It's not just nerds. This kind of alt-right, evidence-free shit-stirring and spouting lies about non-existent liberal/woke conspiracies infects many people - and, imho, this is where Brexit and Trumpism came from. They may appear to be different phenomena, but they're all largely driven by bigotry, conservatism and a conscious or unconscious hatred of diversity. The tone, language and methods used by the propagandists are also eerily similar - i.e. no matter how dishonest or nonsensical your claims may be, just be as loud and rude as you can and there'll always be people gullible enough to swallow your poison.
As someone who got chucked off a Buffy board for not subscribing to the mods and their inner circle's racism, chauvinism (sometimes by women), and anti LGBT+ takes - yup. Apparently only really the Trekkers are free from the worse examples of GGers.
90% of people I've personally spoken to about Doctor Who since Jodie's announcement and said they're not happy with the current iteration of the show either don't watch Doctor Who or stopped watching after David Tennant left, which is over a decade ago now! I've levelled a lot of criticism towards the show since then, but in my defense I've actually SEEN it. People need to be reminded that the loudest voices telling the general public that the show is bad couldn't give a toss about it before that time. Also, I saw the Human Centipede comments before seeing the diagram but I'm not even mad I'm just impressed that that analogy works so well
I generally stopped watching Doctor Who once Chibnall took over, I picked it up from time to time, but Chibnall wrote some of the worst episodes in New Who for me... his episodes are essentially the episodes that I choose to skip on reruns. He just isn't in my lane of what I like about the show.
Exactly. I stopped watching Doctor Who around the 50th (I deeply do not like that episode, but if you like it that's fine) so I haven't seen the current show, so guess what? I don't talk about it! Because talking about a something you haven't seen is just about the most disingenuous thing you can do.
This whole “woke BBC is wrecking Doctor Who” thing is mind-blowing to me. What show did they think they were watching? It’s always been anti-establishment, it’s always been left-of-centre, it’s always been about rejecting the establishment and helping out the people at the bottom of the pecking order. That’s why it’s about a mad-person with a box and not a Time Cop making sure that the Sacred Timeline is protected. Literally, what show did they think they were watching?

@@SavageBroadcast Politics aren't always in media. Throughout history, there have essentially been two camps of artists. "Art > Politics" and "Politics > Art", very short and wrong descriptions, but it takes too long to explain in detail. But essentially speaking, there are/have been artists who made art to support and spread their political opinion, and there are/have been artists who make art for the sake of it and think politics should be left out entirely. Actually quite interesting, since these movements were at each other's throats during the rise of communism throughout Europe. Though Doctor Who is definitely an example of politics in media, just like a lot of other sci-fi.

Once someone says "I''m not a Doctor who fan, I don't know much about it", that should set off immediate alarm bells that the person probabaly doesn't know what they're talking about and is just saying whatever old shit is popular to say at that time. Obviously has no concern for the show at all, and is only making a video about the show becuase it gets views.
Yeah, I don’t watch and it’s failing so badly I’m using it’s name for click bait. This attitude by some UA-camrs is the reason I stopped trying to find a good channel for Who content. However, I am pleased to have been pointed to this channel, subscribe has been hit.
@@goubs I've been watching Mr Tardis since 2010, the same year I got into Doctor Who. I've always found him to consistently be a fair, honest and down to earth reviewer who shares his honest opinions in a professional way. He doesn't push agenda's or let his own personal views get in the way. To this day he remains the only Doctor Who reviewer I watch.

This is what I love about Mr TARDIS. He is someone who shows his genuine love for the show, and has enough integrity to be upfront and honest with his audience, even if it means less views. He's the kind of guy who would rather help 10 people discover their new favourite show, than gain 1 million subscribers by making click-bait rubbish, and feeding off hatred and outrage.

Cause I believe at the very bottom of the comment section there was a huge comment war with 78 replies the person who started it supposedly was sticking up for Nerdrotic and other reactionaries who bash the show and poor trillbee got into a long argument with that one commenter. Trillbee is indeed one of the few DW fans on UA-cam who genuinely loves the show despite its legitimate flaws and we should respect him. Legit, I saw a Babyface video about the new Revolution Dalek design and say it has "boobs" because its a bit squared off at the front of the casing, and proclaim that this meant the Revolution Daleks would be female. I'm not joking. You'll see reactionary channels do and say a lot, but very rarely do you find one that says "I was wrong."

