@ yeah it was always the intent in terms of aerodynamics, but so many people, especially Miata people love them open permanently and it just doesn’t look good imo
Sometimes yes sometimes no. I have a 87 starion and in some pictures it looks better with them up and in some it looks better with them down. I don’t drive around with them up unless I have my headlights on bc that’s the entire reason for them being popups
Interesting idea for this channel, I'd find it super interesting to hear from some of your friends like Eric talking about cars or sharing interesting car stories. We always hear about them on your channel but never really get to hear from them This all obviously depends on if they would even be comfortable with it but I do think it would be fun and interesting to hear things from them.
Hey Drew, something ive learned recently is garage doors are actually very easy to break into. Easier than a locked front door. I'd suggest adding some security since you live in California and they don't prosecute criminals there. Just law abiding citizens with nice guns and loud cars.
No 🧢 my G. Like bro everyone can claim to be a car enthusiast. Even the E-thots can say that nowadays. Difference between a poser and the real ones depends on how they appreciate cars.
Got one of my fave cars in my mid 20s. In the midst of buying a house and being in grad school. Enjoy it and as long as your handling business, ignore any negativity.
I can take criticism, what bothers me is when somebody who thinks they have a “build” (every day traffic with lowering springs, wheels, and stickers) tries to comment on my racecar.
Here from over the ocean. Americans are so fucking lucky about modifying cars. In europe its close to IMPOSIBLE to do the builds you have in the US. Both because of the laws, the financial position and the roads, kinda only germany has crazy highways and nowhere in europe do you have 200 mile long 4-6 lane highways to do some fun safe racing. Love the videos from the second chanal
This is why Euro sports car focused on handling and engineering. Americans needed big engines to cruise at 55, Japan needed tiny fuel efficient cars and Europeans needed fuel efficiency but not at the cost of fun and size. National differences created inherent differences in what cars are designed to do. Its a very interesting thing to look into.
These are honestly your most entertaining videos by a country mile imo. It's just refreshing to see unedited videos of a guy expressing his opinions around the car scene
IMO not paying the extra costs for those options is missing the beauty/heart/fun of a c6 vette. If you can’t afford the extra options there are a lot of other cars I’d recommend out there more suitable for the budget that would be great.
not when you are trying to save up for a C4 ZR1. actually I have seen 1 ZR1 for around $20k. I almost bought it but I already had to many cars and no adiquet space to put it. If I bought it it would have gotten all dusty and covered in burd turd. lol. but most are around $30k to $40k. Hell, there was 1 in LA going foe $100k because it had 100 miles.
I had a subaru legacy GT spec B (one of 500 350hp). It had one of the most unreliable subaru motors out there. But it can be "reliable" but you have to have a fine eye for detail and stay on top of things. I drove mine new to 245k miles, left it bone stock. My uncle is still driving it around to this day but I will say, ive put like 15k into that car since new to keep it in perfect shape. Thing just ate through water pumps if you were driving it hard. I would say taking care of them doesn't matter as much as taking it easy. If you drive like a grandma, it'll last forever.
The take on M cars is true. I think that's why the G80 looks grow on people. The G80 M3 and the G20 M340i are the first time where the M car looks meaningfully different from the 3 series. That grille is unmistakable, whether you like it or not. The F30 340i and the F80 M3 look so similar that unless you know what to look for, you'll think they were the same car. I've had people ask if my 340i was an M3 because it's loud, it has carbon fiber bits that are well fitted, and it has a stage 2 tune. JDM cars are overhyped. It used to be worth the hype, the whole idea was you're not paying that much money and getting a whole lot of value. But when it takes a full build to get 400 whp and you lose whatever reliability you had in the process, at some point, you gotta ask. Is it worth it? When a BMW can do it with a downpipe and a tune and still be AWD while being lighter than a muscle car? Oh and they're reliable now? When an Audi can do it with a tune alone? When V8s like the Mustang and Scatpack can do it stock? You really gotta ask, is that JDM car with a fully built motor to make 400 whp really worth it? The answer is no.
You talking about the k24, id like to remind you usually the cheapest part is buying the motor. Most old motors are like 900 bucks (my tea is ford 351w's) the expensive part is the internals when u wanna do it right. If ur going for boost 5 to 10k. For just a stock rebuild another grand or two. Dont even get started on the external bits like intake manifolds, injectors, wiring, ect. Point being, a block is the cheap part.
I'm not going EV until they perform like the movie Tron. Once that happens, the performance will speak for itself and sound crazy so they will just be too damn cool. Once that happens and people view ICE vehicles as old relics, and preferring them becomes like wanting a crank start steam engine, it aint happening. And yes, THIS chick is a hardcore outlier and dumping 20k with a blower into a fully loaded murdered out Premium V8 MT S650. No beadlocks and no stickers!
For real, only time it’s different is if you’re bringing in a foreign bumper for an import or something that looks better because it doesn’t have to conform to our stupid crash models
Maybe hot take in relation to yours, but upbadging is only up upbadging if your car is slower than what you upbadge to. Gt500 bumper and wing on a stock 5.0 for example, upbadging still. But gt500 bumper and gt500 wing on a Whipple supercharged and modified 5.0 that’s faster than your stock gt500, and those mods might be needed to support the FI (bigger air flow for the front bumper, or aero, etc. ) then it’s not upbadging anymore 🤷🏾♂️
5:09 ok but like the huracan has multiple trim levels. The aventador has multiple trim levels. The r8 has a couple trim levels. The 512 and 812 have different trim levels. Im not so sure thats a fantastic argument for that 17:31 i daily my manual turbo diesel. I chose it mainly for reliability over the autos but its turned out to be just as fun if not more than the 07 supercharged gt i had with the stock 5 speed
Thing is, even the lowest trim Huracán/Aventador/812/etc can be considered supercars in terms of performance and exclusivity. A Porsche 911 Carrera or Corvette Stingray, on the other hand, lack the supercar performance and are more common vehicles. That's what makes classifying the 911 and Corvette difficult, as their higher trim variants (Turbo/GTx for the 911, Corvette Z models) have the performance to match or beat supercars, and the ZR1 has basically hypercar performance while a GT3 RS is faster than a 918 on a track.
The trim level argument works to an extent. Because if you think about it, those cars you mentioned if i'm not mistaken only had one trim at launch, and post launch they've gotten other trims which are higher level than the already stock supercar. Where as the GT3RS has supercar levels of performance, but some of the trims below it doesnt. It's a hard argument to make and i think it sways from car to car, but yes to an extent i think it works
Hold up drew, daily driving and manuals there is a reason not to get one. Say you commute 100 miles a day plus winter exists and say you want a newer car with good traction control n all that, most likely ur getting an auto or cvt. Personally tho I went with a Civic SI 2024 because I don't trust CVTs and it was the only manual option with what I needed and atleast 200hp which I think is the minimum hp in my opinion for a daily driver. Not too much, not too little, and I'm not saying it's fast by any means.
Hold up, now if you somehow magically put all the cooling in the rear of the c6 for some ungodly reason then put a roof scoop on i can get behind that. Still I don't see why tf someone would do it
Id like a supra but for 50-70k I'll take a zo6 pls. I like the generation right after yours because I had a rich friend in HS who had one and it was the first fast car I ever rode in, its the sexiest machine in existence to me. But unfortunately winter exists for me and I commute A LOT. I'm not doing bad but I can't afford 3 vehicles. I need my gas saver and truck day to day. So my fun wrenching vehicle is my truck since I barley use it.
If I hear drew call Infinitis a luxury vehicle one more time my heads going to explode. On what planet are they not economy cars, literally some of the cheapest “sports” cars you can buy.

