10 MONTH UPDATE: The top piece of the rod snapped in half when the line was pulled while fishing. I have always taken good care of this rod and its always been stored in the case. I called Falcon and they will replace the rod once its off backorder (which they estimated at over a month), but I do have to pay shipping both ways (coming out to $28). Something to consider if you buy this...
You can find tackle bags with strap rod holders to affix your tube on the sides. This would help overcome the short strap. Thanks for reviewing and might grab the casting model.
Great review. I am looking for a rod I can hike around with and I agree that the rod case is too big for that. It looks more built for air travel or riding on a bus.
Nice showcase, Looks really good I like those guides on it. Bummer on the case it does look big and kind of heavy almost looks like you could fit a small reel in it also. When I am on my E-bike for fishing adventures I just bring a 6ft 2 piece rod I looked at 3 piece ones but could not find nothing small and like med power. I am thinking of a future video e-bike pan fishing adventure trying to catch some pan fish in multiple ponds but I only have a 2 piece med light I may have to get a UL or light action one or just wing it with the med light PH style!😜
Those connections are referred to as spigot ferrules and are supposed to have a gap. I have them on my Fenwick Methods travel rods and they are a higher end feature.
Some knuckleheads sand them until they touch, .......... just ruined the rod, I have spigot ferrule rods over 30 yrs. old and still catching saltwater species just fine.
When I got the replacement, the lower and middle pieces didn't fit together tightly, so I had to wrap the male end of the lower piece with tape to get them to fit snug. Other than that, it's fine. The most I have ever casted with this is 0.5 oz (14.17 grams). I wouldn't go any heavier than that, and I'd try to stick to around 0.25 oz (7 gram).

For sure, wouldn't be bad for mass transit at all. Thanks for watching man!

@@estuaryboy I read reviews confirming your statement lol.
Did you have other problems after the snapped piece? How many grams it casts, 14 or more?

Time will tell . Compact is nice but a nice one piece rod is king
For sure. I only got this 3 piece for backpacking trips. Thanks for the comment, Dan!
I need one of those.
Great for backpacking.
