  • In this episode of FarFromHome, we pick up some salvage, test out the new grinder pit, and experiment with turning down the Reaver spawn rate.
    ===
This is my play-through of Wellington6012s "Far From Home" scenario.
In this scenario, you have been kidnapped from your home planet, but manage to elude your captors and find refuge on a friendly trading station. The goal of the scenario is to travel the 25,000km back home without attacking or damaging a neutral. The fun is to build a ship along the way by salvaging the games random encounters, and hostiles... including Reavers.
    "Masher Requirements:
    No MORE than:
    3 blocks wide
    5 blocks tall
    12 blocks long
    6 explosives.
    80 Thruster components
    40 radio components
    200 metal grids
    1 small hydrogen tank
    1 small oxygen tank Small-grid
Other blocks/components are "fair game" as long as the design doesn't use much Ur, Pt, Ag, Ni
    Must have:
    1 remote
    1 antenna
    1 direction of thrust
    1 camera
    1 timer block.
    1 gyro
    Be controllable from the Donut.
Objective is to accelerate at the enemy.
Survive enemy fire long enough to ram.
If you provide an acceptable blueprint, I'll use it on the show the next time a Reaver chases me. First come first serve.

Superb progress - well, 2 steps forwards, 1 jump sideways!
I'd be tempted to add grinders to the doors haha, like a pincher. Venus Fly Donut.
Looking forwards to the next one chap!

Oh man. Grinders on the doors. I was thinking about using the doors to help hold in debris. lol.
Yeah that would be cool. Now you've got me thinking of a starwars trash compactor style of grinder pit.
Put the ship in the middle, grind from both sides.

Nice to see some negative progress once in a while lol... That being said, two steps forward are in your future! Those subgrids in your grinder pit make my brain really really hot, so I had to have a cold glass of Klang Kola to cool down while watching that lol.

      Nice to see. lol.
I was a little panicky, and not used to the jump drive. I actually thought maybe I could change the direction after initiation... but no.
Sorry to make your brain so hot. I did end up accidentally grinding off the mag plate.
But yeah, they were actually really helpful. Needed a little more motion to get around the collision boxes, and get stuff grinding!

@@toroidaldevil9303 It's so sick to see the beast feeding like a lopsided space lobster lol! I love it, reminds me of when I made a mech whale with grinder teeth, the idea was pray on smaller crafts and spit out missiles. You're doing it! You're doing the things! So good to watch man! Keep up that multitask at hand!

"Feeding like a lopsided space lobster". oh man.
A mech whale that eats smaller craft and spits out missiles.... well the Dount does look a lot like a whale... and it does spit out missiles...
I guess it needs some fins...lol

I did the other way around, set spawn timer down way way down.
And the nest day one of my shield mods broke in update.
I was facing 6-7 reavers and orks faceplanting my base at the same time.
What a messy clean up, but fun 😂

Yeah I was thinking about doing it that way as well. Wasn't hard to do, although I found the directions for MES pretty confusing due to it's evolution over time.
I'm going to try out shields one day, there are so many ways to play this game. That's one of the things I really love about it.
