@@WanderingWeekends I guess you could argue they accomplish both. In theory you should have to loosen the nut to get the sensor off and since it requires tools its an "anti-theft" device. That being said I would still argue its primary job is to prevent the sensor coming loose and falling off.
Got a question for ya...just saw some chatter in another video about needing steel valve stems with these sensors. Since you've towed your rig halfway across the country since your install, have you seen any issue with your rubber valve stems and these sensors?
@@WanderingWeekends I actually found the product documentation, and it states that rubber stems are fine, but they "highly recommend" metal stems and at a minimum get new stems when getting new tires. Hope to pull the trigger on this product soon.
Great video. Besides the spares, where did you place the other four sensors? Are they just on your trailer tires or did you put a few on the trailer and two on the truck's rear tires? Just curious.
TIP: Flip your truck spare tire over so the valve stem is facing the ground and pointing to the back, so that it's easy to check and add air. Factory install typically has the valve stems facing up.
Eric Adkins I didn’t see one nor was it mentioned in the instructions. I disconnected when I put the trailer back in storage. Took 15 seconds. I would like to see that feature though.
Thanks for reply. I'm shopping for a TPMS now. I didn't realize Tire Minder had a system that wasn't using Bluetooth to the phone. Better price than the TST 507 too.
Great video and thank you very much for the promo code. I have never really had a TPMS before, just checked the tires and never had an issue and have traveled all over the US. Now with technology, guess I can use this, if just for a piece of mind. As always, enjoy the great videos.
Great info, I never thought about the spares. Getting our new TT towards the end of next month so this is on my must have list. Hope to run into you (not literally LOL) sometime.
Great video. I would encourage people to also put them on their tow vehicle even if it has factory TPMS. The reason is factory TPMS only monitors tire pressure and will not indicate (warn) of excessive high pressure or Tire temperature.
Love the video. Thanks. One minor suggestion, I'd tie down the signal booster the last after testing out. You might need to find new location for it if you have different rig.
I've been using Truck Systems Technologies TPMS for 5 years. Without TPMS, you're running blind. The very first time I traveled with it, I picked up a screw in a tire, and it saved me from damage. Don't leave home without it.
Great video. Love the review. I have pretty much the same setup as you (ford f250 and imagine 2800bh) so it's nice seeing your mods and videos. Are you still happy with the system? For reference what temp and PSI do you set at thresholds for your setup? Thanks in advance.
Actually we are switching to an internal system. The weight of the TireMinder sensors was placing too much stress on the valve stems. I'll keep you updated. I have removed the system for now.
Umm....so how exactly do I make it so you see that I shared it? I am part of a couple travel trailer model specific groups that I would like to share this with. But I don't think that Wandering Weekends is a member of these groups. Still going to share it though. Thanks for all your videos. We love the campground reviews! Spent a few days at Elijah Clarke State Park last month, quite the facility they have especially the day use, hoping to go back when everything is "open"
What kind of shackles are you using on your hitch for safety chains?
Josh Collins just some simple d-rings I picked up at tractor supply.
The lock isn't an anti theft device but rather it prevents the Pressure Monitor from getting loose and coming off.
Jet Driver hmm... the TireMinder site specifically calls them anti-theft. 🤷🏻♂️

I've never heard that...

Yes, trailer tires. Most trucks built in the last 10-15 years have TPMS.
TIP: Flip your truck spare tire over so the valve stem is facing the ground and pointing to the back, so that it's easy to check and add air. Factory install typically has the valve stems facing up.
I did that to my last truck... many said they mount it facing up to protect the valve stem...
Excellent review. Thank you. Very useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this review and I placed the order with your promo code. As always, love your videos. Thanks so much!!
Great! Glad you saved some hard earned money!!
What a great idea on the two extra monitors! Just ordered my TPMS with your code. Thank you!
Oh great! Glad it saved you some cash!!
Does the booster have an on/off switch so it's not pulling on the battery when the trailer is parked?

I think that cool what you are doing.some day I hope to save $$ for that system. Thks
Appreciate you watching!

Stop by and say hi if you see us!!
Nice
Love it. I have a single axle trailer, so all 6 would go on the working tires!
Good call!
Love the channel. Thanks for the chance to win.
Thanks to you guys for watching!

Maybe on the tongue jack?
The code didn't work
Those are sweet! Thanks Cory!
That's a great idea getting 6 of them !
hey a spare isn't a spare if its flat!!
Great review. What type of adaptor you have for your chains to hook to? I always have a hard time getting chains hooked to my F250.
Just a couple of D-ring shackles. These were from Tractor Supply. Ace Hardware, Lowe’s, or Home Depot will probably have them as well.

David Kendall no doubt that most tire issues come from improper inflation.
@@WanderingWeekends Plus poor quality tires.
Thanks for the video. First review I’ve seen for this new version TPMS. Like the size of the monitor. How long does the charge last on it?
Not sure, I've only had it for two trips now. I've kept it plugged into my truck.
@@WanderingWeekends with a full charge it will last 10 hours
Great video! Needing a TPMS, just don't have the cash!
Very nice Cory!

6 why need 8
julie riddle our truck came factory with pressure monitoring...
Nice video. I need a system like this on my setup. How’s the new truck holding up?
Its doing great so far Not a single issue. The oil burner is nice but I am not convinced it's worth an extra 10 grand. Oh well.
Wandering Weekends keep us updated. I’ll be upgrading the half ton and I’m torn between diesel/gas.
I think the winner should be for first comment
you won our heart... haha
We have a tireminder but I think it’s a fake we bought it at a yard sale the screen is like teeny tiny very hard to see especially for older eyes
Uh oh! Maybe you'll win the real deal :-)
Wandering Weekends fingers crossed 🤞 lol
