Vanish Canvas is the best “pretty” metalcore song in 15 years
I think a lot of erras songs carry that “pretty sound”, the hypnotist is my favorite of that kind of vibe
@@cruzwaerness7978 I was trying to find a less elitist word to use and at the time that was the best I could come up with lmao. But I guess my intent there was those more straight forward clean driven emotional tracks. Before Vanish I’d argue Skyline was their best attempt. But Vanish is everything that was and more. Lyrically it was just what I needed too. But you’re hard pressed to find an ERRA song that’s not “pretty” in some way. Even JTs growl on Scorpion Hymn 😂
@@monkvsiron I agree completely, skyline was the first song I heard by erra and I was hooked. But finding a song by this band that doesn’t have a mesmeric feel is a tall task!

This album is absolutely amazing. It's so dynamic and well composed. It covers a wide variety of the metal scene all while sticking to it's djent/metalcore base. I am so glad they released this album after 2020. What a fantastic way to kick the year off. Incredibly beautiful and heavy riffage contrast perfectly to bring massive depth to this album. I hope people don't forget this album in December.
I can't choose between Lunar Halo and Vanish Canvas. The best two songs of the LP to me. My favourite album was Drif until this masterpiece came out.
This and Remnant are easily my two favorite songs on this album.

One of their “softer” songs on the album, but also quite atmospheric and theatrical. This whole album is pretty impeccable.

I love Eidolon. I have a really tough time picking a favorite from the album because every single song is pretty amazing. I can at least say that Lunar Halo is my least favorite but it's still a banger, I just don't really like the chorus. Eidolon is top 3 though

Erra is a progressive metalcore band btw :) and for next Erra song you check out if you wanna still check some new stuff i would recommend Remnant, but if you wanna check some older stuff i would say react to Dementia because that song is a epic emotional heavy song and one of the best songs ever created in music.
If you like this, I recommend Oh, Sleeper, especially "Vices like Vipers" and "Son of the Morning/ The Finisher" combo
