Hi Spring! Greetings from New York City! I also just got a Ashton Drake Destiny doll and her eyes look purple and her hair is like brillo. But overall, she is a very high quality doll. I hate sending dolls back so I dont. You can change your dolls eyes yourself. Just log onto facebook and in those ashton drake/masterpeiece doll groups they will give you instructions on how to change the eyes. But it would involve removing her head or going thru her skull. Back in December, I bought a handmade porcelain artist doll, and it had red eyes. People say she looks like a demon! Stay safe and thank you for your great videos. Keep up the great work!

Your Cai sculpt is a cutie and I also love Ping Lau sculpts. It's great that you got to meet the artist. My big girl who I call Liana from Ashton Drake (Lara) has a slight reddish tint to her eyes but mostly brown looking when not in bright light or sun light. I had a minor problem with the back of her hair where there are a few short cut pieces where it should be long. Any doll you buy may run the risk of defects because I don't think that the Chinese manufacturer does a quality control inspection before the dolls go out to mail. My doll's defect I can work around but it's not right that she had any defects. I buy Barbies that sometimes have flaws and defects and Mattel is a huge toy company but because they are made overseas, no one is as picky about their products. My doll, Liana says hello to her distant twin, Natalia Bella. Natalia Bella looks precious in her new dress/sparkle shoes. Stay safe and well.

Same thing happened to the grace doll I got from Ashton Drake. Her hair is awful! Matted and very dry. I had to cut her hair into a bob, but it’s still dry. I also have the silicone Tasha doll with the rooted hair and it’s falling out.. If you find any suggestion please post it!
You should spray it with a spray bottle and come it with a metal come atm I would only recommend a metal comb I dont have a ashton drake baby atm but I am have a amazon one with rooted hair shes a good quality doll but as yoj said her rooted hair gets matted and what i do is spray it twice or 3X a week and use a metal comb hopefully it helps!