Great breakdown, I think much of this critics from the US are down to an ideological opposition to the BBC's public ownership model which is total alien to the US. The whole reactionary "Woke" nonsense, well they've obviously only been watch who for a short time because this show has always been progress/political even in the 60's and 70's. Yellow Flash and Overlord DVD are some of the worst with this stuff. Overlord DVD in particular just says that he has sources on the inside, yet none of his rumours ever turn out to be true. It’s unfortunate that people end up believing them
You know what? I don't CARE how flawed Chibnall's era was! I loved it! I loved the Thirteenth Doctor! I'm _never_ gonna let my issues with the show's past make me scared for its future. I didn't like the Timeless Child, or the neoliberal political messaging of Rosa and Kerblam, but I don't CARE! It's _my_ show! Whittaker was my first Doctor whose debut I saw as soon as it aired. I was with Thirteen, throughout her entire journey. And a lot of other young fans were, as well. NOTHING is going to take that away from me, especially not some douchebag like Nerdrotic or Bowlestrek! If that counts as "toxic positivity," so be it! It's better than being a miserable, reactionary troll who would rather bait Whovians into petty arguments, instead of relax and enjoy the longest running science fiction show in human history!
What makes Bowlestrek's Fugitive of the Judoon comment so monumentally stupid, not only does he consider the fucking baker as a villain (not side character portrayed negatively), but in his words the baker is "the villain", not A villain (as in one among a few villains in the episode), THE villain, as in this is guy the Doctor's fighting in an episode called Fugitive of the Judoon
Maybe you could have an entire arc about RAAAAAAAAAAHCISM! Me: wait untill he realizes that this was kinda the entire point of the Daleks when they were first introduced in the in the 1960's, a "Dislike for the unlike'. Not to mention how the 9th Doctor describes the Dalek's plans as the "Ultimate Ethnic Cleansing" in the episode "Dalek".

I'll always think Tom Baker was the best Dr but I'm prepared to admit a lot of that may be nostalgia. I've enjoyed some of the newer Dr and hated some of it but it remains a creative series that isn't afraid to change.
I think the same is true for a lot of Tennant fans. I personally am a huge of of David Tennant as an actor, and have loved his performances in many roles outside of Doctor who, such as Hamlet and Crowley in "Good Omens". But despite that, he isn't my favourite Doctor....I personally have soft spots of Capaldi, McCoy and Troughton among others. 10 was a great doctor, as were all of them really. I don't think there's any actor who did a bad job as the Doctor...it is a consistently well-cast role. I think for a lot of people, they associate themselves most with the Doctor they grew up with and that got them into the show. For many 70s Kids, that will be Tom Baker, with his massive 7-year run. For many 2000s kids, that will be Tennant. Myself? Matt Smith was my first doctor, but he isn't my favourite. Though I do still have that soft spot reserved for him as "my first Doctor". Then again, i've never been very good at picking favourites, and am often inclined to say that all incarnations are my favourite.

Realy appreciate these kinds of videos-I wound up stuck down the nmd rabbit hole for a while, having been drawn in by the Doctor who carrot on the end of the stick, however as I went on I picked up on the racism and homophobia and realised the problem, but many won’t be able too, so thanks for doing stuff like this which might just turn people on to their dodginess. To the people who are going to come and yell 'shill' at Trilbee: if Yellow couldn't get BASIC INFO about the BBC and C5's Anne Boleyn right, why on earth is he a reputable or trustworthy spokesperson? You don't have to like Chibnall to see YF, and his peers, don't respect you as a viewer if he can't do basic IMDB or google searches.

