It's weird that I love watching other people open and use art that I want I feel like in some way I got to enjoy the art supplies by watching you use it
That brush pen is the exact kind we were told to get when I started studying comics in art school! I love it a lot, it's probably the only thing I got back then that I still use.
this is incredibly useful timing because i just had a birthday and was considering buying this palette for myself, so it was nice to have some feedback other than amazon reviews about it.
Hey Alice! Not sure if you will even get this comment since it’s so late but thought you’d like to know that Gansai paints are actually the name of the medium! Like Watercolor or Gouache. You might find it interesting because you can use them the way they are traditionally used which is straight out of their pans without dilution (hence the semi-opaqueness and there is also a slight sheen due to the type of binder which is a natural water based glue). They are often used for Etegami style of painting which is pretty much “spontaneous and quick paintings to capture an object.” It works really well with the brush pen you purchased because it tends to be used with bold ink brush strokes. I’d love to see what you think of the paints when you use them less watered down. The company only added “watercolors” to the name in the past 5 years or so to boost sales since it got popular as watercolors in the crafting community. Lovely painting and great video as always!
The Pentel pocket brush *does* have a learning curve. I found it helpful to work on a larger scale at first. The brush itself its quite long, which makes it a little more difficult to handle than, say, a Micron brush pen.
Yes definitely! I found that it was easy to accidentally create little "knicks" in the paper when turning it, and like I said I'm not the best with brush pens to start, but I'm excited to keep playing with it!
Thank you sooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!! I have not drawn or done any artwork in a very long time and your videos have really inspired me. Keep up the great work. *pushing the 'subscribe' button*
I have the same problem! xD I came to realise lately that I do have a hoarding problem when it comes to art supplies, mainly paints aswell xD I've also got some gansai tambi watercolors set but still need to try it out, so this review sure helps alot, thank you Alice! your videos are always on point ^^
Hoarding problem??? What hoarding problem? *has 67+ brand new untouched sketchbooks, 4 kinds of paints in both watercolor and acrylic, 20+ canvas panels, and so so so many pens* Tl;dr: DO NOT WORK AT AN ART STORE WITH A GREAT DISCOUNT rip
You’re one of my biggest inspirations Alice! I love your art so much and I love how you give so much information when you’re testing out new supplies! I also love how you give your honest opinions about something, which is very helpful! Thank you for being such an amazing inspiration for many of your viewers including me.. I look forward to more inspiring, awesome art! Love you so much and thank you! 😊😊🤗🤗💖💖
Thankyou so much!!! I try really hard to make my videos informative and helpful for you guys, so I'm glad you're enjoying it! I was really excited about the paints because they're even cheaper than I thought, $25!!!! like whattt
Wow I wish I could draw like that ! !! I had to draw a Vincent van Gogh painting and it looked hiddeous !!!! I'm glad I watch someone like you I couldn't even draw a face and know it getting better because I'm watching your videos 😃 Thank you, I'm only 11 by the way😃😃
I adore the stain-glass piece. The girl looks amazing. I love the freckles. I have a hard time doing them, maybe i just don't want big splotches. In the future, you can try a mixed media paper. Its usually smooth instead of textured, but works well with watercolors. It looks perfectly fine on the watercolor paper though. it turned out great. Good work!
I am also addicted to unboxing video, which is why I do them as well! I love that you do them too. I'm not great at brush pens but I absolutely had to buy some.
Oh my god, her face looks BEAUTIFUL! I used to watch your videos back in 2015 and now I found you again, haha, you've improved so much, love this piece ♡
The drawing was amazing and you inspire me and i hope to get to a similar level of watercolour and drawing level as you. Love hullopup in the backround💜💙💜💙💜💙💜
The tip to get the paints opaque is to put water on the paints and let it sit for a while then use them. They go super opaque especially the metallics.
You NEED to try mission gold watercolors, they are pigmented and bright af but also you can water them down to get nice muted colors and build layers just as you like!!
I just order the Kissho Water colours 72 pans of juicy colour fun just waiting to be played with. Thank you for doing this review! I can't wait my self!
The Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors are Japanese and made with gum arabic which is why they're different from Western-brand watercolors like Winsor&Newton!! I hope you look into it because it's quite interesting. I loved your piece btw! :)
I used that brush pen under my watercolor and it bled like crazy...not sure how yours didn't! Maybe the paper, I used it on mixed media paper. I'll have to give it another go on watercolor paper now! Great video! I do wish you would slow down and show the swatching more for your paint reviews there, I have been eyeing those paints but just still on the fence.
Hullo alice!!!! You inspired me to paint with water colors again.ive been concentrating on colored pencils.the tambi set i have and love.and boxes of art supplies.hullo my name is Olivia.hi olivia. I am an art hoarder.lol.😊
Lovely art, as usual. Those metallic brush pens look fun, and I'm not generally a pen/marker person. :) About other products, I'm hoping you'd agree to review Prang watercolors (not the washable ones with the squarish oval pans; the ones with the roundish oval pans--a 16-pan set costs something like $7.50 on Amazon). I think they're decent for beginners and very cheap, so when you feel like playing with some cheap watercolors, maybe you could do a review of them. :)
I know this video is old, but in case you didn’t see it, the color names are on the lid with a little area to swatch each color. I really liked the artwork in this video. I have the Gansai set too and never ever use it. I also suffer from art supply hoarding and full-set-syndrome ☺️
Hi Alice I'm such a big fan! I love your eyes it's super cool and I love your drawing! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Huge huge! huge! Mega fun! See you Friday bye!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍
Reviews are great. You said give something for you to try and review. I'd like you to try the kruetake markers. You can get them for cheap at Marker supply. I use them myself I haven't noticed any fading from the light, but I do have my pictures framed and behind plexiglass. So I'm cheap and get the Wal-Mart $10 frames but they work. Oh and yet as an artist I am a hoarder.
This art is so gorgeous! It makes me want to draw patterns now, haha.

