I went to a Korn Ferry tour qualifier here in Florida last week and the winner said LIV was his goal because the PGA is not a destination he wants. He shot 63 to get to play in an event in Argentina!

Can't wait for Las Vegas next week. Tried to watch the Pebble Beach PGA event but turned it off after 5 minutes. What were the TV ratings? Please publish them here. I couldn’t watch as the CW Network shows Worlds Most Dangerous Animals on my feed. I don’t stream sorry.
If I’m the Saudis.. I’d just go all in on LIV and forget about the PGA. Eventually the PGA will go bankrupt and the Saudis will win either way. No sense in letting the tour try to find ways to screw over their own players and the Saudis
Agree that's what they should do and make a strong tour under the liv tour ! 20 International series event for 5 million and make sure like 5 guys getting a card
If I'm the Saudi's I buy the DP Tour and compete head to head with the PGA, letting my players migrate back and forth between LIV and DP, thus earning OWGR points. The biggest name PGA players will easily be bought and the PGA goes belly up. That's if I'm the Saudi's, not that I want that to happen.
@@vertstang123 Saudis already bought the Asian Tour It's only a matter of time before it eclipses DP. At this rate the relegated players will be better than the top players in DP LOL
If you are going to speculate, this was one of your better analysis. I enjoyed your look at the mess golf is in. I blame the PGA Tour. It was the plum, now it’s a raisin.
They were always against Greg - even during his career. They should have listened to him when this first kicked off and golf would have been in great hands
American living Dubai….stayed up watching LIV….team concept starting to grow on me….enjoyed watching…looking forward to attending Miami event during next visit to US
Who wanted to freeze their arse off and get rained on at Pebble this year? LIV Mayakoba had fabulous weather and for those living in cold climate states, such as myself, I want to see warmth, sunshine, Palm Trees, etc. If anyone at the PGAT had a brain, Pebble would be the final stop on the West Coast swing to try and have the best weather week possible. Early Feb. is simply way too dicey.
Actually I wanted to see the pros freeze, get rained on, and shoot scores in the 80's at Pebble When the Tour denied us that privilege I was disappointed
Who's writing the "beautiful coastline" story. Every year it looks like a very average beach covered in seaweed, freezing cold and pissing biblical rain!
@@DanielSong39 I'm sure it's fantastic nearly all the time. Just being a prick! It's probably an event that deserves a warm-weather time slot but I guess the resort is fully occupied then.
I haven't missed one LIV event since they started and attended Greenbrier last summer. I still watch the PGA Tour some but not nearly as much as I once did...
I'm excited to have LIV come to Vegas this week! I don't care at all about the SUPER DULL GAME! There are so many players playing on LIV that I like to watch and the PGA has so few now!
Look at the recent LIV tournament that just ended. They are right. Each tounament is like a major considering most of the top players of the world are playing against each other.
And where did they get those big name players from??? The PGA TOUR! Duh. You act like LIV developed these guys. They poached them. So the LIV guys USED the PGAT to get famous then left? Don’t act like LIV guys made their reputation on the LIV tour.
Yeah cause most majors have shotgun starts, play 54 holes, have loud music, no cut and are rewarded for just showing up. Yeah LIV sounds just like a major 😂. Said nobody ever. Even the LIV guys. I can just see them cranking Metallica on the porch at Augusta lol!
@@Macattack11639 Pretty soon LIV will have all of the top PGA players, they already have most of them. LIV is much better for the golfers, not the people at the top behind the scenes.
Great show guys, lots of news. Really enjoyed LIV this weekend. One of the best weekends of watching golf. It was a great course, record scores, and a awesome playoff. Can't get much better.
If the majors continue to give their 'tacit' support to the PGAT, then not long before they effectively become PGAT majors. This would make them indistinguishable to any other PGAT event. So what would make them special anymore. Their reputation would be completely gone and they will have brought it on themselves. It would be good to see the LIV guys boycott the majors to bring this to a head. Unfair to the players and too much to ask of them, but it would be an epic f**k you to both the PGAT and the majors.
