What a beautiful ode to Toowoomba and its stunning Carnival of Flowers! What a wonderful tribute to its citizens and their hard work in making this event so special.

A wonderful era in Australia, when the reservoirs were full, the populace were positive, the future looked as bright and beautiful as the flowers, and families could imagine owning a house and car one day soon.
But none of the race horses wanted to be involved in the presentation before the race, nor the prize giving ceremony afterwards. They just wanted a cold wash down and some breakfast 😮

Oh, Toowoomba's more modern, and a bit bigger since 1953. Though, it still has some of the old buildings like the old city hall in Ruthven St and the old courthouse on the corner of Neil St and Margaret St. It's a nice city.

Toowoomba's more modern, and a bit bigger since 1953, which was 70 years ago. But I can guarantee the parks and gardens full of flowers are still there.

Its still nice but getting out-priced by investors house grabbing. there is a huge drug problem, homeless people and I sadly left as it wasn't affordable for me more. It was my hometown for twenty years and it used to a cheap place to live but no more. Visit by all means but remember the crime rate is almost on par with Townsville.

I agree before covid wasn't great. I'm originally from Toowoomba. I used to be fairly low crime and cheap before covid.

It's still a pretty city, though. Very green. It has more in lncomon with Nsw country cities tbh, than most of Queensland and the climate is colder than a lot of Queensland. But it's climate seems more subtropical these days than temperate. Still gets a winter, though. Just not like it used. Also used to rain a fair Abit. Alot less rain nowadays

You can still attend Toowoomba's Carnival of Flowers in September next year.
