I had the privilege of seeing Darren King play live during his MuteMath years, and WOW. There was nothing like that experience still a decade later. I miss them so much! ❤
This is so cool to see... I remember the first time I tried to record an album with my band, the producer asked us to bring in reference tracks. I showed him "Prytania" off of Odd Soul and said can u make my drums sound like this plz haha. That album never came out but I've still been striving to achieve that sound on my own but never quite got there so I'll definitely be checking this out! Been following ya since the Berklee Auditions days JP, thanks for this cool collab and all the awesome content over the years!
From the moment I saw him walk out on stage and wrap duct tape around his headphones to his head when they were opening for David Crowder Band… I was in 😁
I also first saw MM on that tour! (Twenty years ago!?) Was hooked immediately! Although, I was kinda taken aback when he tore the kit completely apart at the end of their set...but I came to understand it was part of the vibe. Darren King has been my biggest drumming influence ever since.

I love this man, the way he plays the drums, for me, is the best I have ever heard. Inspiration for me.

This is the only dude I have ever listened to who became the instrument he played in a full range of emotions. A true artist!
One of the biggest influences in my playing from very early on
I'm not even a drummer. I just LOVE Darren King and what he did with MuteMath. I want to get this just so I can watch and listen.

Always been an admired drummer, by every musician I know. I’m always impressed when even guitarist are inspired by a drummers playing.