3 out of the 4 majors are played in the US and mostly feature variations of 3 shot golf (Hit it as far as you can, hit it as high you can, make putts) Even the British Open (last year notwithstanding) has gravitated that way of late
I just can't wrap my head around what the PGA are doing, Everything they've done has made their position worse than it was. They just seem to be determined to keep the Saudi's out at any cost, even if it destroys the tour. This new SSG deal just seems to be a delaying tactic. But all it's going to do is allow more time for LIV to grow and become stronger, so when they eventually are forced to sit back down the the PIF they are in a way worse negotiating position.
Another great episode guys. Keep them coming - you bring great great thinking to the soap opera that is golf right now. When are the majors going to let the LIV posse in? It's an absolute must or they are only 'majors' by name. When are the OWGR going to get disbanded adn replaced with a system that recognises the LIV guys? The two pressure points are linked. Something has to give there.
What's the ideal solution/agreement? PIF sends $$$ to the PGA Tour. LIV continues, with a path to the majors and/or OWGR status. The PGA signature events have a handful of exemptions, which could go to big-name LIV players. LIV events welcome a PGA Tour guest team to its tournaments. Or…could PIF buy the DP World Tour?
The only way there is a ROI for SSG is to take the charity money that the tour generates, broadcast rights are gone until 2030 or make golf even more expensive which will not work
The stuff Spieth and Simpson are saying to the media is the equivalent of showing your opponent your hole cards in a game of high stakes poker Note to PGA Tour: you cannot bluff when your opponent knows what cards you have
I’m a LIVer®️. Most of my buds are also. We are confused. Exactly what will the newco do? How will they spend the money? Where would the 501 c 6 fit into the newco? Somewhere in this the DOJ will come in and lay down the new laws and let’s scrap this and start over with a even newer way and tip toe for a few years before it’s over and I mean it’s over! Okay, that effort didn’t work so let’s try this. Don’t like this but it’s too true! Sad but true!
DP World is a better broadcast than PGA. If the broadcasters thought about it, a similar interactive approach as F1 will move the needle. Maybe SSG have figured this out?
All LIV needs is OGWR points for access to the majors. They should provide funds to OWGR board except for PGA including DP World Tour, Masters, PGA of America, USGA, R&A Golf, and PGA International. They will then get many other top players. I think this latest deal is to give PGA Tour more leverage in PIF negotiation but it will be worthless unless there is a deal.
The fact that YT Golf has surpassed real golf for viewership, engagement, ad dollars, etc. should tell you everything you need to know where the professional game stands in the hearts and minds of consumers.
To address the nonprofit issue, in many states the Attorney General needs to approve a merger of nonprofit entity into a for profit entity. BUT a joint venture partnership could combine reources and share profits and theoretically escape AG review.
Rory's closer to signing with LIV than he's ever been. Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen soon, as he realizes the PGAT is on the verge of imploding. He's be wise to exit before it does and have security on LIV.
Almost guarantee there will be a lawsuit. Blumie cant stop that. As you said once that partnership motivation was , stop the law suits. Well the lawsuits will likely as not be back.
Absolutely right. It's now war and the OWGR, USGA, R&G and PGA of America are in the crosshairs. The Saudi's really don't give a crap about the PGAT or DP World tour. They'll slowly bleed both of them financially dry and be the last man standing.
The mules already lawyered up and are just looking for the right timing Yeah the Tour and Twitterverse might denigrate them but they seem to win every week!
Could the SSG be making a move to play hard to get with PIF to leverage more $$$ ? Keep them on the hook for 12-18 months and use OWGR/majors to push the ticket price for entry higher? Get in for 1.2B and get cashed out in 24 months for triple?
Rahm almost stormed to victory in his first LIV appearance. His team won (Hotton was second best on the team). LIV TV production was not as good as it use to be with a lot of audio problems. PGAT is a sinking ship.
Within 5 years LIV and PGA will merge. Just like Rugby League did in Australia after Rupert Murdoch and Kerry Packer competed for a while by controlling separate groups of teams.