It's been hard time being a fan of Doctor Who, that dosen't agree with this particular era. I don't hate Jodie. I like her I think she's good, could have been a great Doctor. My problems have always been in story and overall direction of the series. Don't believe in this go woke, go broke B.S. A woman can be The Doctor. I just don't think this era and Chibnal has used Jodie to the best of her ability. And, it's hard expressing this without people getting defensive and lumping you in with the yellow flashes of the world sometimes. My position is if this era works for you, good I guess. It wasn't for me and I look forward to seeing the deck get shuffled again and see what the next era brings.
I’m in much the same boat! I do think things got a little more… Openly political? Not sure if that’s the right wording. However I think that Chibnall just wasn’t suited to writing Doctor Who effectively. I’m looking forward to seeing the next iteration! I’m also really happy that they brought in new people during their era too. :D
If this run was exactly as 'woke', exactly as political, exactly as blatantly preachy as it is, but the preaching was done well and with shades of grey, the morality was consistent, the characters were actual characters and the writing was actually good, I'd love it. I'd have complaints but I would like and be defending this series. I can't defend what we have as it's just so poorly written on every level.
I think you guys have misconstrued me a little. My problems aren't with the politicalness of the show. Doctor Who has always been very political. When I say direction, I mean things more like The Doctor's retconned origin, the fact that Yaz is a little bit underused character. And, Chibnal's way being overly plot driven at the expense of the Doctor being an active character. I mean most of the Timeless Children is just The Master expositioning at The Doctor and all Jodie really gets to do is just make faces.

Good video, drives me mad when people cite everything as diversity casting, when would it not be in their mind? I remember even seeing those comments for segun becoming the new composer. Just no thought given to the idea they were the best person they looked at. These people just reaffirm the need for “diversity” casting. Put them front and centre until this trail of thought is eliminated. And who knows we might get some incredible performances from great stars like Jo Martin and Sacha Dhawan

Fandoms is the worse... As a Who fan i have no problem in watching a show headlined by a woman and that is where many of these fans anger began. They have an ideology of it staying the same forever.. However for the show too maintain an audience it needs too change for the better with diversity and writing on staff as well as whom is in front of the camera. But you are also asking fans of British entertainment too change after they had issues with the possibility of a black James Bond.
1:44 On this - the opinion and reach changing may not 100% to be with the network's programming anyway. People treat over 55s as "THE older generation" like they're elderly, when they're not that far from the same level as people in their 20s/30s, technologically speaking, so are turning to streaming services like we (context: I'm 37) in our 20s/30s are doing. Most have it on their Sky/Virgin/Freeview etc boxes, or like my parents have fire sticks. My parents, in their early 60s, watch streaming more now - They love Dark and Jupiter's Legacy on netflix, and enjoy Mandalorian/the Marvel shows on Disney. A 3% drop off on reach kinda means... not much.
Yeah, that news article near the beginning of the video emphasised how the lockdowns pushed many older viewers to streaming services for the first time which is one reason for the change in stats.
(Because for some reason I'm watching your antique reaction videos and I know where the human centipede of discourse got the idea that Doctor Who was beaten in the ratings by The Antiques Roadshow comes from - Overnights. Which as far as metrics go aren't the best to use, but you do sometimes see them reported on. And, for a season or two, Doctor Who was regularly getting lower overnight figures than The Antiques Roadshow, the latter of which didn't timeshift at all and Doctor Who did. As you'd expect from lifestyle filler and drama respectively, and which as the journalist Lizo Mzimba always points out when tweeting about overnights, it's +28 consolidated that's the most significant figure (and which, sadly, BARB no longer put out to the public))

Yellow Flash is mainly in comics and CBMs Things YF hates Jon Kent coming out as Bi Marvel Films with female leads because "woke" messages The Future state JLA because "woke" He's a homophobe, Racist and Sexist And whilst there are legitimate complaints that could be made about Tom Taylors Superman, Modern Marvel films etc, the legitimate complaints people make are overshadowed by the overt anti-diversity of Yellow Flash
Brilliant video. Even as someone who isn't a particularly big fan of the Chibnall era, the constant whinging from some about the show being 'woke' and outrage from people is something I find incredibly cringeworthy. The fact that some of these people making these outrage videos don't even watch or care about the show is just sad really, I can't imagine myself ever dedicating that much time or energy ranting about something I don't watch.

