The fact that there are no hysterical people running around looting or mostly peaceful protesting is a testament to the fortitude of the Taiwanese people.
they raise them and educate them correctly.
Nah, they just rejected multi culturalism. They also allow their people to be proud of their country, they had to deal with serious problems for a very long time so they are more grounded to reality, instead of the average American, alot of Europeans are even becoming delusional even though 2 world wars were fought bakc to back on that soil. The people in EU have become Americanized.

Hi, one of your viewers here from USA living in Taiwan, China always has military activity, even if they tried it would be catastrophic on their side Taiwan is a military porcupine, the island does not need the military to help with relief , the people here in Taiwan know how to work together, and the gov knows how to deal with these events as they have learned well from the past. the USA media is blowing it up into a catastrophic event which it wasn’t at all, but it’s nice to see we all over the map and people showing support and concern again. To be honest his is the last thing the CCP wants which is more attention to Taiwan haha .
China has military activity in their own territory? How dare they!
Taiwan number one!

She sounded like a parakeet in heat. Lot of noise and chitter chatter.

Well, at 0:55, she was saying, “大家不要緊張” which translates to “everyone, don’t be afraid”
I grew up in California where earthquakes aren't unusual, and you get use to them to a certain extent. Taiwan gets 10x as many quakes as CA, so I can understand how she remained calm.
People who lives in the pacific ring of fire are used to it.
When a devastating earthquake occurred in Byzantium, the Ottomans used the opportunity to invade and cross into Europe. It's simple military strategy to use natural disasters to your benefit, so it wouldn't be surprising if China took this opportunity.

Tesla, I mean Nikola, made an earthquake machine back in the day. Also, look into geoengineering.
Not saying that this is from that but I am saying this is from that.

It always bothered me when other people said Taiwan is not a country. It was always a country. Do they have their own leadership? Yes. Do they listen to what China says and obey them? No. They are a country as far as I'm concerned.
You are very correct!
The Republic of China is the true legitimate government of mainland China.
Did they separate with the CCP back then? Yes, then that classifies them as a separate entity and thus a country

Everything is fine in Taiwan. A number of buildings were damaged near the epicenter, there has been damage to some infrastructure but for the most part life goes on immediately after an earthquake here. I was in the expressway when it hit, my car was bouncing, the elevated commuter train just above me was making a terrible noise, but when I got to work and told my employer I was returning home to check on my wife, I was looked at like I was being an unreasonable idiot. No one here is losing his mind over an invasion.”
It’s time to resign.
Thank you, Mr Wang. I appreciate your report.
Good to hear everything is okay 👍🏻
Yeah, just more classic american fear mongering.
Is your wife ok? I commented earlier that I admire how nobody was panicking or screaming or all crazy. They seemed to face the danger calmly and with dignity. In my opinion your boss was out of line. If the phone didn't work then absolutely you should go to check on your wife. Family is more important than any job unless you are a first responder. There may be a few exceptions but you get the point.
Been in a 6.7 quake, this is no joke at 7.5, only 4 deaths reported so far though so lets hope for the best.
That's because they build their buildings to very high earthquake standards - like Japan. Taiwan isn't a 3rd world country.

That's not a tsunami. It's a small wave. Or a ripple.
What you forget to take into account is that these waves are extremely long. When they hit shallow water, these 30cm waves are compressed so to speak and get much higher.
On high sea most Tsunamis arent much larger than that. The danger of a tsunami is not it's size. Also I believe he talked of a 30 foot tsunami which would be like 10m
It was on an island off Japan, so Japan has to take it seriously because Tsunami's get bigger as they travel.

Taiwan has Earthquakes almost on a daily basis but they are so mild that you don't feel anything. The Taiwanese government always sends warnings both in Chinese and in English to all Taiwanese phone numbers. Because of the last deadly Earthquake, Taiwan government put very strict building codes in place so the buildings won't collapse. I don't know about the old buildings where the plumbing is so old and bad that you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet. There are apps and cartoons made for children and toddlers so they know what to do. Taiwan is prepared and they also have bunkers with English signs so you know where to hide underground in case a missile hits. Military training is mandatory for men. I hope both animals and people will be all right after this tragic event.
The place I live in has earthquakes on a daily basis and nobody would think it would have any... I don't know what your point is. Yeah most countries that have earthquakes put building rules in a very very long time ago... Taiwan was late to the party on that one... again what is your point?
Fear mongering does nothing but being fear to those who know better. Exclude the fear of what could be and you'll see it as clear as day.
Its crazy how calm they all seemed to be.
Panic is unnecessary & will not change the situation, said Tuvok the Vulcan
this is why lol Since Taiwan is located on the circum-Pacific seismic zone, earthquake occurrence is quite frequent, and strong earthquakes occur quite often as well. According to the Central Weather Administration's earthquake monitoring information between 1900~1990, the average number of earthquakes in Taiwan is approximately 2,200
I was thinking this exact same thing.
And no one is mostly peacefully protesting.
@@lancemcque1459 😁👍
There are still aftershocks and many of the buildings are developing serious cracks and structural issues which will become a serious problem later when the rebound hits the area. I have relatives in Taipei and it’s pretty serious. Fortunately the death toll is minimal and TSMC wasn’t damaged…at least not that they’re revealing at the moment.
Most of the photos and video I have seen are from today.
Finally, between now and around August Typhoons are minimal and the sea is calm…so this period is particularly “good” for any kind of invasion. I don’t think China would split second decide to invade Taiwan right after the earthquake…the optics would be bad…even for China.
Taipei is one of the best built cities on earth for earthquakes - especially the big buildings. Taiwan has numerous earthquakes every year, so this one isn't going to put them at any higher risk from Chinese invasion than any other quake. Don't listen to the fear mongers.