As a golf professional, its the economy stupid, the PGA tour is spoiled, regardless of how good the golf is... Most of the public, have no idea that there are more, golf tours, and men playing, than there is the top 15 players, plus DP tour, The Asia tour, The Champion tour, and of course the LIV tour...shooting a 60 at Pebble won't bring back the crowds. The reason golf was hot in the 60's was Arnie, 70's Jack, 80's Tom, 2000 Tiger,/ Rory 23 yrs later, a Swed and a soph college kid????????
SSG's motivation makes no sense unless their exit strategy is to attempt a resale to PIF at a premium. But PIF/LIV is succeeding and is on track to win out just like the IRL and CART race league fight ended.
Problem with tour player reps like cantlay, who based on the ryder cup money payment issues, is obviously based on short term dollar results. How does that help player 150 and below who will struggle for dollars down the road, seems very short sighted
What happens when players #51 through #500 say enough? And they go for a two pronged approach where they get a salary and winnings. You gonna watch 50 boring guys week after week on a “PGA” tour?
Professional golf did nothing to bring in younger players. The golf business is a sales a marketing business for wealthier people. Where I live in LA, if you dont belong to a club, you dont have enough time to play or practice. Public takes 5-6 hours. Cool par 3 courses are almost all gone. All bad. The demo for golf is old and wont be replaced. In the future, pro golf will have to be players putting money in a pot and playing for it.
The equity is so meaningless as you guys point out. This thing is not really going to cash flow much, and if you don't have some way of refresher grants and taking shares back it just incentivizes the new crop of next generations players in 15 years to breakaway and start their own tour (with some new backers). Why would they want to watch all of the old retired players make bank on their labor? Absolutely no way to justify this $12b valuation. WWE just sold for $9b and has somewhat comparable revenues but way more friendly talent costs.
pga tour is self destructing they will have a product that will have very little commercial value unless negative gearing is a strategy the longer they try to resist the less they have to offer, america has the very best of everything but there's a flip side to this as well, wealthy out of touch professional golfers are not the guy's u want steering the tour
They should consider changing the name of the show “The Guy that Pontificates too Much and Barely Let’s his Cohost Get a Word in” That better describes the show.
PGAT will be defunct in five years, as PIF will bleed them dry and Rory knows this. If Spieth thinks SSG is the PGAT's friend and savior, he and his ilk are in a for a big letdown. Rory will be the next defector to LIV. I think he's just about had it with the PGAT and its organizational B.S.
Tiger gets the biggest share and a few connected insiders get most of the rest If you're outside the Top 50 you're lucky to get 6 figures These Tour pros are grown men with agents, surely they understand this? If they don't, their agents would?
PGA has openly said that if the deal goes through, the first thing they're doing is getting rid of Greg Norman and the second thing they're doing is dissolving LIV. So I have no idea why PIF would want a deal other than try to get OWGR points, but it would need to ensure LIV doesn't get dissolved. At this point, I think LIV control is off the table and PIF will just be an investor... best case scenario.
PGA got that deal done with Jay's previous employer so he can make enough commission on the deal to make his 2023 earnings look like pocket change. So Jay (once a Division III player) and Tiger (once the best but now mainly in sickbay) will probably get the most out of this deal. So, how will they keep top 200 or even top 100 or even top 50 happy with $1.5 billion after some of them said no to some very good offers from LIV...or will they again just reward the top 20/30 players and the 1 Has-Been? The PGA wasn't negotiating in good faith with PIF...they were pretending to want to make a deal to stop bleeding players (and fans) to LIV, while playing for time to find alternative investors to put pressure on PIF. Anyway, in my opinion the Tours should stay separate. If PGA wants to keep players they must make their product better and pay the players better (and at least more than former Division III player Jay and the has-been in sickbay). And if Majors down want to be downgraded to elevated PGA events they should invite LIV players to play...golf fans are not stupid, they know who is the top players. And does anybody really think OWGR is still relevant and a true and objective ranking of the best players...? You attract players to your tour and retain them by making it the best tour to play on...not by using your influence to punish other tours and players that think another tour is better...as simple as that. On LIV you have 1 to 2 (can have even 3) Major winners in more 3Ball pairings...compare that to what you see on PGA...so which is the best tour currently? So it would seem that the players on LIV wants to play there because they think it's the best tour...on the other hand players on PGA are playing there because they are scared of being punished if they accepted an offer to play on another tour...just saying
The real problem is that I no longer watch or care about the PGA tour. How does it become relevant? I don’t see it, LIV and the majors are where the best golf is played IMO. WGR is the biggest thing in golf right now and it’s a mess.
