It kinda makes sense that your team hears your ult in English, but the enemies don't. You probably all have universal translators for flawless communication with each other.
@@brussailpook8213 Most of them aren't native speakers, thus can't voice act accurately what they are supposed to speak in translated versions. For example Torbjörn's VA Keith doesn't know even a word in Swedish. Imagine him trying to be authentic Swedish man, if game was translated into Swedish - just doesn't work. And by judging difference between character's native and English version of the game, pronouncing is different clearly with these character's who's voice actor isn't native speaker of their character's language.
@@haganeEdwardElric I believe the voice actor for lucio in english learned some words so he could do some of lucios lines in his native language. Not impossible and not the greatest option, but it IS an option.
And all the overwatch watch fan made animations have tracer recalling constantly until she has a good quip, that amount of ultimate voice lines displays that stereotype perfectly
Maybe not too many Russian “enthusiasts” here but I really appreciate that Russian Zarya actually says her words instead of slurring them together into one amalgamation.

I like the german voices from Reinhardt and Mercy more, because Reinhardt speaks with an actual dialect from his region and Mercy speaks swiss german instead of just regular german like in the english version.
Mercy does not speak Swissgerman or with Swiss accent in the german or english version. She's from Zurich, but does neither have a Zurich accent nor does she speak the Zurich Swissgerman dialect. Quite disappointing if you ask me. Source: I'm Swiss, from the Zurich region

Siper If you watch any Japanese acting (that ISN’T for anime or Japanese games) you’ll notice how most of their dubbing is SO bad. It’s like they’re trying to dub an anime when it isn’t an anime, so it ends up so unnatural and over dramatic. It’s the reason why so many people don’t fuck with Japanese movies or series (doramas)
It's the voice actors. It feels unnatural. Most of the voice actors talk in their native language so I thought it's kind of dumb (original voice actors)
Lord Flopp of course if your native language is English, it would sound better to hear Japanese with an English accent. Since Paul Nakauchi does not speak Japanese, it sounds way more Americanised than it should be
If anyone was wondering, Rein says "Immer feste druff" (Immer feste drauf) Which basically means to "Always hit hard. Also, Mercy's allied line means "Mir stirbt keiner weg!" Which is something similar to "Nobody dies on my watch/while I'm here"
It'd be cool if there was a setting so that you could turn on all the heroes native languages for just those heroes, so any genji in your lobby is japanese while at the same time all widow lines are in french. Be dope imo

While both genji's and hanzo's american VA's are japanese I believe that Genji's got a strong american accent (while Hanzo's cant actually speak japanese). I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that according to japanese people who heard the american voice lines it sounded really butchered and the words were all jumbled/not understandable

Siper If you watch any Japanese acting (that ISN’T for anime or Japanese games) you’ll notice how most of their dubbing is SO bad. It’s like they’re trying to dub an anime when it isn’t an anime, so it ends up so unnatural and over dramatic. It’s the reason why so many people don’t fuck with Japanese movies or series (doramas)

It'd be cool if there was a setting so that you could turn on all the heroes native languages for just those heroes, so any genji in your lobby is japanese while at the same time all widow lines are in french. Be dope imo

While both genji's and hanzo's american VA's are japanese I believe that Genji's got a strong american accent (while Hanzo's cant actually speak japanese). I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that according to japanese people who heard the american voice lines it sounded really butchered and the words were all jumbled/not understandable
