OK now the writers for this show aren't the greatest, but i actually ADORE the slow burn process of ricky and gina but my boy elton john didn't deserve to lose like that 😭he doesn't and never got his dad's approval at the end....
which shows that we need to know where we stand with people because life is short, and know what truly matters in life. we can't just rely on others to do what we want, we have to do it ourselves !
I agree!! This show has so many great concepts and themes that are often underrepresented. I just wish the dialogue was better 😭, as a small filmmaker I wish I could come into their writing room after they close up and tweak it

Honestly same s3 portwell did not work well sadly 😭
I thought both Portwell and Rini were cute together while they lasted. But though I do feel for EJ and he does deserve someone great (possibly Val in the future🤷, but I'm cool with them just being friends), he needs time to develop as a boyfriend like how Ricky needed time to develop on his own and not worry about relationships. I think Rina should have happened in season four to be honest. But because of the way it was done with the time jump and everything, it worked better than I expected. This is just my opinion as someone who does not have a certain favorite ship on this show.

okay but I'm so conflicted like I don't like Ricky and Gina together but my darling boy deserves one season, just one, without a break up (and yes I am fully counting Lily at the start of this season because she is amazing and the PERFECT overarching antagonistic character for future seasons I stan villain Belle because I'm gay and Lily is everything)

ngl I really hoped they didn't make rina a thing in the end. I'm not even a Portwell stan or Rini stan, I just feel like we've had enough of them. Also, all the rina stans are gonna be insufferable, sorry not sorry but every rina stan I've come across has been rude and annoying because of a tv show ship.
I really wished they'd let Ricky be alone for a while. He's always in some kind of a relationship, or the cause of a break up.
Also, and this might be a hard pill to swallow, rina is not gonna last. Based on the show's history with the ships, they're gonna be happy for like 2 episodes and then start fighting because of some petty reason and in the end they'll "realize" they don't belong together. At this point most of the straight relationships have gone through that exact scenario and it's getting repetetive and annoying. Maybe I'm getting too old for this high school relationship drama, but in real life it's not as dramatic and people don't act like their whole world changed. Also, isn't it a bit weird how literally everybody realizes they're "not meant for each other"? I mean, damn. By season 5, everybody will have history with everybody.
(also, have yall seen Ricky? That boy is a walking disaster and Gina takes every little thing like it's the biggest offense to her. They're gonna run into trouble very soon)
Rini fans literally drove sofia wylie off twitter when she posted about rina back in season 1, and nowadays they constantly put down Sofia and the show to prop up their dead ship. nobody is more toxic than them lmao.