The players I want to watch are playing LIV. Rory and Tiger bring nothing to the table. The PGA tour is dead in my eyes. They blew it at every opportunity. I wouldn’t trust Jay and it seems they are doubling down on their short sightedness. If LIV had the same TV coverage the PGA would be gone. It will come, some channel will recognize LIV as a huge investment in golf. Already, manufacturers are seeing the future in LIV.
SSG and the PGA Tour say that the PGA Tour is worth $18 BILLION... They are giving $1.5 Billion to the top 200 players with the majority going to the "Previous Winners on the PGA Tour".... My question is where is the money? The PGA Tour owns little property... The only real asset are the PLAYERS .. How do the player get their money outside of playing golf in tournaments. There is NO MONEY if the sponsors go south... There are few assets... Where is the $18 Billion??? PIF is the only one with the MONEY... About $700,000,000,000.00 .... The PGA Tour on paper isn't worth $100 million ... SSG will leave as soon as the sponsors, and TV leave.... PIF ie LIV and DP World tour will be the only survivors... Tiger won because he is betting on TGL and as the biggest winner in the past will get the lions share of the $1.5 Billion... Tiger also keeps LIV and the PGA tour from becoming one big tour in hopes TGL will prosper. I don't think enough people want to watch Virtual Golf to make any money. Again where is the $1.5 Billion going to the PGA Tour PLAYERS coming from? The PGA Tour has little money left ...
TV revenue is plummeting, maybe because you have to pay $100+ a month for a provider to even watch TV so people are dropping their providers because their groceries have gone up 300%. I pay for internet because of my business and stream the few shows I watch, which isn't much.
Is the SSG using the PGA TOUR as a bridge to the PIF? Can the SSG make money off of the PGA TOUR? Or could future cooperation with the PIF in other business ventures be beneficial?
WHAT IF this all a ploy to get the PGA golfers who stayed loyal a pay out. Pga knows they can’t compete with the money. So they know it’s just a matter of time. Find a huge backer to say they basically bought the PGA for 2 billion. Then in one year sell for 3 billion to PIF give the backers some profit then divide the rest to the players that stayed loyal.
the pga brought this on themselves, when they were a monopoly they could mismanage the tour i.e. steal from employees by taking there tv rights so they could get at least 2 free days from the players .players were on tv and people at the course got to watch them...players entertained free....B.S,when the pga got competition they fail....pga sould be in court for anti-trust violations ...
Figure it out as we go along is exactly what LIV has done. They had very little in place when they launched, other than funding, and very little has gone the way they have anticipated.
Hmm. Not sure that’s accurate Schlyer. LIV did not invite Jimmy Dunne and the Framework back in June. Safe to say that was sooner than expected timing from a startup’s point of view. We would have said 3 years minimum in the LIV business plan. PIF has not said what their original plan or timeline is with respect to a JV with PGAT. All us fans would like sooner.
My two cents; I’m a golf player, not a golf watcher. I’ll watch the majors, on Sunday, otherwise? Golf was a niche sport, Tiger made it mainstream; golf watchers grew in numbers. LIV golf is great for golf watchers; it should prosper. Economics will turn golf into a SIM game played indoors with all the bells and mulligans the fans ask for. By that time my ashes will be scattered along my favorite fairway, thank god.
These guys seem to be batting about 0.00 lately. They use the restaurant analogy where it’s grossing $1 million in revenue but its expenditures are over 1 million, stating this is not sustainable. Is that not Liv Golf to a T? They have no viewership, no TV deals, few, if any sponsors besides the Saudi. That’s not sustainable!
What if...LIV told their players they would give them $1M each to NOT play in any major UNTIL the OWGR agreed to give the points in their (LIV) events? Think anyone would take the money?
