Awesome stuff. I'm not nuts about the switches on most of the breadboard power supplies, the two that I have both died within a few weeks. I've been using ones that don't have a switch and I either plug/unplug the wall wart from my power bar or use a 9v battery with a switch.

I may need to look into a new one. I don't really need a switch, tbh, plus this design takes up a lot of board space.

Why don't you use CD4026BE or CD4033BE? Just need one IC for each digit.

Well, there are (at least) two reasons:
1- I didn't know they existed until just now.
      2- I don't have any.
That said, they look super neat and would have made things a lot simpler.

@@bigzaphod that means you can make it the topic of your next video.

Did you notice that the left display has the bottom led on when it says 9 but the right display does not. Is there a reason for this? like the decoder driver may be different? I didn't notice any of the other digits being different.

I did eventually realize this. (Actually, my wife first noticed it!) It turns out that the box of ICs had *two different* driver chips that differed by a single digit in the part number and I didn't realize it or notice it at the time. In hindsight it makes sense because everything else in that box only has 2 of each part number and I never stopped to think why I had 4 driver chips! So I actually have two each of two slightly different driver ICs where the main difference seems to be that some digits have a different shape.

@@bigzaphod maybe a good topic for another video, Explaining the different chips that look to be the same but are not quite. Thanks for you channel.

When doing displays with 7 segment units some people like to have the tails on the nines and sixes and some don't, but your display would look better if all of the digits are the same, so what don't you want? ua-cam.com/video/p-FX_7SFSsM/v-deo.html&pp=ygUTd2hhdCBkb24ndCB5b3Ugd2FudA%3D%3D

I breadboarded a full feature demonstrator with the 74LS192. I took some still pictures of it back in the days of film but haven't digitized them yet. When you count down, everyone assumes you're making a bomb. 🙄
