Thank you for taking me back to my Childhood. Nothing in this era compares to the cartoons and shows of the 80's and early 90's. Our generations creatives must be losing "it".
No, that's just your nostalgia talking. If you can't find anything of value in a series like Arcane or The Dark Crystal, then you've simply stopped living.
I loved earlier GA shows like Thunderbirds, UFO and Space:1999. I've never heard of Terrahawks till now, but this was quite campy and fun! The music sounds like a mashup of Superman I, BSG 78/80 and Star Wars! 😊👍
Lauda won his third F1 championship the year this was made; 1984. He’d be in the news, no doubt in his trademark red cap. This was bound to have insured this puppet, surely?
Simple fact is this. The people who made these blurays had very limited sources of film prints to work from. They had to make do with films that had certain defects, like how Close Call has discolouration on the left hand side of the picture, or how this episode in particular had tramlines and motion blur on some frames due to picture bleed across the frames. The VHS has better sound by virtue of being sourced directly from the film print when it was relatively new, which is how most of the early episodes of Terrahawks have improved sound. Later episodes such as Two for the Price of One try to circumvent this by playing the dubbing track that would have been used by foreign broadcasters to dub the show into other languages, in tandem with the surviving English audio to create a fuller sound. Terrahawks's original negatives unfortunately are lost, presumed junked so we probably won't be getting any better quality prints soon, although a full 16mm print reel of the full two part opening episode Expect the Unexpected was recently archived and scanned ready for restoration and release in the near future and that has somewhat improved sound compared to the current broadcast master.
@@samoli11 Are you saying that the original master tapes have been scrapped and were not archived? On a separate note, I loved the tick tac toe game at the end credits, haven't watched this since I was kid in the 80's
@@jean-lucpicard5510 Note that I said the 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘮 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 were junked, not the 𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴. Matter of fact, there wouldn't even be blu-rays if no film copies existed period. There's a plot point in this episode that I don't understand - How did Yungstar and the Cubes get from Mars, past Space Hawk, down to Earth without being detected?
really annoyed me to no end that the jerk 9enstin couldnt come to grasp that the zeroids were capable of indipendant thought , co orrdination and emotion and initiative . the fact that zero(sgt major) was able to program the overlander was proof of this .the zeroids saved them.10-10 Transmission Completed, Standing By. too bad tribune didnt pick up the series .
@@samoli11 - I think that was meant as a compliment, as in, the puppet and miniature work is as good as Henson's, although considering Anderson had been doing this way before Henson, perhaps that should be the other way round.
Out of all Gerry Anderson's programmes, like of Sting Ray, Thunder Birds, fireball, and all the rest, The 2 main ones that stood out better was Star Fleet, And Terrahawks as both was made better without seeing the silly like invisible strings,

I haven't seen Terrahawks for 35 years. Brilliant stuff. I now recognise that Windsor Davies was the voice of Sergeant Zero!
Star fleet and terra hawks all day long - loved both of those shows.
In case you hadn't noticed, Denise Bryer supplies the voices for both Zelda and Commander Macara from StarFleet. She was a busy lady back then.

This was my first Terrahawks episode. I love it and I ordered the blu-ray during my viewing.
this sounds awesome! great job..it shows how much you care for this show
Love an episode with the Overlander!!
Happy 40th Anniversary Terrahawks
🍻🍻🍻🇬🇧
This is really great remastering...and it's one of my favourite episodes too.
Good job.
God rest Windsor Davies’ soul.
sunday afternoons were brilliant, all because of this show
I remember some kid on my school playground had a little zeroid toy. I was so jealous ☹️
This is not only the Overlander's third appearance but also the third Overlander to appear. As the previous two were both hijacked and destroyed.
Love Windsor Davies. My Favourite character next to Kate Kestrel.
Once a Sargant Major, always a Sargant Major.
Thanks I was trying to remember his name, he was great in Never the Twain.
@@stevenvaughan2869 watch it ain’t half hot mum. His character, the battery sergeant major was brilliant

Space:1999.......that ominous sound effect in the intro. It looked so far off back then.
Those Derek Meddings models are really cool!
I'm a huge fan of Terrahawks, nice job
As someone who does their own remastering, I must say this was brilliant.
Great stuff thank you....that over lander, what a beast!👍🏴
My fav character was Yung-star, Zeldas son The glutinous voice!!!
Loved the show. I liked this even more than Thunderbirds and I loved that show as well. This was very well done.
I remember as a kid having a zeroid football, the Sgt I think.
Quite valuable now. I saw on ebay for £150.
Great acting and FX!
No joke, still better than Anakin Skywalker for example xD
I was born when broadcasting,I don,t know Terrahawks. But I like.
Thanks man; made this ol' night owl''s evening! Great sound
Amazing Zeroid performance
and it does sound great too
Well done old chap.
Harry looks like Niki Lauda
Buck Deniston I always thought Roy Schneider as a kid from jaws

The cubes cheated again in the noughts and crosses.
How....does a VHS have better sound quality than a Blueray?
I can say that on a surround sound dolby digital, this sounds fantastic.

Same method the cubes got to earth in Gunfight at Okay's Corral I guess :P
I like the little crescent moon; but I wish the lovely Yung-Star would give us a full "moon"! 😉
By the way, was Harry killed, or only stunned?
Where's my zeroid? Such a cool concept.

You know Jim Henson is within spittin' distance from you guys, right?
Actually the show was filmed nowhere near the muppet sets. Terrahawks was filmed at Bray studios in Berkshire

Why is the audio so shit on the blu rays? Im pretty sure this episode only exists now on 1-inch videotape as there is no film copy availible.
This episode available on DVD you know.
Is no one jamming out to that song by kate?
CAN WE ISOLATE THE AUDIO AT 9:33 AND PUT IT TOO A HIPHOP BEAT?

Remastered perhaps. But the background sound is too noisy.