The PGA is worth a lot of money. The infrastructure, all of the connections from point A to point Z is in place. That would be a good investment if they end up controlling the PGA. PIF thinks its worth a great deal to them. That makes the PGA very valuable. I suspect Greg Norman and PIF have a pretty damned good idea of what is going on and are just waiting for the PGA to do what they suspect the PGA is going to do.
Interesting that Speith thinks there should be punishment if players return! Presumably he is only referring to the US players or does he think all the USPGAT based International players need to be punished when they return to their home countries!? What does the punishment look like? Stoning, Cat O' Nine Tails? For 2 years Speith expressed no opinion at all and I thought he was taking a measured approach. Who knew he had a Homer Simpson thought bubble of his head that said 'Hmmmm boobies'
We know the pga tour is poorly run like some old man’s restaurant on kitchen nightmares that used to be good but has been washed up for years. Money getting pored in to no avail. Only increased debt. Only in this case there’s no Ramsey to save the day. Just a bunch of vultures trying to buy at the right time. These are folks who are buying the Tour time because they want to be in position to benefit from a deal with pif imo. If the deal doesn’t happen they are out of luck-because as we know pif and LIv will always win this battle because they got way more money (not to mention motivation from all the insults and such). But as you say each of these people are not risking too much; just enough to have a little fun and see where it goes. Of course they will help the tour, but these are rich guy investors, not golf entertainment genius. Tiger of course doesn’t invest in the tour, he extracts from it, as he should. He will invest his own money elsewhere.
PIF is the ONLY savior for the PGA Tour .... SSG will be gone after the PGA Tour loses a few more big names.... There is NO ROI for SSG ... PIF will eventually be the "Man with the money" to pay ... Tiger won this round .... a stall for his TGL venture ...
Can understand why Spieth would want to have LIV players punished...cause then he and his buddy JT have a better chance to get better finishes as to when the better players are present. If Rory left the PGA it would be the final nail in the coffin! I hope Spieth is driving EV's only...cause every time he fills his car up with fuel...well his fueling the PIF/LIV 🤣 By the way...why does all things golf have to be for and by the PGA? Unlike US baseball (you can't call something a world series if it's only played in the USA...USA is part of the world, not the world hey!), golf is a world sport...played, watched and followed by more people in the rest of the world than in the US. Just to show the reality...+-25 million people playing golf in the USA (PGA's main target audience)...and +-42 million golfers outside the USA (LIV's international target group of 67 mil)...so which tour has a bigger target group for Advertisers and Sponsors would you say? Anyway, you mentioned the "Ryder Cup" teams....that is what think the World Tour should be. Make up 12 member teams between the tours and compete in say 3 to 6 Ryder Cup-type events and see who's the best team...or shall I say how easily LIV wins it!
Speith has never struggled to make money or get tournament exemptions. Money and success came early for him. I think that he has trouble seeing anything bad with the pga tour cuz he has been a made man since his early 20s.
PGA Tour is dead if they don’t get the big names back on their tour. No one is paying to see Denny McCarthy shoot 28 to lose in a playoff to a former drive chip and putt participant. The talent on the PGA Tour is not as strong without the boys from LIV.
LIV Mayakoba was a much more compelling and entertaining tournament than Pebble. All the "alpha male" golfers, save Tiger and Rory are on LIV now. Those that used to move the needle on the PGAT, i.e. Spieth, JT, Fowler, are in decline. The Wyndham Clarks of the golfing world don't bring eyeballs to the screen. PGAT is hanging their hat on Ludwig Aberg, Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler. Problem is, Scottie's the only U.S. born player and the PGAT is a U.S. centric tour.
One question you intelligent guys haven’t addressed. No big names on PGAT. Big names on LIV. Who was DJ when he was 22? A no name. Who was Koepka when he was 22? A nobody. So why logically couldn’t the next 22 year old player become a “name” player when he wins 5 tournaments. It happens organically fellas. You have yet to address that. No snark, just simple logic. And this Matsuyama thing to LIV is laughable. Guy doesn’t even speak English. No one cares about him except Japanese fans.