I saw Stitch in the background and that made my day!
Love that you gave her freckles
It’s true. I too have a palette addiction 😍...seriously, who really needs 5 of them? I do!
Stunning piece! I especially love how you gave her freckles... I would have never thought to use a splatter technique for that!
That brush pen is the exact kind we were told to get when I started studying comics in art school! I love it a lot, it's probably the only thing I got back then that I still use.
This is still one of my favourite of your pieces. I think I’ve watched this video about 3 times now.
I love your channel. I am pushed toward academia but I love art, it's a way to escape the pressure
I absolutely love this painting oh my lorddd
this is incredibly useful timing because i just had a birthday and was considering buying this palette for myself, so it was nice to have some feedback other than amazon reviews about it.

Gorgeous! I loved watching the line work unfold; it was really satisfying 🤣❤️
The pocket brush pen looks awesome. I think I'll have to add it to my wishlist for this year! Thank you for an awesome video!
I got those paints for Christmas last year. I absolutely love them! They are my favorites in my collection. There are so many I want to try however

Thanks for making this! I got them for christmas and I adore them!
Love how you mention that you don't need heaps of art supplies to be an artist!
I love little Rapunzel and Merida in the background 😂❤
I saw that in another video, LOL
AMAZING! Also December was walking around in the intro ^^
+Kate Amelia she wanted me to stop talking to the camera and pay attention to her! 😂
Yay! I got the same watercolor set last year 😄 I love the pearlescents and metallics that come with it.

I have a problem with hoarding art supplies. I have 5 sketch books that I never use and I don't know where 3 of them came from.
I am also addicted to unboxing video, which is why I do them as well! I love that you do them too. I'm not great at brush pens but I absolutely had to buy some.
Hi Alice you've inspired me so much to start art I've just finished a sheep piece and it turned out brilliantly ! Thankyou so much 💙💜❤️💚💖😘😍
