome as usual, Rick.
I've thought the same thing too. Most industries don't think long term and that includes the music industry. Promotion in most cases guarantee long term profitability vs the quick buck from rights payments.
The MI is fooked up beyond believe!
I'm sure Rick is doing it because of his love of the music though. If record labels tried to create their own "Rick" who's only real goal was to move product, people would notice the difference. Hopefully!
Well, the bass/vocal combo emphasis was 100% muted.
The overall Music Industry is a Dinosaur. "Big Labels" resistance to change and trying to hold onto CONTROL has been their downfall. There's a new language that they refuse to learn how to speak. They also make Enemies where they should be forming ALLIANCES. Rick Beato is one of them. Its painfully laughable. He's ahead of the Game being both a Musician and he's learned how to be fluent in the "new language". The sound of gunfire from the Industry shooting itself in its own foot is deafening. The time when they needed to Wake Up and listen to the Music has passed.
What always struck me about this song is that it's lyrically sad but arrangement makes it seem happy and exciting
Lindsey & Stevie we’re never married. The breakups of Lindsey /Stevie & Christine/John created one of the BEST albums of ALL TIME. RUMOURS is still at the top of my Spotify playlists
Christine and John were married though.
+ M Mac Cohabitation is an equivalent of being a common law wife/husband. Many couples settle with attorneys even if they lived together 10 years and never married. Common Law status.
John's melancholy bass lines cement this song into immortality.
Well mate I am of viewpoint that John McVeigh is nearly the most underrated masterclass in rock and roll everyone carry’s on about the triple j’s from England both John’s Entwistle and Paul Jones or Jack Bruce and here’s this man who’s their equal at least without nearly as much fanfare
You are correct. Everyone talks about the bass in The Chain. The bass line in this song, especially the chorus is hands down, the best.
RIP Christine McVie😭!
Mick Fleetwood is my all-time favorite drummer. He plays just the right amount without a lot of unnecessary fill! Together with John McVie, they are one of the best rhythm sections of all time!
The perfect rock solid rhythm section, if you prefer that style over much busier styles.
Agreed!!!!
Lindsey is grossly underrated as both a player and as a songwriter. An outstanding musician.
He sounded better with the Les Paul he played in the 70’s.
I saw Lyndsey Buckingham play solo at BB King's in NY a couple of years back. All on acoustic guitars. It was a jaw-dropping display of phrasing and dynamics. What a talent.
I'll never understand why record companies would take these videos down, no one is going to watch this video instead of listening to the song
They come down hard on those who actually promote and explain the value of the record and at the same time there are thousands of videos with complete songs, albums, concerts and they stay on for years!
What the record companies do is very counter-intuitive. Rick's videos probably up their sales because people watch his explanation of why he feels that these songs are great and decide to buy them for their own collections.
The matter is quite complex because of copyright law - which varies from country to country but... just for a sec, let's do a thought experiment and replace "song" in the title with "recipe", "restaurant" or "travel destination". Nobody in their right mind would go against someone telling people how great your place is, or how great what you do is and why that is. Nobody would take you down for showing how cool your beaches are, or how tasty your steaks are or whatever... That shows how sick copyright has become ;)
Too many lawyers who are taking every opportunity to go after anything or anyone with money , or trying to make a name for themselves. They pervert the meaning of copyright law, meaning to not make $ out of a product they or their client produced, which I understand, however why would this video being harmful for their “bottom line”?
Strange world we live in.
Greed
If you are speaking about what makes a Fleetwood Mac song great, in my opinion you’ve got to mention the unprecidentedly perfect blend of those three voices-the very dark of Christine and the bright of Stevie and Lindsay between them. Every backup vocal was bliss.
Also Christine, Stevie and Lindsay were very good at singing harmonys
together. That ability made their vocals perfect for the backing music.
I’d say Stevie is the dark and Christine the bright
@@kingoftheseamusic Im talking tone quality, not hair color or symbolism or something.
