The problem I C with this added trust is. If wanting to hammer punch it in close range it is good as any other. but if they move away from the trust the way your arm is positioned it will lock up and not allow any real extension, where the other thrusts do?

Thanks for the observation. I'll have experiment with it more to see this and compare it to the other thrusts to feel it.

Do you intend to consider the movements when performed with a spear (vs the Jo). Could it be a factor for this omission?

I personally think we need to try it out I sparring, maybe that will give us some answers. Why do you think it would make a difference vs a ken?

@@AlexanderGent (sorry I wrote boken and not Jo - corrected) .. I was thinking about Tsuki Joden Gaeshi Uchi (5) and how we rotate the Jo to keep the "top" toward the front (otherwise the rotation is superfluous) and it resulted in this thought. Not that I have an answer. Other considerations include how any impact would be transferred to the core as it seems to make the shoulder rotate/rise .. but without sparring, I have only questions and no answers.

All things to think about, I do address some of those points in the next video but still think it needs testing out.