Turns out I was right about the 'deal.' Rahm was the breaking point. The Hamas attacks and LIV silence was the tell. Antisemitism and bullying is poison to the PGAT brand. If there is a next time, LIV must become more worthy on all counts, while their existing players grow restless and more isolated.
A couple things on LIV. What is up with the Leaderboard? Don’t know what hole they’re on, a bunch of neon colors. Wheee, pretty colors 😂! Why the music? It’s golf not a concert. 54 holes? Oh boo hoo, 72 holes is too hard, I cant concentrate that long. LIV is for Gen Z and millennials who are generally attention seeking and didn’t get enough attention from mommy and daddy. Love golf, but I play in 3 leagues I’ll just play more instead of watching exhibition matches of spoiled athletes playing for who can be richer. Yawn. How bout playing for the Stanley Cup, where guys beat the crap out of each other just to hold the greatest trophy in sports b/c they wanna win. Rahm, Bryson, Brooksie and DJ are soft as Charmin.
@@ThinkingManShow I’m not sure your point. Hockey players don’t make a lot of money. Especially for the beating they take. Furthering my point that Bryson is soft as Charmin and is way overpaid for a league that generates little revenue. It think it’s quite obvious PIF has plenty of money to burn. Is it for the good of the game? You seem to be impressed by money and LIV. I’m more impressed by character. Like say compare Arnold Palmers character vs Phil Mickelson.
Think analogously, Jack and Arnie vs. PGA and pros. Tiger and Rory vs. PGA Tour players. Money for the "draws", next to nothing for the "drones". LIV is SO much more interesting to watch than Tiger prepping every (mediocre) shot. The PGA Tour is flopping around like a landed fish.

Actually I wanted to see the pros freeze, get rained on, and shoot scores in the 80's at Pebble
When the Tour denied us that privilege I was disappointed
Who's writing the "beautiful coastline" story. Every year it looks like a very average beach covered in seaweed, freezing cold and pissing biblical rain!

(at least it did in the past)
@@DanielSong39 I'm sure it's fantastic nearly all the time. Just being a prick!
It's probably an event that deserves a warm-weather time slot but I guess the resort is fully occupied then.

To Death star's comment- did not watch one shot of Pebble. Watched 5-7 hours this weekend of LIV Mayakoba. First time. Won't be the last.
Me too. Just got done watching an incredible playoff in the dark at LIV Mayakoba and didn't watch a single shot at Pebble. Didn't miss a thing.
Well the PGA is finally going to achieve its NON profit goal 😢.
😂😂😂😂. They won’t have to worry about hiding money
Look at the recent LIV tournament that just ended. They are right. Each tounament is like a major considering most of the top players of the world are playing against each other.
Yup, every tournament has a major like leader board. And it’s exciting
Is it fair to say just as the golfers at Pebble Beach weekend have lost star power. The 'celebrity Participants' have lost star power?
If the majors continue to give their 'tacit' support to the PGAT, then not long before they effectively become PGAT majors. This would make them indistinguishable to any other PGAT event. So what would make them special anymore. Their reputation would be completely gone and they will have brought it on themselves. It would be good to see the LIV guys boycott the majors to bring this to a head. Unfair to the players and too much to ask of them, but it would be an epic f**k you to both the PGAT and the majors.
3 out of the 4 majors are played in the US and mostly feature variations of 3 shot golf
(Hit it as far as you can, hit it as high you can, make putts)
Even the British Open (last year notwithstanding) has gravitated that way of late
I don’t think the majors can shut out liv players much longer, or people will stop playing.
Why doesn't PIF scoop up the DP Tour, Asian Tour, Australian etc. too have a true global tour and leave the PGA struggling on by themselves?
The DP will forever be slaves to the pga tour.
They are behaving like a Woman in a divorce
Another great episode guys. Keep them coming - you bring great great thinking to the soap opera that is golf right now. When are the majors going to let the LIV posse in? It's an absolute must or they are only 'majors' by name. When are the OWGR going to get disbanded adn replaced with a system that recognises the LIV guys? The two pressure points are linked. Something has to give there.