@@MajorRoadAhead That's one thing Fleetwood Mac and Eagles had in common - harmonies
When I first heard this song I was 13 and recorded it subito from the radio. I remain a FM fan eversince and same is my son. R.I.P. Christine McVie you added some sparkling gems to my lifes soundtrack.
Buckingham’s guitar playing and arranging on this record are just brilliant. From the beautiful acoustic stuff, to these soaring melodic lines as exemplified here. As a kid, trying to be a hot-shot gunslinger guitarist, I liked these songs but never thought much of the guitar playing. It wasn’t until I got a bit older that I realized just how amazing Buckingham is on this record. And he wasn’t alone - they all turned in Hall of Fame performances. Leaves me nostalgic for the days when pop music had, you know, *musicians*.
Yeah, Buckingham is one of my major influences. His finger-style is very unique!
I too overlooked his playing until I saw them in Denver...his finger picking just killed
I understand the nostalgia but to discredit all modern pop music is a bit ignorant.
@@benthies9531 - I don't think he discredited all modern pop music. He simply implied that modern pop lacks "real" musicians, ie: is made up primarily of samples, programmed sequences, and autotune'd singers. Which even a cursory examination of the pop charts will confirm is a fact. - Facts can't be ignorant... However, If you inferred that this fact discredits "all modern pop music"... then that's _your_ judgement.
@@starttherebellion9146 Using samples and sequences and even autotune still makes "music". Meaning, the people that make "music" are considered "musicians"
hope this stays up.....spare a thought for Lindsey....he's just had to have an emergency heart surgery and may have damaged vocal cords......I for one wish him a speedy recovery.
Hello Darrell, I agree completely.
+1 best wishes to Lindsey!
Songs like this give you a reason why the man may have damaged his vocal chords...Lindsey sings the highest vocal line in the chorus of "Go Your Own Way". Considering what he might have been going through with Stevie Nicks, he absolutely DESTROYS his voice...like a man trying to sing his pain and heartache away...now imagine doing songs like that for the last 42 years...on top of his guitar and songwriting talents, the man knew how to sing, but also knew how to BELT IT OUT!...Kudos, and speedy recovery to Lindsey, and thanks to Rick!
So glad he got treatment. Medical science makes miracles. I have seen them.
wow...thanks for the word..had no idea about Lindsey..Get Well Lindsey
I'm not a musician or a recording gear head, so I don't really understand a f***ing thing you are talking about - BUT I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. You are a master at spreading the unifying joy that it is music. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Mike!
@@RickBeato I'm a language person not a musical person and I've been watching videos about sus chords so that I understand what you're talking about :)))))
Nicely put Mike. Rick is extraordinary. The key to any entertainment is the passion of the artist which is why Rick's videos are so entertaining, he is so passionate about these toons.
That makes two of us!!!😂😂🇬🇧
Same here, love Rick. it's like a Richard Feynman class, you don't get everything but you love it.
So you are two bandmates in a romantic relationship that breaks up bitterly. You then both not only stay in the band, but go on to write a song about your breakup, record it together, and then also perform it together on stage side-by-side. How badass is that!?
It was four band mates going through breaking up during the recording of Rumors. John and Christine Mcvie and Lindsey and Stevie. At one point Stevie hooked up with Mick Fleetwood. Emotional environments can produce amazing music!
Lindsay wrote a song about Stevie literally fucking around and made her sing it. Power moves.
@@Ballin4Vengeance ‘I very, very much resented him telling the world that “packing up, shacking up” with different men was all I wanted to do,’ Nicks told Rolling Stone in 1997. ‘He knew it wasn’t true. It was just an angry thing that he said. Every time those words would come out onstage, I wanted to go over and kill him.’
@@Ballin4Vengeance And being a true artist, she sang it.
With ABBA they were all breaking up.
I think you missed something. The outgoing solo has the same heartbreak that was in the lyrics. Lindsey already sang his heart out and he is out of words so he is all alone now and left to talk through his guitar. The anguish that pours out is beyond words. Brilliant artist
Very well put! This is one of my favorite all time songs.
