- Dirk Benedict en Dwight Shultz, alias Face en Murdoch van de A-Team zijn hun wilde haren nog niet kwijt. Met plezier komen ze langs bij Michiel Devlieger.
Luitenant Templeton Peck, gespeeld door Dirk Benedict, kreeg als bijnaam Faceman, meestal afgekort tot Face. Een verwijzing naar zijn knappe gezicht waarmee hij zonder enige moeite alles weet te regelen. Vrouwelijk schoon is nooit veilig bij hem.
Kapitein H.M. "Howlin Mad" Murdock, gespeeld door Dwight Schultz, is de piloot van het team. Hoewel hij officieel tot gek verklaard is, is hij een waardevol lid.
Beiden zijn te gast bij "De Laatste Show" en zitten op de bank bij Michiel Devlieger.
Before Jim Carey, there was Dwight Schultz... Too bad Hollywood didn't tap into his genius to the max. Great guys and a great show, no wonder there are still fans even today.
I think he was way better than Jim Carrey , Jim carrey does the mask in every role he plays.
He was awesome in Stargate SG1.
I thought that when they were casting the "A-Team" film, they would cast Jim Carrey as Murdock.
I'm glad they didn't. Murdoch has a more subtle craziness, whereas Carrey would play it more manic and over-the-top.
So true, and don't agree with the others, Jim has mega talent, and intersting at this present time how much he is critical of Hollywood....he is more similar to Dwight than just his humour, it would appear...

I loved the scenes where Murdock was being sprung from the hospital with Face. My faves. Also, I love the bad boys. Love love love.
Dwight' s got a really great voice!
A-Team was and is still awesome (the series). Loved it as a kid, and I still can't zap away when they're on.
Murdock brought the comedy, had me in stitches all the time, my childhood best tv series,
Incredible that the high-ups thought Murdock wouldn't be liked. Idiots! The show wouldn't have been nearly as great without Murdock! (It also helped that Dwight and Dirk became great friends.)

They need to give the A Team another shot, an extended episode with the original guys coming back playing themselves, but older.

I'd forgotten how snobbish the network had been about the show's success, even as it was making the network big profits. Even back then there was a disconnect between the audience and the networks.

I watched this belgian talk show almost every night and i was really excited when i heard Dwight and Dirk would be on it. Great guys. Murdock's my fav :)

Dwight Shultz should have been one of the best actors that come out of Hollywood.
Dwight was one of the best, but Hollywood didn't know how to write for him. (That was back when Hollywood tended to typecast everyone, even actors like Dwight had a very wide range of abilities. He could do drama, subtlety, action, anything.) Dwight has been greatly in demand doing voice acting, and he and Dirk have remained good friends.
Im an 80s kid i watched it got the figures the van the armoured vehicle was my life as a kid murdock and Mr T was my favourite but it was all good best tv programme of all time win win. Howling mad Murdock if your reading this thankyou! :-)
The A-Team was good-- I have seen some reruns. Peppard died way too early.
Back in 94,yeah much too young.

God! I love the A-Team, the actual show and the actors themselves. I so love how they don't take themselves seriously.
It sounds like Peppard took things too seriously.

In my humble opinion Dwight Shultz' talent exceeds Jim Carrey's - I don't think it's close - Jim Carrey plays essentially the same character in every movie - and it's an anoying one - he and John Depp must've had the same acting coach -
Dwight is extremely versital and he's still relevant

One person died. Shot in the back getting into a helicopter. General Fulbright, if I have it correct. They Team went to help him rescue his daughter.... if I remember correctly.
@@Beano175b I stand corrected. I must have missed that part of that episode. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that countless bullets were fired but all but one missed their targets. I’m glad they didn’t show people being shot. The A Team was great the way it was without gratuitous violence. I still watch this series. I just wish they made more episodes.

True. Dwight Schultz seems like a really cool guy. Dirk Benedict is great as well, but he appears a bit weary of being in public view which is unusual given his character was so smooth on tv.

Why do you think they were in Europe doing interviews right when the dvd was released?
The host says at the beginning: “En omdat een cover zelden beter is dan het origineel, hebben we hier vanavond de echte Face en Murdock.”
“And because a cover (as in: cover song) is rarely better than the original, we have here tonight the real Face and Murdock.”
So yes, the host knew. On top of that, Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz had cameos in the movie, and you can assume that the renewed interest in them, and them being invited to comic cons and such in that particular year, is mostly because of the movie. I don’t think they minded plugging the movie at all!
Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz are not stinking rich Hollywood actors, and doing interviews and talks and such is probably a necessary part of their income.

If I'd been an actress on the A-Team and Dirk had explained he wasn't really a ladies man and he had no intention of doing anything in real life I'd have been pretty disappointed.

@klwewf --Meaning, Dirk was the heart-throb, the sex symbol as Starbuck, but when Dwight played Murdock and got to play not only his crazy side, but a romantic part as well, Dirk almost took a backseat to the suave, handsome and ever playful Dwight. Just my opinion....

Holland, you are lucky you got the show untouched! So did Sweden, where I grew up. But France, oh, France.... They renamed Murdock and Face, They renamed the show, they replaced the themesong with a French one, and, worst of all, THEY DUBBED ALL THE VOICES!! It is torture to watch, for me who grew up with the real thing. But still, the French love their A-Team, or "l'Agence tous risques", as it is called here.

@@rowanaforrest9792 They're both conservative; I think Dirk has said in other interviews that it hindered his career, but then he kind of gave up acting for some years to raise his sons as a single father instead - which speaks volumes for him in my book.
@@shaitarn1869 Yes indeed! Much like James Caan did for his son Scott, he passed up a lot of work so he could be in the home when Scott was growing up. Dirk, I think, has 3 sons, while Dwight has a wife and daughter, but with his vocal abilities I think Dwight has been working steadily as a voice actor. Both are family men! :)

I definitely think Dwight is better-looking than Dirk in real life, but Murdock really wasn't a sexy part; he's an enduring and hugely popular character for other reasons, he rarely gets to look good. Hannibal was really the sexiest part for an actor, because he's the big hero and his coolness is genuine where Face is a conman.