Taylor had a triple bogey on Sunday came back with 5 birdies in a row for a 64 and helped his team to win the team event.
Caleb Surratt?
What's the ideal solution/agreement? PIF sends $$$ to the PGA Tour. LIV continues, with a path to the majors and/or OWGR status. The PGA signature events have a handful of exemptions, which could go to big-name LIV players. LIV events welcome a PGA Tour guest team to its tournaments. Or…could PIF buy the DP World Tour?
The only way there is a ROI for SSG is to take the charity money that the tour generates, broadcast rights are gone until 2030 or make golf even more expensive which will not work
Brilliant analysis on LIV and PGA tours.
The stuff Spieth and Simpson are saying to the media is the equivalent of showing your opponent your hole cards in a game of high stakes poker
Note to PGA Tour: you cannot bluff when your opponent knows what cards you have
I’m a LIVer®️.
Senate/DOJ interference is all about denying PIF....PGAT are so crooked
DP World is a better broadcast than PGA. If the broadcasters thought about it, a similar interactive approach as F1 will move the needle. Maybe SSG have figured this out?
How can a 501(c)(6) hide their federal filings? Surely those are public and would give insight. Am I off base here?
Another great discussion 👍
Name the names please, hard to follow the plan without “who’s who”
All LIV needs is OGWR points for access to the majors.
Create a world tour without the pga… stop trying to placate the monopolist
Go LIV
GO BIG!
The fact that YT Golf has surpassed real golf for viewership, engagement, ad dollars, etc. should tell you everything you need to know where the professional game stands in the hearts and minds of consumers.
Bodo...for limited fields 54 holes is the answer...
To address the nonprofit issue, in many states the Attorney General needs to approve a merger of nonprofit entity into a for profit entity. BUT a joint venture partnership could combine reources and share profits and theoretically escape AG review.
Thx Spring..........from a federal tax point of view, what would the US IRS make of this PGATE deal?
If the PGA goes with the SSG only by passing LIV, what is the possibility of Rory signing with LIV at some point...anything is possible
Rory's closer to signing with LIV than he's ever been. Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen soon, as he realizes the PGAT is on the verge of imploding. He's be wise to exit before it does and have security on LIV.
Screw Rory !!! Victor and then literally have NOTHING
The mules already lawyered up and are just looking for the right timing
Yeah the Tour and Twitterverse might denigrate them but they seem to win every week!
Could the SSG be making a move to play hard to get with PIF to leverage more $$$ ? Keep them on the hook for 12-18 months and use OWGR/majors to push the ticket price for entry higher? Get in for 1.2B and get cashed out in 24 months for triple?
Wait to AK joins LIV ...
And if AK is any good, phew that would be pretty huge. I expect him to be good, the talent has to still be there.
Rahm almost stormed to victory in his first LIV appearance. His team won (Hotton was second best on the team). LIV TV production was not as good as it use to be with a lot of audio problems.
PGAT is a sinking ship.
The most positive thing pro golf brings is the cart?
Within 5 years LIV and PGA will merge. Just like Rugby League did in Australia after Rupert Murdoch and Kerry Packer competed for a while by controlling separate groups of teams.
I dont' think they can afford to wait that long
@@stevef4010 Even with SSG plans going ahead ?
Wasn't the original commitment by pga and pif based on dropping all legal suits. Now what happens?
PIF is going to sue the OWGR and the majors for collusion and exclusion of its players in their tournaments.

They have that now. It's called the Champions Tour. LOL!
They're gonna grind it into the ground.. pgat suffering still. SSG is prolonging the direness.
Interested in your equity comment being for current and retrospective players. Love it, how many shares will Greg Norman get? (100 weeks at no.1)
331 weeks lol
Zero shares
@@Lowtech14 of course not! It’s a bubble
Tiger gets the biggest share and a few connected insiders get most of the rest
If you're outside the Top 50 you're lucky to get 6 figures
These Tour pros are grown men with agents, surely they understand this? If they don't, their agents would?