Well said. When you listen to the song (esp. loud w/ headphones) you can really hear the building up of the emotions in the guitar parts. To the point that, honestly, it's a bit uncomfortable by the outro if you think about the rel'sp behind the song.
The isolated vocals reveals a lot more raw emotion than is heard in the full mix. Great stuff!
Buckingham and John Mac are the two musical freaks of that band. Lindsay doesn't get enough raps for his genius as a guitar craftsman. His solos are sublime, intricate and like no-one elses. And McVie is my favourite bass player. Again, he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He is such a machine, with many subtle, complex and perfect fills and grooves.
Well said
The bass in THE CHAIN is incredible
McVie was also the bassist on The Beano Album!
JPJ for me, but otherwise, yes.
you must be kidding
R. I. P. Christine 🕊️💔🕊️. Now Singing above with the Angels. 💞
Buckingham is a genius.
Best past of Fleetwood I always thought. Talented as they all were.
Yes he is...massively underrated guitar player! Love his tone and super tasty phrasing!
Craig MacKinnon dunno about underrated what with a double diamond and all.
One of my influences
He's the best
It's interesting that Rick did not discuss the incredible syncopation on this record. As someone who's covered this tune I can attest that, depending on which part you listen to (or playing), it's easy to lose "one" as the beat turns around and turns back. The parts where the drums come in are tricky and surprising, as is the way the melody fits with that herky-jerky rhythm part.
This is just an exceptional song from an amazing album. There were routinely four tunes from this record in regular radio rotation as late as the mid-80s, and there's a good reason why. Awesome!
Find a live version of this. Be sure to fasten your seatbelt. It was this syncopation that I commented on. It’s crazy!
Agreed! The beat is what I focus on in this tune and find so intoxicating- Fleetwood's drumming is so primal and so interesting!
Wow, that brings back the memories. My studio recorded that album and it was one of the toughest to do because of the range of emotions between the band members. You mentioned the lack of Punch-ins. They were not so easy then, it was hard to avoid switching artifacts on the 3M M79 decks. The consoles were API, later replaced with larger Trident TSM. A lot of tears were shed in that 6 month session, with two breakups going on in the middle of it. A lot of screaming also.
Wow you must have some interesting stories from that time. I’m not sure if I would have loved or hated to be a fly on the wall during those recordings. Any other iconic albums from your studio?
I’m so very grateful that you are a part of this conversation! Thank you so much for chiming in!
Record Plant in Sausalto? That building was briefly used as a visual effects facility for films. My desk was in the main tracking room and I loved feeling the echoes of everything that had gone on there.
You were the Geoff Emerick of Fleetwood Mac???
@@Fuzcapp who was the Mal Evans?
Rumours is such a great album.
Lindsey Buckingham is one of those guitarist that proves you don’t need a shredding technique to convey a powerful and shearing solo break. It’s really about the song. Also the twelve string enters on the off beat which provides a nervous underpinning to the song’s drive. Thanks Rick for another great video.
Along with Robby Krieger, one of the all-time underappreciated guitarists.
Well said. Makes him a musician.
I’m late to it but libertyville’s own Adam Jones is my favorite of that group. Subtle and sublime
Don't understand how this could possibly meet infringement criteria. It is obviously educational. And it serves to show how wonderfully talented these musicians are. It makes me want to go out and get the album and listen to it entirely!
Algorithms don’t care about opinions.
Lindsey Buckingham is a genius.
Buckingham is a fantastic songwriter, musician, and vocalist. Pretty damn impressive.
Don't look into his solo career then.
@@cygnusfloyd Good point!
16:09 Those final five notes of that solo have always hit me.
Even back in '77 when I was 13.
Buckingham slays me with the lightest touch.
I knew back when I was 15 in 77 and heard this song and the album, he was a great guitarist and song writer. He is the reason I learned guitar. He is so underrated as a guitarist, the man is a genius!
The vocals are perfect. Especially Lindsey's opening ones. He sounds like a crooner.
What makes this song great? It's real. It's raw emotion. Pretty brutal song if you listen to the lyrics. Phenomenal song.