How can you be a fan and claim "wow Doctor Who is SO woke now" when it literally always has been, do these people not know ANYTHING about the Doctor? The Doctor is literally an SJW, someone who fights for the downtrodden and oppressed. And the show has covered many topics in almost 60 years like feminism (Sarah Jane was a feminist, literally confirmed in her first story), global warming, fascism (the Daleks!), pollution, segregation, taxes, sexism, racism, capitalism and so much more. Doctor Who is and has always been "woke", this didn't start with Chibnall and Jodie and it won't end with them either. Also it is interesting how a lot of these reactionary channels started doing videos on Doctor Who after Jodie became the Doctor... hmmm, I wonder why..
I have watched most of the classic Doctor Who but haven't seen much of the new series. I don't have the right streaming service for it right now, but if I ever subscribe to whichever service has it, I'll give it a try. My favorite Doctor is Jon Pertwee - maybe not the most popular choice out there, but I like him. I also like him in The Navy Lark, a long running BBC radio sitcom. Fandom drama is interesting to me, most likely out of morbid curiosity and the enjoyment of a good train wreck. I like many of these franchises that people fight about, but I'm not so invested in them as to construct my identity around them. Furthermore, I question whether this practice of prolonging these old franchises like zombies is a good idea. Maybe it would be better to create new material that is a good fit for the times than to keep resurrecting old material that comes with decades of baggage and legions of grouchy fans. This is the main reason that I don't watch much of the newer material, though all this fandom drama is making me curious about the newer shows, if only to better understand what is causing so many people to have toddler tantrums. If I am to understand the troubled state of fan subcultures better, I need to see some recent Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who. Unfortunately, there are many reactionary channels, and they are popular, so it is challenging to sort through the videos and find useful ones. It is instructive to see some of their angry rants to help to understand the mentality of the more toxic side of the fandom, and they might even make a good point on occasion, but blind hatred runs through their commentaries and bigotry is seldom far from the surface. It's not surprising that people like this often get the facts wrong - they always disregard inconvenient facts that get in the way of their ideology. To be fair, nobody is perfect in this regard, and we should all try to do better, but they don't even try. No matter what your political leanings are, ignoring facts is a great way to undercut your argument. I'm glad I found an intelligent commentary floating in the sea of toxic garbage that is UA-cam. Hopefully by commenting on better ones like this, and liking them, I can coax the algorithm into finding more.
Fantastic video. A lot of americans channels keep complain about Doctor Who just for views. Now complain about Jodie and Chibnall gets a lot of views. Doctor Who will get a soft reboot in 2024, so news fans will come to the show. Is a circle for years. The majority of fans of Russell T Davies left the series after Tennant, in the moffat and Matt Smith era. And it got worse with capaldi era.

sadly people will linger towards some outrage towards anything they see other to them. plus slogans well get stuck in peoples head and they'll just spew out. it is exactly the plan of the vilan in the long game a series they say is non woke and great. when I was younger I started watching channels like nerddarotic but then I was watched the show in correlation with there videos and I just stopped watching them all together at series 11. I popped in at series 12 sky fall and has been blocked since. hopefully less and less people fall for it.
If anyone still thinks UK TV is so lefty and woke, go watch Jack Thorne's MacTaggart lecture (he showruns His Dark Materials), where he talks about the crap disabled creators have to put up with, not having proper support or systems. 1st series of All Creatures reboot and The Drowning miniseries were both original dramas on Channel 5 that aired before Anne Boleyn and achieved several times the viewership; why didn't you mention those?

Wentworth Prison airs on 5Star (Used to Air on Channel 5 but moved to 5Star from Season 4 episode 5 as Channel 5 through Wentworth work better for 5Star then Channel 5)
I'm against woke culture, but this is too far. The only thing I'm worried about is just woke culture destroying anything else entertaining, but that doesn't mean no diversity. I've seen diversity done both right and wrong and can say that I'm very optimistic and a little skeptical. Also the whole woke culture thing has mostly been an issue in the US mostly. Heck one type of media industry has been either changing and/or going downhill because of going woke. I think there's another component here: the reactionaries own viewcounts. See, 1M on a video called 'RIP WOKE DR WHO' may seem like a big deal, but consider: That's a worldwide figure. Even Jodie's worst performing story got three times that, in just one territory (the UK). Do the math, because Who sells internationally, and suddenly, these guys aren't the 'voices of the silent majority'. They're fringe voices who don't represent anyone in a substantial way. EDIT: If my earlier comment wasn't clear enough, let me put it this way: a Nerdrotic video on 'evil Jodie destroys Who' gets, say, 1 million views (that's a global number because UA-cam, well, broadcasts everywhere at once. If we were to divide by region, that's maybe a few hundred-few thousand viewers per. Timeless Children, just in the UK alone, got 4.69 million. In just one area, it's already got 3.69 million more views then N's video worldwide, and much much more than whatever brits saw his video. Timeless Children gets broadcast and sold in hundreds of other territories, like all episodes, so those stats go up even more. Traditional broadcast, streaming, dvd, blu-ray, all of it adds up. Suddenly, while it may have seemed shocking at first, N's video doesn't act as a useful indicator of audience engagement or satisfaction with the show, because said show far outperforms it.
That's...a bad argument in many ways dude. They are an extreme toxic part of the community. But the negative sentiment towards the show is clearly massive. The fact that one shitty, low effort trash video can get so close to DOCTOR FUCKIN WHO is not a good sign at all.