PGA has openly said that if the deal goes through, the first thing they're doing is getting rid of Greg Norman and the second thing they're doing is dissolving LIV. So I have no idea why PIF would want a deal other than try to get OWGR points, but it would need to ensure LIV doesn't get dissolved. At this point, I think LIV control is off the table and PIF will just be an investor... best case scenario.
Norman snd LIV arent going anywhere.
Furthermore, most fans consider the majors as part of the PGA Tour.
Andretti/GM -American team just got cut out and refused team in F1,a heavily Saudi sponsored entity. Coincidence?
F1 hates Americans.
Tigers virtual golf shit is dead in the water. Even Rory wants out.
TV revenue is plummeting, maybe because you have to pay $100+ a month for a provider to even watch TV so people are dropping their providers because their groceries have gone up 300%. I pay for internet because of my business and stream the few shows I watch, which isn't much.
Or perhaps cuz the commercials insult us half the time
Is the SSG using the PGA TOUR as a bridge to the PIF? Can the SSG make money off of the PGA TOUR? Or could future cooperation with the PIF in other business ventures be beneficial?
Just copying the ATP would be a simple way to start
Are they going to go the pay per view route?
If PGA Tour goes the PPV route I think the views will plummet 90%
Who's going to watch? The gamblers?
Hey guys....I been telling you about Rory.....bit by bit...step by step.
Tiger forbids Rory from leaving the plantation
Greg has been pretty gracious to Rory. I think Rory regrets not joining liv
All us fans would like sooner.
ouch....you and PIF underestimated the PGA TOUR, unlike F1 and soccer....🙏
3 rounds would be more financially viable too
My two cents; I’m a golf player, not a golf watcher.
LIV doesn’t need to. They already pay a fortune. 🔮
Yeah but, what about telling their players to boycott the majors until the OWGR points are awarded?
The PGA is worth a lot of money. The infrastructure, all of the connections from point A to point Z is in place. That would be a good investment if they end up controlling the PGA. PIF thinks its worth a great deal to them. That makes the PGA very valuable.
I suspect Greg Norman and PIF have a pretty damned good idea of what is going on and are just waiting for the PGA to do what they suspect the PGA is going to do.
Not really. LIV can put on an event in Japan, Germany, or Scotland while the
PGA tour is putting on the rock mortgage.
PGA leadership's so arrogant and chauvinistic, it will be its undoing
You mentioned equity - is there PIF money for women’s golf?
PIF is the ONLY savior for the PGA Tour .... SSG will be gone after the PGA Tour loses a few more big names.... There is NO ROI for SSG ... PIF will eventually be the "Man with the money" to pay ... Tiger won this round .... a stall for his TGL venture ...
I don’t see Yassir throwing the PGA Tour a lifeline again. They have been proven untrustworthy
Would you leave your kids with Jay Monahan???
@@chevy4x466 true...about his early years. But in the last few years he and JT have been very average...
The action was non stop
Marx would have a field day with this
One question you intelligent guys haven’t addressed.
💖 'Promosm'
Turns out I was right about the 'deal.' Rahm was the breaking point. The Hamas attacks and LIV silence was the tell. Antisemitism and bullying is poison to the PGAT brand. If there is a next time, LIV must become more worthy on all counts, while their existing players grow restless and more isolated.
GOLF IS DEAD111
Thx Mac - love hockey especially college hockey in America. What’s the average contract salary for NHL players on a Stanley Cup winning team?
@@ThinkingManShow I’m not sure your point. Hockey players don’t make a lot of money. Especially for the beating they take. Furthering my point that Bryson is soft as Charmin and is way overpaid for a league that generates little revenue. It think it’s quite obvious PIF has plenty of money to burn. Is it for the good of the game? You seem to be impressed by money and LIV. I’m more impressed by character. Like say compare Arnold Palmers character vs Phil Mickelson.
Is it my imagination or are very few people watching the PGA
It’s your imagination
Think analogously, Jack and Arnie vs. PGA and pros. Tiger and Rory vs. PGA Tour players. Money for the "draws", next to nothing for the "drones". LIV is SO much more interesting to watch than Tiger prepping every (mediocre) shot. The PGA Tour is flopping around like a landed fish.