Exactly.
I find that in 'White Room' by Cream. Raw, heavy and real, especially when they did it live.
I recall the stories at the time Rumours was released of the Buckingham-Nicks and McVie-McVie breakups fueling the intense emotion of the songs on this record. It makes sense. Intense heartbreak has underlain so many amazing songs, from Clayton’s Layla to Don Henley’s Best of My Love, Patsy Cline’s Crazy, and on and on. Rumours was perhaps the most angst-ridden broken-hearted efforts of the 1970’s, and we are lucky to have it.
For those interested, Lindsey broke down the tracks on episode 150 of the SongExploder podcast
That's a great podcast.
Is it on YT?
@Raaaaaaaaaaandy Thanks, i'm going to check that out now.
Some of the harmony and vocal stems he shows on that podcast are so great
radamessr no you can find it on any podcast app, it's great like they say with nowadays interviews and the original stems!
Awesome!! Thank you and R.I. P Christine McVie..you're sorely missed!! 😞
I revisited this after hearing of her passing. RIP Christine. She was an amazing musician & songwriter... sad loss.
Buckingham is a great guitarist because he's a great musician; incredibly creative.
The sound of a man's heart breaking.
Not sure how Rick was able to share this with us, but I want to thank the license holders and Lindsey Buckingham for allowing this to happen. I have heard this song since age 9 when it was first released, but only now can I appreciate the music.
Wow, when he solo's the drums, it sounds much like Van Halen's Panama, even when the strait groove comes in!
Having your ex do backing vocals on your hit breakup song about her, is a special flex.
And when she's Stevie Nicks it's stratospheric.
The reason this song is so great is it was written straight from serious romantic pain, and there were amazing musicians waiting to play it. The approach on the drums was perfect. I bought the single as a kid. Rumors was a national phenomenon. Everyone was talking about it.
I think that the bass really defines this song
100%! I am a lead guitarist but when I get the itch to play some bass I love playing John McVie's incredible lines from the chorus
God he sounds like he's on the verge of tears, it's heart-wrenching.
Just hearing the isolated 12-string track along with Lindsey Buckingham's voice just gives me chills. The man is such an incredible and underrated musician, and Fleetwood Mac never would have been what they became without him. And then you team Lindsey Buckingham with The Incredibles Talent of Christine McVie and you have a songwriting Powerhouse that can only be compared to a couple others like Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Just legendary.
Top 5 songs of all time!
Thank you Rick for this fabulous and very thorough description of this great piece of music. I was 14 when this came out, 59 now and every time I hear Lindsey Buckingham's guitar solo I'm still in awe of it.
I just discovered Storms by Fleetwood Mac , so good.
I have never been able to explain why this song became one of my all-time favorites the very first time I heard it. The unique opening, the lyrics, the feel, the drums ...the WHOLE thing combines in what imo is an under-rated masterpiece.
Thank you , Rick, for once again providing validation for that which I could never articulate - Bravo!
I always argue that this is the greatest song of all time. It's simple, but not boring, the vocals are amazing, the lyrics and meaning are so poignant to so many people, and it's the perfect length. Yes there are more technically impressive songs out there, but this just ticks every box.
RIP beautiful and sweet Christine McVie: 11/30/2022
I'd love it if you did Mr Blue Sky or Telephone Line by ELO. You have a way of explaining compositional techniques in a way I understand so it would be great if you covered Jeff Lynne
I second that!

@@starttherebellion9146 - What's WMTSG if I may ask?
First time here. Fantastic analysis of Lindsey's style, Rick. I learnt about muted guitars and how Lindsey used chord and vocal dissonance to create deliberate tension and resolution. Lindsey comes across a very passionate person and in his breakup song, his feelings and emotional intensity are pronounced and reflected in his guitar style and phrasing which makes this song great. ❤❤
Yes, yes, yes!...excellent analysis of how Lyndsey Buckingham operated as a
songwriter & arranger of the song! He is indeed quite passionate and sincere sounding here, his voice sounds very emotional which just ups the antenna on the intensity of the song. Love all that went into this one...
