Something I didn't notice until the doppelgänger race for City Escape, the truck chase starts at about the level's halfway point. Which means more than half of the level is that chase. Just wow. Thus far, I haven't finished the game, but my two favorite Classic Sonic levels are Speed Highway and Seaside Hill. Modern Sonic will need to be determined because, as said, haven't finished it yet. I will admit, I do think Rooftop Run would be even more complete if the "Ready? Go!" quote that was in a demo build of the game had remained.
Yes, you are right! I should have been more explicit about this. Being able to skip this is nice, but it doesn’t stop the mechanic itself from not being enjoyable. All mechanics should be well designed and enjoyable, being able to skip them is a band aid approach. I hope that makes sense. Sonic’s core design is for upper paths to be speedy and rewarding but difficult to maintain whilst lower paths are slower and more difficult. Even with this in mind though, these platforms just aren’t fun and slow down the pace way more than even a lower path should. They are also extremely awkward to control. My apologies for not making it clear and I appreciate you pointing this out! Thank you for watching!
Seaside Hill beats Speed Highway IMO, the 3D design is just SOOOO peak! And the goat carts/turtles are referenced to BOTH Acts of the zone in Heroes (Seaside Hill for the carts and Ocean Palace for the platforming), so that is definitely not something I'd knock it on at all. Modern Crisis City beats Green Hill IMO, worse 2D parts but the 3D parts are a ton better and more plentiful. I'd sneak it to like tenth.
That’s definitely fair enough! Seaside Hill is very, very good. I’m aware about the turtles and the kart being a reference, I was definitely being harsh here but something being a reference doesn’t automatically make it enjoyable, but I can appreciate the attention to detail. Also fair enough with the Crisis City view. I just personally enjoy Green Hill from start to finish whereas Crisis City I become tempted to just move on to a different level after the 2D begins. Thank you for sharing your opinions! And thank you for watching!!!
How so? It runs smoother, has higher resolutions and I used the remaster to illustrate a point regarding Classic Green Hill Zone. ‘Cringe’ is a bit of an odd word to use here but I appreciate the feedback.

Next, could you rank the Shadow stages?
Absolutely!
you can skip the spinning platform arrow things if you stay on the top half in sky sanctuary act 1

Using the remaster for the footage is kinda cringe but good video otherwise