When are we getting "Between 2 Men"
Pause. You onto something...
Nahh Thas wrong 😂
“YOU NEED TO LEAVE!!”
GET OUTTT
Hot take: oem + is the best looking build style on any car
Honestly that's true 9/10 times. Lighter and more tasteful is so much better than all the bolt on widebodies and early 2000's bodykits lol
Not wrong, but I will still modify my trucks.
True if you dont have funds. Actual race parts are extremely expensive. And most people wont ever use them for racing.
Hot take: Cars with pop up headlights look better when the lights are down.
that's the point of pop-ups as far as i know.. so they look more sleek.
i agree in all cases. also, nice firebird, man.
Half way up lights >>>

35:50 hot take drew needs to post canyon runs. That would be fire content as im trapped in winter.
Hot take: you’re not a car girl if all you do is take pictures in front of your car and/or you’ve never worked on your car.
cold take js straight facts
No 🧢 my G. Like bro everyone can claim to be a car enthusiast. Even the E-thots can say that nowadays. Difference between a poser and the real ones depends on how they appreciate cars.
that makes no sense i havent worked on my car but i love cars im
still a car guy🤡
this includes “car guys” who do the same
Got one of my fave cars in my mid 20s. In the midst of buying a house and being in grad school. Enjoy it and as long as your handling business, ignore any negativity.