Hey Rick, I know absolutely NOTHING about how music is written. When you talk about notes and phrasing, it is like someone talking a foreign language. Despite that, I have become a HUGE fan. I watch your videos all the way through. I find the way you dissect and explain songs absolutely mesmerising. Don't ever stop. You are doing an incredible job pulling back the curtain for those of us who are fans without knowing the craft that goes into these masterpieces.
RICK, I am so impressed with your demeanour, your composure, your obvious love and knowledge of music,
and your ability to articulate and demonstrate what you think , know, and believe, in such a meaningful and
gentle way. I'm sure you have many friends. I wish I was one of them! Thank you....Wayne🤞🏻
Wayne King what a lovely comment. I've been thinking the same thing, wondering how to express it, and you nailed it.
Rick is just the best!
What Han Reality says is exactly what I was thinking, Wayne King says what I would like to have said to Rick. Hope this still makes sence, but bottom line...Rick you are awesome. Even the parts with the "...coming back with the C Major to the D flat and the four on the second beat with the reverb on the sustain through the second mike with the D minor"- stuff where I absolutely have no clue what it all means, I enjoy so much. Love to hear him talk with his knowledge and passion. I do know what a Telefunken U47 is tough, thanks to Frank Zappa! Peace and love to everyone here.
Great episode. John McVie was a monster bass player. Solid, super melodic, and tasty. Peace.
teppolundgren Didn't mean to imply he wasn't. Just meant that especially on those albums he was a monster.....should have just said "is a monster..."Peace.
Couldn't agree more. John McVie is one of my three favorite pop bass players from a songwriting/compositional standpoint. The other two are James Jamersom and Mike Mills.
The bass and drums for Fleetwood Mac were always a driving force even back in the Peter Green Day's.
I'd love to see Rick interview Lindsey Buckingham.
The way you build up, the way you break this song down is epic. Go your own way is one of those songs.. That I am sure has such a personal connection to every single person who hears it. The drumming of Mic Fleetwood is so...primal... along with the killer bass track.. and way the way the songs...builds and builds...makes the song for me.
It's the drumming that makes this song for me.
This song always reminded me of summers at Jones Beach 🏖 in 1977. Everybody was playing it!
There was a PBS documentary a few years back on the making of Rumours. Mick Fleetwood explained how they couldn't make this song come alive until he stopped accenting 2 and 4 and went for 1 and 3.
My favorite Fleetwood Mac song…and Lindsey’s vocals on the chorus are high!
I have zero musical knowledge, I'm just a huge fan. These videos help me understand why I fell in love with the songs. Thank you!
Lindsey Buckingham is the most important rock musician of the 70's (and one of the greatest all-time for that matter). He's a damn gift! Wishing him all the best.
Let's not get carried away.

Oh wow, I didnt knew this song was Fleetwood Mac. I used to hear this song on radio while working over night cleaning floors at a 24hr supermarket. I really love this song.
The Out Chorus Solo is Blistering, emotion is high
One of my all all time favorite guitar solos. Gets turned all the way up EVERY time.
That Out Chorus Solos is giving me shivers. So great.
Also, the Bass in the chorus is more like a vocal harmony.
One of the best songs ever recorded. Rumours an incredible album
When I was growing up in 70's, just about EVERYBODY owned a copy of Fleetwood Mac Rumours album. It was a HUGE success!!! And we all loved this great song too....
Of course the melody and lyrics have so much feeling. It was written from a deep emotional wound in his life. Songs written from heart and experience always speak to and of the soul of man. This one has a depressive despair of love lost. Great tune
Rick - You make me love music more than I ever thought possible.
My son is starting to play guitar and has some chances to learn music production. I'm going to have him watch all of Rick's stuff.
Of all your excellent videos, this is the most comprehensive and vital. Outstanding job of drawing out the full depth and power of this great song.
They're emotional connection to their performance and the material is unequaled...
Maybe the one classic rock radio regular I NEVER get sick of.