It's not just nerds. This kind of alt-right, evidence-free shit-stirring and spouting lies about non-existent liberal/woke conspiracies infects many people - and, imho, this is where Brexit and Trumpism came from. They may appear to be different phenomena, but they're all largely driven by bigotry, conservatism and a conscious or unconscious hatred of diversity. The tone, language and methods used by the propagandists are also eerily similar - i.e. no matter how dishonest or nonsensical your claims may be, just be as loud and rude as you can and there'll always be people gullible enough to swallow your poison.

90% of people I've personally spoken to about Doctor Who since Jodie's announcement and said they're not happy with the current iteration of the show either don't watch Doctor Who or stopped watching after David Tennant left, which is over a decade ago now! I've levelled a lot of criticism towards the show since then, but in my defense I've actually SEEN it. People need to be reminded that the loudest voices telling the general public that the show is bad couldn't give a toss about it before that time.
Also, I saw the Human Centipede comments before seeing the diagram but I'm not even mad I'm just impressed that that analogy works so well
I generally stopped watching Doctor Who once Chibnall took over, I picked it up from time to time, but Chibnall wrote some of the worst episodes in New Who for me... his episodes are essentially the episodes that I choose to skip on reruns. He just isn't in my lane of what I like about the show.
Exactly. I stopped watching Doctor Who around the 50th (I deeply do not like that episode, but if you like it that's fine) so I haven't seen the current show, so guess what? I don't talk about it! Politics aren't always in media. Throughout history, there have essentially been two camps of artists. "Art > Politics" and "Politics > Art", very short and wrong descriptions, but it takes too long to explain in detail. But essentially speaking, there are/have been artists who made art to support and spread their political opinion, and there are/have been artists who make art for the sake of it and think politics should be left out entirely. Actually quite interesting, since these movements were at each other's throats during the rise of communism throughout Europe.
Though Doctor Who is definitely an example of politics in media, just like a lot of other sci-fi.
I mean, the allegories for villains like Daleks or Cyberman are VERY political.... just to name the two most prominent antagonists in New Who.

You know what? I don't CARE how flawed Chibnall's era was! I loved it! I loved the Thirteenth Doctor! I'm _never_ gonna let my issues with the show's past make me scared for its future. I didn't like the Timeless Child, or the neoliberal political messaging of Rosa and Kerblam, but I don't CARE! It's _my_ show! Whittaker was my first Doctor whose debut I saw as soon as it aired. I was with Thirteen, throughout her entire journey. And a lot of other young fans were, as well. I'll always think Tom Baker was the best Dr but I'm prepared to admit a lot of that may be nostalgia. I've enjoyed some of the newer Dr and hated some of it but it remains a creative series that isn't afraid to change.

I think the same is true for a lot of Tennant fans. I personally am a huge of of David Tennant as an actor, and have loved his performances in many roles outside of Doctor who, such as Hamlet and Crowley in "Good Omens". But despite that, he isn't my favourite Doctor....I personally have soft spots of Capaldi, McCoy and Troughton among others. 10 was a great doctor, as were all of them really. I don't think there's any actor who did a bad job as the Doctor...it is a consistently well-cast role. I think for a lot of people, they associate themselves most with the Doctor they grew up with and that got them into the show. For many 70s Kids, that will be Tom Baker, with his massive 7-year run. For many 2000s kids, that will be Tennant. Myself? Matt Smith was my first doctor, but he isn't my favourite. Though I do still have that soft spot reserved for him as "my first Doctor". Then again, i've never been very good at picking favourites, and am often inclined to say that all incarnations are my favourite.

