Hi, just to say that the Artist D may have two Z motors but they are not independent, they run off one stepper driver, that is why they are inked with a belt.

is there is a way to upgrade the Anet ET5 to IDEX dual extruders

I have a Tenlog-03Pro, wich seems quite simular to the Artist-D Pro.
There is one big disadvantage to theese two "big" IDEX printers: Any printer moving the bed in y can not use a thick, extreme flat printbed without reducing speed a lot, as it would be quite heavy and cause ringing on higher acceleration. So on theese printbeds you will get different bending with different temperatures.
Manual leveling only takes care of the "tilt" of the bed. Due to bending you can only archive a compromise if bending is within a certain limit. This is there Mesh Bed Leveling takes in. You can do this manualy, if the firmware alows you to do so. ABL-sensors do this automaticly and also compensate for remaining tilt. So adding ABL is one oft the first upgrade most tinkerers do. Many bigger size single-head 3d-printers have ABL already build in.
But: IDEX can not use ABL in duplex and mirror mode (at least for now). Both printheads are on diferent positions at the same time. So the mesh maybe gives -0.1mm as correction for the position head 1 is. But if the z-axis moves down 0.1 to compensate for head 1 and head 2 is at a position it needs +0.15 for compensation, head 2 would crash into the bed...
Only way to compensate both heads at the same time would be tilting the y-axis, with z1 and z2 rotating in different direction. Which is neither supported by the firmware (but might be in the future) nor mechanicly (tilting might be possible a bit due to tollerances, but might cause blockade and missing steps in the current design).
So in my opinion mirror and duplicate modes barly increase anything on the "bedshaker" printers. On the creator pro the situation is totaly different. The bed is smaller but thicker - there is no noticable bending. It is flat. "Leveling" is only to take care for tilt. Quite easy, no mesh needed. So mirror and duplex work fine - on my Tenlog it work only from time to time with many efford to find the right compromise leveling and adjusting the right levelhight. I might replace the bed by an finemilles casted alluminum (and slow down speed to avoid ringing) or add ABL and not use mirror and duplex at all.
You seem to be in the lucky situation your Artist-D has a more flat bed.
But neither the less you can draticly increase speed multiple times with an IDEX. Not only you can use different colours or materials - you also can use different nozzle size. So if you have an object with some fine details, you might print theese with 0.2mm, but all the rest with 0.6. This would be multiple times faster than printing everything with 0.2...
If you have an electronic project and want to print a box for it withe some text an maybe a logo, you might print text and logo in one colour and the rest of the box with anothe (make sure the smaler nozzle is on the first head).
Altogether for a beginner I would strictly recommend the Creator, not the Artist-D.

watched few of your videos and you showing the same prints & saying you printed with any printer you review .Also the JG Maker Artist-D Pro has lots of issues and the printing quality is not as good. Reviews should be truly and not what companies prompt you

Hello what is a dual head 3d printer versus an independent dual extruder 3d printer? pursa xl will have multiple heads but say a bamboo x1 only has one hand but a multiple filament option. Which is better for multi color?

Hi i have a tenlog D6 ive added screw type bed clips but need to know what and where i can insert a value to make the extruders lift higher juring the change as it moves up a little and goes to the x/y 300 then moves sideways to home to change to the other extruder but can hit the clamps on low levels and depending where the print is placed on the bed.So basically need it to move to x/y 300 then go up diagonally to home higher and both sides do the same to and fro. can you help cheers David

Just started my own adventure with IDEX. Got myself a Tenlog-D3 Pro
So far it's looking like a great printer 310x310x350 .. DUAL independent Z axis as well
    Has photoelectric sensors.
So far I have only used in dual mode for supports
Will have to look into the Mirror and Duplicate modes soon
And I can't believe how quiet it is. You can only hear the extruder fans when they kick in
Even when homing, I have to look and check it's switched on
When homing, the Z axis will auto adjust each rod to get perfect level gantry

@@carlesp.r.8441 It's a GREAT machine. Getting great prints Multi color prints are spot on.
It has taken over as my primary machine .... that is until my Ratrig turns up :) .... but for dual print, it can't be beaten

What do you think of the Geeetech A30T printer And is a single Extruder better than a Dual one like the JG Maker

I have the FFCP 2. The only thing I don't like about it is the PTFE lined hotend and the limitation on the max temperature. I have two FFCP (2016 Model) printers that I upgraded to Bondtech dual extruders and Microswiss all metal hotends. I also upgraded the beds to make them wider. As of right now, there are no upgrades available for the FFCP 2.

Is it possible to print faster in mirror-modus than in dublicate-mode?
Because the 2. Extruder compensates for the vibration of the 1. Extruder.

Awesome, thank's for the warning about pets. I really need to build my own enclosure with wood planks or something to keep the whole thing secured and ventilated... Whatever will be my choice of a first printer. I really need multi-material, or a tool changer like the Jubilee 3D system that the Proper Printing dude suggested me. I still have some time to make the right choice, so I'm still looking around a lot x) Got a think about everything. Opensourceness is very important to me, too.

I purchased the JGMaker Artist D Pro and was so disappointed with the extruders I basically threw them out and replaced them with 2 Omniadrop extruders. It’s like a new machine. The print quality is amazing and with the added raspberry pi Octoprint it’s an amazing printer. I can’t say enough about OmniaDrop, I sent Max my two extruders and two weeks later I had two Omniadrop extruders that fit and worked flawlessly, including a breakout board that interfaces with the ribbon cables. The only thing I had to do was to dial in the Vref to 0.50 for the two 2209 stock drivers.

Version 5 of Flashforge is due by the end of the month so maybe we will see this and other options added.
People looking for the best possible quality on a Flashforge printer tend to use Simplify3d. To get CreatorPro 2 support you need to email their support people and they will send it to you for free.
