I'm so excited to try this out...I feel like so much of what kept me practicing piano through the years was simply the pure satisfaction of playing notes on a good-sounding piano
You should get a business card from those movers. They handled it efficiently and correctly! At some point you will need them again- good piano movers are difficult to find!
It depends on the piano. I got a brand new Model A in 2017 (built in 2015) and took advantage of the Steinway Trade-In upgrade program to get a Model B (fresh out of the factory in September 2020). I love my piano.
Why would you cover the piano like that? You need to leave it open so air can circulate or you’re going to end up with a lot of issues. Pianos need to breathe-like people. Only time you should cover it like that is if you leave for a month
Lindenblad restored my 1918 Steinway Model O, they did a great job and sent a suprise gift with it too.

A good piano with good playing is always super rewarding! Hope you can try it out someday too.
I 've done that with the blanket on an upright piano.. But a wonderful grand Steinway deserves better :), voice it man!

Welcome to the B family! I named mine Ysabella.

I am curious, what was the price for this used Steinway B?
I don't really want to say publicly, but you can look at restoring companies and other used piano sellers for an approximate range!