It's been hard time being a fan of Doctor Who, that dosen't agree with this particular era. I don't hate Jodie. I like her I think she's good, could have been a great Doctor. My problems have always been in story and overall direction of the series. Don't believe in this go woke, go broke B.S. A woman can be The Doctor. I just don't think this era and Chibnal has used Jodie to the best of her ability. And, it's hard expressing this without people getting defensive and lumping you in with the yellow flashes of the world sometimes. My position is if this era works for you, good I guess. It wasn't for me and I look forward to seeing the deck get shuffled again and see what the next era brings.

If this run was exactly as 'woke', exactly as political, exactly as blatantly preachy as it is, but the preaching was done well and with shades of grey, the morality was consistent, the characters were actual characters and the writing was actually good, I'd love it. I'd have complaints but I would like and be defending this series. I can't defend what we have as it's just so poorly written on every level.
I think you guys have misconstrued me a little. My problems aren't with the politicalness of the show. Doctor Who has always been very political. When I say direction, I mean things more like The Doctor's retconned origin, the fact that Yaz is a little bit underused character. And, Chibnal's way being overly plot driven at the expense of the Doctor being an active character. I mean most of the Timeless Children is just The Master expositioning at The Doctor and all Jodie really gets to do is just make faces.

Fandoms is the worse... As a Who fan i have no problem in watching a show headlined by a woman and that is where many of these fans anger began. They have an ideology of it staying the same forever.. However for the show too maintain an audience it needs too change for the better with diversity and writing on staff as well as whom is in front of the camera. But you are also asking fans of British entertainment too change after they had issues with the possibility of a black James Bond.

Which as far as metrics go aren't the best to use, but you do sometimes see them reported on. And, for a season or two, Doctor Who was regularly getting lower overnight figures than The Antiques Roadshow, the latter of which didn't timeshift at all and Doctor Who did. As you'd expect from lifestyle filler and drama respectively, and which as the journalist Lizo Mzimba always points out when tweeting about overnights, it's +28 consolidated that's the most significant figure (and which, sadly, BARB no longer put out to the public))

Even as someone who isn't a particularly big fan of the Chibnall era, the constant whinging from some about the show being 'woke' and outrage from people is something I find incredibly cringeworthy. The fact that some of these people making these outrage videos don't even watch or care about the show is just sad really, I can't imagine myself ever dedicating that much time or energy ranting about something I don't watch.

YellowFlash doesn't need to tell me he doesn't care about Doctor Who, since that is clearly evident and neither do any of the other reactionaries even the ones who claim to be fans like Nerdrotic clearly aren't. How can you be a fan and claim "wow Doctor Who is SO woke now" when it literally always has been, do these people not know ANYTHING about the Doctor? The Doctor is literally an SJW, someone who fights for the downtrodden and oppressed. And the show has covered many topics in almost 60 years like feminism (Sarah Jane was a feminist, literally confirmed in her first story), global warming, fascism (the Daleks!), pollution, segregation, taxes, sexism, racism, capitalism and so much more. Doctor Who is and has always been "woke", this didn't start with Chibnall and Jodie and it won't end with them either. Also it is interesting how a lot of these reactionary channels started doing videos on Doctor Who after Jodie became the Doctor... hmmm, I wonder why..
I have watched most of the classic Doctor Who but haven't seen much of the new series. I don't have the right streaming service for it right now, but if I ever subscribe to whichever service has it, I'll give it a try. My favorite Doctor is Jon Pertwee - maybe not the most popular choice out there, but I like him. I also like him in The Navy Lark, a long running BBC radio sitcom. Fandom drama is interesting to me, most likely out of morbid curiosity and the enjoyment of a good train wreck. I like many of these franchises that people fight about, but I'm not so invested in them as to construct my identity around them. Furthermore, I question whether this practice of prolonging these old franchises like zombies is a good idea. Maybe it would be better to create new material that is a good fit for the times than to keep resurrecting old material that comes with decades of baggage and legions of grouchy fans. This is the main reason that I don't watch much of the newer material, though all this fandom drama is making me curious about the newer shows, if only to better understand what is causing so many people to have toddler tantrums. If I am to understand the troubled state of fan subcultures better, I need to see some recent Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who.
Unfortunately, there are many reactionary channels, and they are popular, so it is challenging to sort through the videos and find useful ones. It is instructive to see some of their angry rants to help to understand the mentality of the more toxic side of the fandom, and they might even make a good point on occasion, but blind hatred runs through their commentaries and bigotry is seldom far from the surface. It's not surprising that people like this often get the facts wrong - they always disregard inconvenient facts that get in the way of their ideology. To be fair, nobody is perfect in this regard, and we should all try to do better, but they don't even try. No matter what your political leanings are, ignoring facts is a great way to undercut your argument.
I'm glad I found an intelligent commentary floating in the sea of toxic garbage that is UA-cam. Hopefully by commenting on better ones like this, and liking them, I can coax the algorithm into finding more.
Fantastic video. A lot of americans channels keep complain about Doctor Who just for views. Now complain about Jodie and Chibnall gets a lot of views. Doctor Who will get a soft reboot in 2024, so news fans will come to the show. Is a circle for years. The majority of fans of Russell T Davies left the series after Tennant, in the moffat and Matt Smith era. And it got worse with capaldi era.
Oh, for a time, I became very familiar with the UA-cam 'Fandom Menace', and it's all about clickbait and ginning up resentment. Most just lie.

