He's talking about having gratitude for being able to be in awe of the pure splendor of nature (enjoying a sunset, enjoying moments with friends), and how just like the majesty of being able to enjoy life and nature, God gave him life and loves him.
I might be reading too much into it, but the lyrics feel too big just to be about romance.
