Suffering can be enjoyed, think about the enjoyment of 'putting peeps at their place', being 'right', or getting angry, for the inner trepidation those activities bring enhances the sense of (separate) self. We replay heartbreaking songs...
The avantage of being a separate being? Not to be part of the general madness, maybe?

If you go back to suffering.
    You don’t choose it.
You don’t know you have until you wake up again.
The whole system seems to be set up to stop you waking up

I think that it is worth trying to remember the Big picture, happyness is improved and realized when we become wiser and more Intelligent but all learning and Change also involves and NEEDS that we continue sometimes to make mistakes and some are a repeat of an OLD mistake , but we benefit from this falling back, it is simply part of the process and natural. When we see this then a deeper understanding comes into being and we become newly aware of its value.

    Hello.
I just don’t understand the blind spot we have in regards to the relationship of “being a body - having drives due to being a body - and creating a world thanks to those drives due to being a body”.
It is clearly the case that my at least partial identification with my body, and thus desiring another body (in the form of a partner, kids and other loved ones) urges me to found a family, a job, a business and several productions and even helpful inventions because of it.
Yes we might opt out for a higher cause, when it is intuitively clear that it is a higher cause, but hard to comprehend such “futility of the so called ignorance”. It visibly possesses and exhibits its positive features.
While it is not the noblest strata of wisdom, however, it brings about some level of destructiveness too of course.

If choice is 'real', then the chooser must also be 'real'.
What is it that is real? (only reality is real).
There is only one candidate, one changeless reality, which is the reality of consciousness.
That which does not come and go.
    ~~
Therefore, all choices are made by the one and only reality, which is consciousness.
    ~~
What is ignorance? How real is a belief? A belief is as real as we choose to make it. But in spite of that, it remains a belief.
The belief in separation creates the belief in suffering, which goes hand in hand with the belief in a personal entity, a sufferer.
    A mountain of beliefs.

I can't understand how it is possible to relapse into ignorance, unless i don't understand the context here. There is never a point that i am not in awareness of my true nature except when i am asleep. It seems that the only way one could slip back into complete ignorance would be because of a belief that they were liberated to begin with.

Here is one of the extremely rare occasion i don't agree with FL.
The complete identification of who one is, with one's personal story it isn't a choice.
Human unconsciousness it isn't a choice .It is part of the universal unfolding.
The" i" we think is choosing doesn't even exist.

Whatever happens is the unfolding of universal freedom.. There is no individual self to whom events are happening. There is no limited consciousness, and therefore no limited I with the freedom to choose..

Mmm, I love Francis videos but may play the devil advocate for this one. 😊 is the advantage to think that you are only a body ? Shouldn’t be our concern just like what is the advantage of thinking you are consciousness or awareness shouldn’t be our concern. Being a body doesn’t mean suffering necessarily (I am not saying that is what we are) Truth should be the only concern, besides many atheists suffer way less than spiritual people and probably think we are just the body. The main point is to come to the experience just like in science to prove that it isn’t the case. I am not sure we can. Just like I am not sure we can prove that we are unlimited awareness, that could also be in the brain itself. At last, animals and trees are just bodies and they don’t suffer, humans mainly suffer because of the mind (imagination) so maybe I am playing the devil advocate but we could reconsider the answer to that question… :)

Suffering is an impression that is unavoidable as you consider yourself to be a mortal body mind.
Whether being atheist or theist does not matter.
It is impossible to prove that you are a body mind. Because you are the noumenal reality which is and knows it is; the noumenal reality which is and perceives.
How can a noumenal reality be phenomenally located?
Test it out: In the absence of the belief (and feeling) that you are a mortal body mind, is there such a thing as suffering?

No, that just a thought. Besides, i don't experience suffering.
"It is impossible to prove that you are a body mind."
Neither is it possible to prove that you are something else than the body mind.
"In the absence of the belief (and feeling) that you are a mortal body mind, is there such a thing as suffering?"
What's your point ? I don't believe in anything and i would say many religous people suffer more than atheists.

You don't need to prove that you are not a body mind form, nor do you need to prove that you are something else than the body mind. But you can drop that belief since it lacks supporting evidence and remain not-knowing.
My point about suffering is that it is predicated on the belief that I am a separate entity, which lacks any evidence. Thus, suffering has an element of fiction to it.

@@MagdiNonDuality I don't have that belief. What I said is that we cannot prove that we are not solely that either on a scientific level. And again, I don't experience suffering either. Maybe I explained it in the wrong way. I don't have the belief of being solely the body, what I am saying is that we cannot prove scientifically that we are :
      1. Solely the body mind
      2. Something other than body mind (awareness, consciousness)
I absolutely agree that suffering is (partly) predicated on the belief to be a separate entity. I don't have that belief.
That in itself is not necessarily related. Animals and trees don't suffer and they don't experience themseflves as being separate, nor do they experience themselfves as being solely the body - nor consciousness or awareness.
      They simply are, without mind.
So I would say going beyond the mind would be the criteria.