when I was younger I started watching channels like nerddarotic but then I was watched the show in correlation with there videos and I just stopped watching them all together at series 11. I popped in at series 12 sky fall and has been blocked since.

1st series of All Creatures reboot and The Drowning miniseries were both original dramas on Channel 5 that aired before Anne Boleyn and achieved several times the viewership; why didn't you mention those?
This was an unscripted video and those examples slipped my mind. They still don't take away from the point, however.

I'm against woke culture, but this is too far. The only thing I'm worried about is just woke culture destroying anything else entertaining, but that doesn't mean no diversity. I've seen diversity done both right and wrong and can say that I'm very optimistic and a little skeptical.
Also the whole woke culture thing has mostly been an issue in the US mostly. Heck one type of media industry has been either changing and/or going downhill because of going woke. And the whole thing about employees of companies and/or corporations insulting fans on social media is a can of worms that just don't think a comment can explain.
If i can offer a recommendation, watch Jack Thorne's (he did His Dark Materials and Enola Holmes) MacTaggart lecture. It's here on UA-cam and he talks about how disabled artists are still being failed, which puts paid to a lot of the 'oh TV so woke' nonsense and that minority groups are still struggling to get anything.

Excellent video. Well considered argument substantiated by facts, numbers and context. I imagine you're probably preaching to the converted however. The bigots, sexists, racists and generally uneducated will always fall behind the likes of the You Tubers you mention. The best we (not you) as consumers can do is give them no attention whatsoever or report them for content, but we must avoid anything that will help their algorithm.
Hate to admit it, but I did use to follow this shite to some extent. But then I started to use some common sense and realise that it's all just an echo-chamber for the mis-informed and the mis-guided. I cringe at the fact I watched their stuff 😂

I think there's another component here: the reactionaries own viewcounts. See, 1M on a video called 'RIP WOKE DR WHO' may seem like a big deal, but consider: That's a worldwide figure. Even Jodie's worst performing story got three times that, in just one territory (the UK). Do the math, because Who sells internationally, and suddenly, these guys aren't the 'voices of the silent majority'. They're fringe voices who don't represent anyone in a substantial way.
EDIT: If my earlier comment wasn't clear enough, let me put it this way: a Nerdrotic video on 'evil Jodie destroys Who' gets, say, 1 million views (that's a global number because UA-cam, well, broadcasts everywhere at once. If we were to divide by region, that's maybe a few hundred-few thousand viewers per. Timeless Children, just in the UK alone, got 4.69 million. In just one area, it's already got 3.69 million more views then N's video worldwide, and much much more than whatever brits saw his video. Timeless Children gets broadcast and sold in hundreds of other territories, like all episodes, so those stats go up even more. Traditional broadcast, streaming, dvd, blu-ray, all of it adds up. Suddenly, while it may have seemed shocking at first, N's video doesn't act as a useful indicator of audience engagement or satisfaction with the show, because said show far outperforms it.