Here from over the ocean.
Americans are so fucking lucky about modifying cars. In europe its close to IMPOSIBLE to do the builds you have in the US.

Yep. Can't have anything aftermarket on the cars, and we are also broke as SHIT in the eastern countries. The hobby is dead around here.
These are honestly your most entertaining videos by a country mile imo. It's just refreshing to see unedited videos of a guy expressing his opinions around the car scene
Favorite UA-cam series 🇺🇸🫡
Vw/audi 2.0t is an underrated platform
Hot take: C6’s should only be bought with targa tops/carbon roofs and 6mt. Settling for any less is a waste of time and money.
IMO not paying the extra costs for those options is missing the beauty/heart/fun of a c6 vette.
If you can’t afford the extra options there are a lot of other cars I’d recommend out there more suitable for the budget that would be great.
I will say however, there are a few exceptions. Like the collectability of a C6, 427 vert
Hot take: The WAP was the most interesting build you’ve done on your channel. Love u tho.
im at work listening to this banger
C4 Corvettes are the best bang for your buck as far as having a car that has good performance, looks great & is dirt cheap.
not when you are trying to save up for a C4 ZR1. actually I have seen 1 ZR1 for around $20k. I almost bought it but I already had to many cars and no adiquet space to put it. Eating through water pumps isn’t reliable and putting 15k into “maintenance” if it’s left bone stock lol
Hot take...In terms of personality. Carbureted V8's are better than fuel injected. They have that natural chop and a better sound.
Used to have a carbureted Chevy with a 350 as my first car. I like both tho, but agree that Carb does hit different
It smells good asf too lol
Hot take: 3rd gen Camaros are underrated. They are a very cheap but decent v8 American muscle platform with a huge aftermarket scene

paint on the stang looks sick an od army green would look mean to, nice slippers
Cam chop is amazing. I want my truck to have the cadence of galloping horses
Hot Take: the sound of a N/A exaust sounds better then the flutter of a turbo or the whine of the supercharger
this is the hottest take i’ve ever seen
as a toyota salesman, can 100% agree that product is beginning to lack compared to others..
Bumper swaps is the same as up-badging. Shelby,ZL1, etc
For real, only time it’s different is if you’re bringing in a foreign bumper for an import or something that looks better because it doesn’t have to conform to our stupid crash models

31:04 factuals. this guy knows what he's talking about. BEST take of the video.
I think you should explain that beadlocks are for cars whose wheels are doing burnouts inside of the tires.
My 07 legacy has not blown a head gasket (178k miles) (knocking on wood)
Whats up Drew! 🫡
25:00 sounds like a bin lorry😂

hot take: You don't have to get the V8 version of the car you want first. You should learn how to drive then work towards getting it
Hot take : the gen 3 5.0 yote is the new LS
Nah, they're not being swapped like the LS yet.
Yes, 2 videos in one day he'll yeah 🫡💯
Hot take: small wheels big tires is always better
The problem is toyota is adding turbos, CVTS, hybrids, and straying from their perfect 4cyl roots. BRING BACK THE 22R
Hot take:older cars are just better overall then newer cars in terms of reliability and repair
21:38 I burped up a little bit of my lunch after you said that. 🤢
Dru id love to see you do a turbo kit swap mini max drift truck.
You don’t “need” a beadlock, but they do look nice

0:00 What are those slippers?
subarus are reliable, stats don't lie

Infinity is supposed to be "premium" like Mercedes, Lexus etc..

Is it possible to build a inline 6 or 4 because that would be cool or even a boxer lol taht would be gnarly

C7 ZR1 > C8 Z06
Older Subarus are reliable 😔
R35s don’t sound much different compared to a VQ
what shoe size are you? think i'ma need those off you man
When’s between two guys coming out
oh damn. donut media ruined the car scene. that would’ve been a good one cuz they did
Subaru head gasket = you probably reved it too high while it was not up to operating temp.

The 4.0 in the earlier s197 are NOT goated. They make less hp than a brz and rip apart timing chains
JDM cars are going out of hype tho. They stopped making cool cars like 20yo ago.

Jdm doesn't come close to german. Theres a reason why those 90s bmws are "the ultimate driving machine." Absolutely love my crx tho!
