There was this man who came to the RGV from Spain and whose name was Pablo Hermoso De Mendoza. He did shows with horses and fought bulls with his lance (in Reynosa Mexico). There is a market in the USA that has not been tapped and I feel that Arne Koets can open this market (in the USA) with his skills in Knight Combat. Typed February 3, 2021
You guys are great fun to watch. If one think that a Ritter, a Knight, a Chevalier from the early Middle Ages onward was always on horseback and was mostly fighting from. Fighting was done on foot in the Viking Age in Scandinavia. One dismounted from the horse at the chosen place of battle. But the knight is a horseman. So it was very interesting to see how to fight on horseback with sword or lance etc. Thank you very much! Sven from Sweden German: Es macht Spaß, euch zuzusehen. Herzlichen Dank! Sven aus Schweden Übersetzt mit www.DeepL.com/Translator (kostenlose Version)
In war, everyone is trying to survive right. So you will try to kill your enemy or weaken him in any way possible. Easiest and biggest target of a night is his horse. So why is nobody aiming at the horses? Its just not really realistic. Watch Braveheart.
Killing a horse in a single blow with a one handed sword is nigh on impossible; and, depending on the angle of the engaging enemy leaves yourself open to getting stabbed. Depending on the period the horse will be armoured on the chest, face and neck aswell to protect it's most vulnarble places from major wounds that might not kill it instantly but makes it impossible to survive the night. Braveheart is not a good reference for anything historical, sorry! Also; don't hit animals, they don't deserve that!
A beautiful display of old German horse fencing. Greetings from Poland.

What kind of helmet is seen in 3:48? How do you see with this mask?
It looks like a mesh front. Don't know what type it is, not An expert on medieval helmets.. had a slight bacsinet shape to it..
Thank you for answering. Zo me it looks like a full metal mask. 3:50 is a better shot.
Petra Gollan
