  • I am quite obsessed with rendering natural environments, and it is frustrating to have to use a path tracer and wait an eternity to get high-quality videos where forests and rich vegetation are the main features. Especially when I think about how Lumen in UE5 can create stunning results (note that in UE, Lumen can benefit from a different shadow engine, Nanite, and several other functionalities not present in Twinmotion). However, even the latest version of D5 has extremely high-quality rendering.
In this video, you can see the results of some tests with Lumen (rendering time less than 10 minutes on my RTX4080). I'm not sure how satisfied I am with the result because there are too many artifacts, and the fullness of the rendering and lighting of the path tracer (or Lumen in UE5) is missing. Additionally, it is necessary to balance light direction, intensity, contrast, and exposure to achieve an acceptable result, which is quite complicated and not always satisfactory.
What can I say? At the moment, the result I managed to achieve is close to adequate, nothing more. Assets from Quixel and Sketchfab.

it looks good to me, Luca. perhaps a bit of noise on the highlights but might be the YT compression. What were your rendering settings?

Is there a way to fix highlight noise in the TWINMOTION? I'm also very nervous about the reflection because of that.
