I think the reason they did that was because the existing one got blocked by items. It doesn’t happen to me at all when I gave them a kitchen and crafting table..
i gave one of my villagers a perfectly accessable crafting bench, and she decides to put the exact same one right next to itinstead of using the one i gave her
They don’t put gifts in the house after you’ve renovated it, I’ve given mine a few things with no change! Also for kitchens and crafting, they just place a temporary stove or crafting table somewhere. Similar to how villagers with no crafting tables in their house just spawns one when they’re crafting
Does this include gifting them clothing? If it’s something they don’t like you just won’t ever see them wear it or will they be forced to wear it since they won’t place it in their renovated house? If someone knows, I would love to know!

I just wanna say, I appreciate that you aren't rigorously committed to color coordinating your builds. There are a lot of designs on instagram and twitter that have a theme and just simply use one or two matching colors, and sure enough they're gorgeous, there is nothing wrong with that, but for me personally it could get a bit overwerhelming and kinda claustrophobic at times lol Your designs aren't mismatching either, but they have just enough color pop that it looks more dynamic and lively. So thanks for the inspiration! 😊

I am a little be "extra" with my villager houses. I have made sure to fit a fully functional bathroom ( toilet, shower or bath, sink ), and a kitchen in their houses, and a bedroom area. And I'm surprised how much I can fit with some creativity.
Fr, the villager homes layouts are so unoptimised. I remodelled Marina's home with her base items and still had enough space to add walls, bath and fancy vanity.
I got Sasha a few weeks ago and gave him new york fashun loft vibes. Also for anyone who cares, Apollo and Erik are kinda the ship of my island after some... interesting gift exchanges involving pajamas, towels, protein powder and a puzzle... i felt like a messenger btwn two lovers for several months Whitney officiated the wedding

She pays her rent by working the cash register at a shell company restaurant owned by the mob. The kitchen staff are all felons and they cook everything in microwaves.
My island's ship is Coco and Bob. They're always in each others houses, always near each other, and are always thinking of the other in almost all my convos with them. Coco likes that Bob has such a down to earth personality that brings her overworking tendancies to a halt, and Bob appreciates that Coco is always there for him when he needs it. There was also a time Coco said she asked Bob to help her run and to push her, but other villagers just saw it as "strolling" because Bob didn't want to push her too hard. Very sweet and I will be officiating their wedding :)
i did quite a bit of testing (giving some villagers no stove/diy bench, giving some one but not the other with the hope that they'd replace either one depending on whether they're cooking or crafting) and i found out that if you don't give them a stove plus diy bench then they will replace something random in the south east corner. if anybody is fussy about that sort of shit like i am, bear that in mind and add both items when remodelling! :D i'm so happy they don't display gifts anymore, finally i can sell them those fleas and fish they're always so eager to buy off me lol.

I’ve renovated half of my villagers’ homes and they don’t display any gifts after the renovation. They do however move certain stuff to replace with a kitchen or diy table if you don’t place that for them. They do put the stuff back when they’re done crafting tho.

The cranky villagers have interesting designs for the orginal houses. My horse Roscoe called his a man cave, and Woflgangs is similar but the wolf has better spacial design than the horse.

Something you can do in resident services is you can complain to Isabelle about a villager and choose their house and it will set their house to default this is really helpful for starters because then they get their actual home
the muffy story pained me so much cause its my dogs name and i only found out theres an animal crossing villager named muffy later on😭 shes doing her best out here
i was ecstatic to get to 30 vacation homes bc my two best girlies on my island were done so dirty molly was one of my first 5 so she's been stuck with the boring starter home interior, and when muffy moved into canberra's spot the exterior stayed the same so my poor goth gf had a lame log cabin exterior now they've both been fixed and we are living our absolute best lives

I made all my villager houses cabins with cabin walls and wood floors inside. Tried to use as much of their original house stuff and made sure they at least had a crafting bench. Though I may go and give a stove to whoever I didn't give a stove to.
For me, growing up, I had the reverse happen. My parents were forcing colors on me when I wanted to wear black and neutrals. I think a lot of colors don't suit me and I would always feel like shit, except in a few items that were nice (Deep purples or Burgundy, Marine Blue). Took me some years to figure out It's because i'm an olive bitch and my kid self was right to go towards neutrals.
I was unsure because in another video I first heard the Dom slander but now I love how messy everyone is 😭 I never thought to pay more attention to character interactions. I miss I headcanon some people together and even an adoptive daughter and adoptive dad pair but this is so much more in depth and more funnn
I’m not sure if you found out this in the video or whatever, but you can renovate every house without time traveling in a day and they will all be ready by the next day

I made all my villager houses cabins with cabin walls and wood floors inside. Tried to use as much of their original house stuff and made sure they at least had a crafting bench. Though I may go and give a stove to whoever I didn't give a stove to.

For me, growing up, I had the reverse happen. My parents were forcing colors on me when I wanted to wear black and neutrals. I think a lot of colors don't suit me and I would always feel like shit, except in a few items that were nice (Deep purples or Burgundy, Marine Blue). Took me some years to figure out It's because i'm an olive bitch and my kid self was right to go towards neutrals.
