Just seen you aren't much appreciated on the CEDH sub reddit. Not interested in this commander, but I thought I'd take the time to point out that you have been the most helpful and entertaining resource I've seen on cedh, with Spike Feeders a close 2nd. Do not let them drag you down, as a lot of "advice" they give is just dismissive of entire ideas rather than exploring them.
Thank you that means a lot. It really does. I guess they hate me for different reasons. I don't really care about it. I wanna inspire people and think outside the box. I don't claim everything I do is top tier cEDH. But I really like exploring weaker parts of the format and improve weaker decks too. Still to this day I don't see what's wrong with that.
@@cedhtv I like how you can verbalize your thought processes. You really resonate with my style of thinking. I get so educated by you by watching your videos.
I sort of assumed that since you are focused on graveyard synergies you would have a way to sacrifice your hate pieces to change their target or break their symmetry. Like claws of gix or Phyrexia's core.
I really liked Emry when she was spoiled. And the first thing I though about was including her in the 99 of my Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck. However, on her own, I considered using her the same exact way you described: infinite mana with Lotus Petal and Mirran Spy. Unfortunately, after Urza, he's become the benchmark for mono-blue commanders since he can actually do something with infinite mana all his own. Emry would need more cards to take advantage of infinite mana. For me, the only edge Emry has over Urza is that she can be consistently cast on turn 1. Ironically, you could include Urza in the 99 as the deck's wincon. I feel that Emry in the command zone will paint a smaller target on your head than starting the game with Urza in it.
I'm no cEDH player but I like your channel a lot, I really appreciate what you do here and have become more interested in cEDH thanks to content like yours. I think you help people like me get better at playing and evaluating cards even for casual environments. I also love your accent, lol
A lot of people like my accent. Glad it is good for something :). I think most of my advice and teachings can be applied to all power levels of EDH. Even tho the channel if focused for the competitive part I am glad all levels find something of value here.
I like seat of synod with her. That and a zero cost mana rock makes for some good turn 1 plays or even interaction after casting her and passing turn. Great video as well!
Glad I watched this video after building a prototype online. Our thinking was very similar but I still left feeling educated from this video. A couple weeks ago I decided that I'd pull apart Sharuum as I was bored with her and decided that Emry will be the new blue Artifact commander on the block.
She also has the benefit of being easier to cast after being killed, sense she's going to be in an artifact deck, she shouldn't cost more then 1 blue for atleast 2 to 3 casts.
I am wanting to test her in my Mishra deck. I think might be helpful with filtering my deck and able to recur utility artifacts when needed. I also need to get mystic forge...
@@cedhtv I see, every place I go people are talking that this is the BEST 2 Mana rock ever printed. Just as good for Casual as it is for semicompetitive. Is this just a overreaction? Just hype? I was looking at the prices of this card and I'm sure it's not worth it, but maybe I'm wrong...
@@pmotaviano1650 It is probobly the best 2 cost rock for sure. But it not as good as it price tag. You actually don't need it that much. Yes it is the best. But you can do fine with talismans and the other signets. also you still have fellwar stone. Wait until it gets reprinted and drops in price.
If you could make a different mono blue commander what would it be? My playgroup and I were discussing this because all we really see in mono blue is either Artifacts or Card Draw.
Urza and mono blue PW teferi are in general better than her because of the mentioned stax pieces that urza has and the fact that chain veil is easier to tutor for than a creature (mirrian spy) id even say this is worse than arcum dagsom because hes a tutor to board on a stick. Her boon of using the graveyard is also a bane since so many Cedh decks run graveyard hate. So as far as CEdh monoblue artifact commanders go. Shes probablly 3rd or 4th best but who knows, shes new and I could be wrong. As far as casual or non artifact mono blue commanders go I personally really like Talrand. A lot of mono colored commanders tend to all play the same once the combos are "found out" and put on edhrec and message boards. You should probablly just pick a deck style or combo you like and choose the commander around that choice.
@@cedhtv You should do No-Shave November if certain people in your life wouldn't cast you out. Also I wanted to say I really enjoy your channel. My playgroup and I aren't near a cEDH level but we enjoy ourselves. I find the game play and your card reviews to be very entertaining and insightful.
You don't have to be cEDH to hang here. All my advice and teachings can be used for casual power level too. I am just glad my work is helpfull for people.

Quick note: grafdigger's cage actually stops you from casting artifacts from your graveyard using emry.
Yeah, I played it in my Elsha deck and realised it makes no sense. Here is it even worse

You are officially my favourite cedh Channel, when I get paid new , i am going to become a Patron thank you so much for doing this review
You are welcome I am glad my work is helping you out.

I didn't realize mirran spy was a thing. Thanks for this video, hopefully I can put my lion's eye diamond to use now. :D
Thanks for the ideas on Emry, I am definitely making it for sure, but not competitively.

Great video Mons!, what are the chances of we seeing a video about Hackball? Kinda hard chain of tutors!
I have added it to my: peoples wish list.
I run Emry in Jhoira W. Captain so I might try out that combo with Mirran Spy for fun.
She also has the benefit of being easier to cast after being killed, sense she's going to be in an artifact deck, she shouldn't cost more then 1 blue for atleast 2 to 3 casts.
I want her to be good. I love the art
Glad you mentioned mirran spy, I noticed it as I was looking through certain interactions hah
I am wanting to test her in my Mishra deck. I think might be helpful with filtering my deck and able to recur utility artifacts when needed. I also need to get mystic forge...
Love your vids!! Keep them up!! Thank you!
I WILL!
I really like Emry she's definitely one of the better commanders from this set. I also like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell
Awesome card ill probably add to alot of my decks. Any chance you will review hushbringer?
I don't think I will have time to do that sadly.
I'll play it in my Sai, master thopterist deck! I think it's the most obvious deck where it fits
i wouldnt run back to basics, since you can't untap artifact lands, which you will want in your deck most likely
i think Emry is better than urza as u can cast her 1st turn.
she also can disregard cmdr tax
u can add urza in d 99
Would you add her in an Urza deck?
Good question. I think I would add her in Jhoira. For Ursa I am not sure. I might.
Muito bom! Ótimas ideias
Hey there,
I didn't see if you said something about this yet, but what are your thoughts on Arcane signet? Is it going to see competitive play?
Its better than fellwar stone and that sees quite a bit of play. So yeah more than likely.
Correct. It is a decent 2 cost rock. Nothing wrong with it. Better than talismans too.

Emry STOMPS on Urza all day my dude. Not even a comparison. Emry usually wins on turn 2/3.
Muldrotha and emry are so Different
How does your hair grow so fast.
I have no idea. I have to shave every day to keep my beard away.