I departed from Rock and Roll at the age of 15. I got into Jazz and Fusion Blue Grass and Classical. My hero’s are folks like Pat Metheny, Chick Corea and Bela Fleck. But now in my 50’s I’ve fallen in love with classic Rock again. Fleetwood Mac ,Boston, Stealy Dan , Yes and on it goes . It’s great to be back !
Thank you so much Rick.I am 62 now,all these Fleetwood Mac songs are just so important in my life.I totally agree for guitar play,Mark knopler,Mike Oldfield,Lindsey Buckingham,& David Gilmour are the best!
The out chorus goes up in volume and it just hits so hard. Drums and guitar finishing this song perfectly. Love this one.
There's a "where is one" ambiguous feel in the intro and verses which (along with the lyrics) creates tension until the chorus comes in. Brilliant.
I hadn't thought about it like that, but you're right. Other examples would be The Police's Spirits In The Material World. Also there is Battery by Metallica.
Glad to hear how you feel about Buckingham’s playing. I’m the only person I’ve heard , until now, say he is one of their favorites.
Fleetwood Mac is the combination of musical genius members!!! Their sound and music will live on for many more years.May Christine McVie rest in peace!!! Fleetwood Mac is done without her and the departure of Lindsay. We are so fortunate to have experienced this AMAZING music for 40+ years. Thank you for recognizing the the true GENIUS of this truly gifted group!!!!
Rick, I hope you can do a video on what makes "You Make Loving Fun" such a great song. Since McVie's death I just can't stop listening. Paticulay the track from The Dance. Buckingham's guitar is just stellar IMO. 🙏
Lindsey just had heart surgery. Much love & prayers out to him & his family.... Another great video, Mr. Beato!!
Lindsey wasn't married to Stevie. They were a couple and living together for a long time (before breaking up) but weren't married. John McVie (bass) and Christine McVie (keyboards) were married and got divorced before the recording of the album.
thespotlightkid correct.
All the songs on the album are about the band member's relationships and affairs. Christine McVie wrote You Make Loving Fun about an affair she had with the band's lighting director.

I've been wanting to hear Rick talk about FM forever, and I knew this video was blocked! Glad I can see it now! More FM and LB solo stuff please ☺
Halcyon summers of my youth when I survived lonely summers when dad won't let me out of the farm. Dating was definitely not allowed. The radio was my best friend, loved music of 70s and 80s.
One of the best songs of all time. Lyrics, emotions, music: close to perfection. ❤️🔥
This is definitely fair use. Don't know why they took it down.
It was taken down automatically by content ID I gather.
People misunderstand fair use, it's a legal defence rather than an automatic right, so UA-cam aren't expected to abide by fair use unless there's been a court case. In fact even then UA-cam aren't required to abide by such rulings as they're a private company and users are posting stuff to their platform.
To be clear I think UA-cam SHOULD respect fair use, and it's in their interest to since I'm willing to be the VAST majority of stuff on YT that gets decent audiences and therefore ad views, is repurposed copyrighted material, but youtube aren't legally obliged to host anyone's content, legal or not.
Watch Fleetwood Mac in concert doing these songs, Stevie and Lindsey are just staring each other down during this song. I couldn't imagine doing that with my ex. Such real, raw emotions through this song and the whole album.
I bought Rumours when I was a freshman in college, living in the dorm. I got it the day it came out. Went back to my room, played it through twice. Everyone in the wing wanted to know what that sound was. Loaned the album out to friends and didn't see it again for a week. Phenomenal album.
When you break these songs down and apart it is so surreal. I am hearing parts so well known and obvious but at the same time hearing parts that I never knew were even there. So familar sounding, while at the same time so unfamiliar sounding, thus surreal.
6:03 to 6:30 Rick just basking in Mick Fleetwood's awesomeness!!!
It takes talent to deconstruct talent. I am lucky to be able to play a CD, but your videos really are a testament to the work that went into such a great song.
Actually Rick that single note that he holds knocked my H.S. friend for a loop. He went nuts for it. Peace
One of the greatest rock songs ever - simple.
