Hey Pravus! I'm the developer behind this project and what an absolute pleasure this video was to watch. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this.
It'd be funny to see the classic MTX shop with outrageous prices (no need to make it interactable, just have it be there, it's like the server connection at the main menu, necessary for the feel). Don't forget to make the common hub towns a lagfest of way-too-many-effects level 90s! Or is that too 2000s?
@@migueeeelet honestly if it was interactable that would be fun too, could trade in game gold to a vendor for "fake premium currency" to unlock extra bonuses etc.
Don't forget to make the other 'players' in the party bunny hop all over the place and dance emote while you're stood still looking at the quest Journal.
Oh maaaaan, this absolutely speaks to my Runescape teenage years...Can't wait to watch Erenshor evolve and become something, because I will waste hours here.
The way people speak in MMOs is something that evolves within each MMO. Realm of the Mad God evolved abbreviations for nearly everything in the game because keeping a chat box open for more than a full second is incredibly dangerous. Everybody knows what you mean when you just say 'h', and nobody thinks it's rude. In other games, certain speech patterns come out of getting around a game's chat filtering, particularly for MMOs trying to be child-friendly. Everquest has its own style, too.
I think customizability is going to be key. Have the "intended experience" as the default, but allow you to customize it. Customize NPC independence, behaviors, etc. Would also love it if the NPCs did more of their own thing while you were in town (Selling their own loot, buying items/skills) and then you all can tell them to regroup to continue questing. But that will probably require sharing loot and such.
When I play MMOs I do the solo thing. Not because I'm afraid to group up but first because I don't have a lot of time for them I just want to hop in and out and arranging a group takes time I don't have. Second I just like seeing how much can I do by myself. Can I solo raids and events? And things like that, I like testing my character and skills to see just how far I can go.
The best thing about this game is that you don't have to run around asking if anyone has seen your corpse... and no one is around to drag it to a exceptionally dangerous area.
I like how the they're doing a free early access. This way more people get to discover the game without having to commit to it. This way if they like it they might be more willing to buy it and be willing to contribute to it by leaving reviews, ideas and petting the creators know about bugs.
I remember when I tried to play Everquest. My session either crashed on take-off, or I couldn't figure out how to play the game, or a third thing that I don't remember from some twenty years ago. Either way, I ended up letting that trial period expire.
Soooooo Pravus; Do you want to play "9-bit Armies: A bit too far" ?? It's on sale on steam until Oct 23 & it was made by Former WestWood-Studio Devs (& now under a new studio called "PetroGlyph") Also the Music is made by Frank Klepacki himself
Absolutely love the concept behind this game. But right now it looks incredibly rough. Here's hoping the end result is good, but for now I have no hype for it.
This can only be a TRUE representation of an MMO if during a raid with a PUG everything goes to shit and at the end, 8 hours later, everyone fights over the good loot lol.
I have been playing Everquest a lot of late, trying to get a toon to 50, (check out Kraznog's journeys if you'd like, shameless channel plug) I could try this next but I think that the community in EQ is what sells me to that game instead of modern mmos. They are so fun and welcoming to newbs.
Random question: Is Pravus willing to take a look at a free steam game to see if it's worth putting on the channel? It's called "None Shall Intrude: Descent" where you play as a raid dragon boss. Seems like there's different builds so I thought it may fit on his channel?
sorry for use this video comment area for this but i wanna know do you plan on do a video on hearts of iron 4 gotterdammerung ? and just for fun can you try do be Super evil genmany ? plz
The game seems interesting but man do the visuals really let it down. The scale of the assets is way off and everything just looks plopped down at random

I wish you would of used a more modern art design, I think it’s a cool idea but I just can’t do the low poly art ruins immersion for me
Oh maaaaan, this absolutely speaks to my Runescape teenage years...Can't wait to watch Erenshor evolve and become something, because I will waste hours here.
The art style is what's sending me back. This baby can only fit 5 polygons in it.
Don't forget Brighter Shores is dropping in November it's being made by an OG RuneScape dev.
"We're just doing what you would do in an MMO like this - pretending we have friends." ☠

Such a cool idea.
Love that they had npcs spamming items for sale and to buy in chat.

This brings back some nostalgia. Yeesh. Never thought I'd get a hankering for EQ and EQ2 again.
They should have different ai, like one that lags, one that is a coward, one that is a leroy, maybe a loot goblin one

An mmo without griefers is already better than FF11.

Man I love how it has all of the old jank.

EverCraft Online Alpha test
Oct 18th 2024 1:00 P.M. !!!
About 2 hours away!!!
Be there or be square!
Looks good actually ;) Thx for the video.
This makes me miss my half-elf Paladin from EQ (Tribunal server)
I remember when I tried to play Everquest. My session either crashed on take-off, or I couldn't figure out how to play the game, or a third thing that I don't remember from some twenty years ago. Either way, I ended up letting that trial period expire.
If it can feel like the pawn system in Dragons Dogma I'd die. Let people make "best freinds", and provide them with different inclinations!
I loved EQ I'll definitely give this game a try
It reminds me so much of everquest!
RuneScape is perfect. This looks sweet tho I'll give it a shot.
EverQuest was so much fun
Soooooo Pravus;

Did this 2000, with the .hack sign games.
Glorious
Absolutely love the concept behind this game.

it is like is someone turned runescape into EQ

" The premiss of this game is so unusual" dot Hack series of games begs to differ.

I love the idea of MMO's but hate human interaction so this sounds great.
This doesnt make me nostalgic, it makes me sad
Being sad is nostalgic, now that I'm 43, with a lovely family, money, reputation and a career, I want to truly remember what being sad felt like.
sorry for use this video comment area for this but i wanna know do you plan on do a video on hearts of iron 4 gotterdammerung ? and just for fun can you try do be Super evil genmany ? plz
Lol, were just pretending we have friends😂
where seaspice 😭😭
Day 7 of asking Pravus to play HOI4 Blackice.
I never had nostagia for Runescape like games. waaaaay too much grinding. plus social aspects never worked out for me
here me out. this game but with AI actors.
Needs fake gold-sellers, then it would be a true MMO sim...
The game seems interesting but man do the visuals really let it down. The scale of the assets is way off and everything just looks plopped down at random
A single player MMO LOL..
I don't know about you guys, but the idea of playing a simulated MMO seems creepy to me.
