Always a great job !!! Keep it up.. thank you for doing these videos
Much appreciated!
Really informative video!
Great video
Thanks!
Hey Scott great work as always. I’m certainly happy for your recent success. I bought the AirStep Kat and it connects via Bluetooth. It may do the same or very similar. I haven’t messed with it much though. Keep rockin my friend.
Thanks, Herb. I'm not big on bluetooth, to be honest. This Katana Air EX and bluetooth can be a bit on and off sometimes. At first I though it was my old tablet, but even my phone doesn't like to connect when there are a lot of other bluetooth devices around. I'd like to pull the trigger on an Airstep one day. Thanks for watching.
@@Guitarnivore you are welcome my friend. Someone had a question on the katana the other day on the OU812 channel. I posted your info there. I hope you picked up a sub or two and a few views.
Can I connect this to my katana artist mk2 form an iPhone?
No. This app is only for the Katana Air series.
@@Guitarnivore Thanks. You had a video on Librarian with an Android phone. How then could that with an iPhone?
What do I need for that?
There is some kind of WiDi adapter you need in order to connect to the Librarian. Here is a video from another UA-camr: ua-cam.com/video/qw5zfKfbusI/v-deo.htmlsi=5wrQv9BXpFh7KBzD
Have you tried to connect this app with the MK2 via bluetooth with the Widi Uhost? I know this app can run on the MK2 with the AIRSTEP Kat footswitch with a bluetooth connection but I tried Widi Uhost and although the app is seeing Widi Uhost it returns with a communication error. Can't figure out why.
I don't think this app works with the MK2 because the parameters are different than the MK2. For mobile with the Mk2, most people use Katana Librarian, which is a 3rd party app with either a USB-OTG adapter for android or the WiDi UHost for IOS. I've never heard anyone using the Katana Air app with the Mk2.
Scott if i were to buy a used Boss Katana air would i still be able to use the app for the Boss Katana air? Also are you using Apple(IOS) or Samsung (android)
Yes, the app still works with the old air. If you have iOS, you can use a third party app called Kat Air that I'm told is really awesome.
@@Guitarnivore I'm worried because I have an Android. I've heard the connection is spotty at times
For me, the blue tooth was a huge pain in the ass. I mentioned that in my review and I've heard others say it. Sometimes it would connect no problem and other times it wouldn't even see it.
Hi, thx for great job! How can I use Katana air ex for playing some music come from my phony by bluetooth on Katana air ex and the same time play on the guitar?
You have two options. You can connect Bluetooth to Katana Air Audio and you should be able to play like that or you can import URLs into the place I showed in the video.
@@Guitarnivore Thx for your quick answer :) But this doesn't work, becouse generaly I have problem to use Boss katana air ex like a wireless speaker to play anythink by my phone (android) by bluetooth. Do you have some video about this case? How to play music on Katana and guitar in the same time?
@@formless1000 Unfortunately I didn't realize you can't do it that way. There are some facebook Air EX groups. You may want to join and ask them. They have some very knowledgable people. After I made this video and did the review, I sent this air EX back. The blue tooth was just too buggy for me. Sounded great though.
@@Guitarnivore you worried me with your honest answer and the fact that such an expensive product has a problem with good bluetooth communication. And as I understand from other statements such a problem does not have the Katana Air? Why then has the manufacturer shot itself in the knee?
Hi
To be able to play tracks through the Air EX you need to connect your phone or tablet to a second Bluetooth setting.
To do this need to press and hold the Bluetooth button until it starts flashing then go to your phones Bluetooth setting.
You should now see a katana-air audio Bluetooth setting and connect it to katana-air audio.
The the katana-air MIDI option is for controlling the amp for your phone and the Katana- Air audio is for playing tracks from Spotify or UA-cam through the air Ex. You can then play along with them.
I’m wondering if I can connect my katana air ex to pc? Cannot find boss tone studio for air/air ex
Boss doesn't make a Tone Studio for PC, but there is 3rd party app called FX Floorboard that I heard can connect to it via blue tooth, but I wasn't able to get it to connect. Check out this facebook group. There is a guy there named Alec Bourne. He seems to be a Katana Air guru. facebook.com/groups/wazaairownersclub/
@@Guitarnivore I do appreciate your answer!
For some reason I can't export any patch from the library to my Katana 50? Does anyone know why?
This video is for the Katana Air series. It doesn't work with the MK2 line.
@@Guitarnivore So if I'm using Xsonic Airstep with my Katana 50 it's still not going to work?
This app is only made for the Katana Air. If you want an app for the 50, 100, mk2, mk1, etc. You need the Katana Librarian app, a third party app which isn't free. ua-cam.com/video/CKNd3PDi2Lg/v-deo.htmlsi=YFQDjEvLvcbOTxlm
@@Guitarnivore Alright. Thanks for clarifying.
great content. BTS Sessions next?
I won't be doing any BTS content for the Air EX. Blue tooth was too unpredictable. I may do something for the ME-90 though.
@@Guitarnivoreyou sending this back then ? Loan over ?
@@AlecBourneMidiMadScientist Yes, sir. I sent it back to zZounds last week. It was fun, but that blue tooth had me about to pull my hair out.
