- At the Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points, Atlanta, Georgia, during the second encore, Butch Walker surprised the crowd by reuniting the Marvelous 3 and performing Freak of the Week.
What a killer pop song. You hear this and realize what an influence Butch was on about a million early 2000s bands.
their happiness and joy playing this is contagious.... man, they look like theyre having the times of their lives.... they deserve it... would love to see more of marvelous 3 always thought they were underrated for the time

James Wittkoski My thoughts exactly. It must be a fact that Butch knows any solo success he has enjoyed is due largely to Marvelous 3. The fans were so great in their singing along. Thank-You to pghsteelerchick1 for posting. This song is excellent.

Best afternoon set I ever saw at a festival. 1999, and we just happened to be staying at the same hotel and I got to meet them. Changed my life. Tightest live band. Got to see them do a few songs in Atlanta Summer of 2006

Thanks! It's a Sony Alpha NEX 5R with a 55-210 lens. I do not know a lot about cameras, but this thing is surprisingly compact, it has great motion control, it auto-refocuses quickly, and it takes amazing still photos even in dark concert venues. You would love the photos I got from this concert! As for the video, it is HD quality and impressive considering we were over 50 ft from the stage.
Really miss these guys.

Last I heard, Jayce and Slug are involved in Christian and Worship music. I heard that Jayce is the worship leader at his home church somewhere in Georgia.
God damn this makes me so moist and takes me right back to High School. I miss these guys so much and would love to see a reunion tour or perhaps a new album one day.

Jayce, and his wife Christina sing at a huge church in GA. their son is doing big things now adays, -not so distant relative
I was around and with the group when they were Floyds funk revival. I was a hometown girl in a near small city about 15 -20 min from Rome, Cartersviille Ga. I always loved Joyce and Christina and remembered her and talking about her father was a pastor, my grandpa was. I'm not surprised they're in Atlanta involved very much with music in a local church. They've all done amazing things, the group as individuals.Happy to see your comment.

Interesting. I have a Sony NEX-5 (2 versions older than yours, I think) with the 18-55mm lens, and I've only tried using it to record video at a show once, and the sound was muffled because the bass was just too loud. I wonder if that had more to do with how the band had their sound set up or if it was the camera itself. In any case, thanks again for sharing these videos - I loved watching and it looks like you all had an amazing time!
