I absolutely love the workmanship that goes into making the outfits. The details and the material. Also the imagination. That is one reason I like watching the show.
I love the clothes in this show so much, I think this season my favorite outfits were Cora's blue dress in storybrook and the deep red one she wore at the ball.
Eduardo is such a brilliant costume designer!! His style is very refreshing to see that he sketches and paints his designs by hand in a time when designs are so overly digital and standardized.
My art assignment is to create a decor or a prop for an existing tv show, movie, video game, etc. And I've decided to create something for Once Upon A Time. I'm thinking about creating a costume for one of the characters (probably Emma). And with this video I got a better idea of how to design it. I loved this video!
Yeah... I eventually didn't do it. I didn't have enough time for it. I made a gun for Emma with a black Swan (because she later became the dark one) and because rumplestiltskin had his dagger with his powers, I did this for Emma.
The costumes that they have created for each of these characters are just absolutely STUNNING. And I love how, in a very powerful sense, the costumes define the character just as much as their name or their personality. For example, you can look at Regina and tell very clearly by her costume and makeup which role she is playing. Regina as Madame Mayor at the beginning will have a very sharp grey or black business suit. Regina as the Evil Queen has these very dark, bold dresses and dark makeup. Regina before she was the Evil Queen was a bit softer with her costume color palette and makeup. Regina as she became a hero in Storybrooke also had a softness about her, but still professional. The clothes and makeup weren't quite as sharp. They were a bit softer and more romantic. Rumplestiltskin as well.....Before he was the Dark One he is in these ragged clothes and has his cane and he's almost trying to hide. As the Dark One, he has the gold makeup and the leather coat and the creepy giggle. As the Beast, he had that too. As Mr. Gold, he would be in suits. With Hook, he has this very strong, black leather costume, and he's the charming and handsome pirate and then it translates into his Storybrooke look. I do like that he's one of the only ones without a counterpart in Storybrooke. Its like they are giving the person watching a subtle signal with the costumes which character they are meant to be seeing. And just the DETAIL they put into each of these costumes is amazing. You can tell they didn't just throw something together half-assed. A lot of time and creativity and consideration went into each costume.
Those costumes are amazing. I just love them! I'm trying to diy them but it is hard. I actually want to make some costumes and then think up of some characters. Plus act them out.
This is absolutely fantastic, but the one dress I want to see I think might have been sitting behind Eduardo, it's young snows Pink Dress, I want to see it up close and what is underneath the dress to get it's shape. It was the best behind the scenes costume video I have seen to date though.
I wish the UK could have a display of these costumes. ESPECIALLY THAT YOUNG SNOW WHITE PINK DRESS. I have tried several times contacting abc television through their website and facebook, but no reply's except automated ones. I have tried contacting the designer of the costumes to see if this would be possible, but get no reply's, what are you supposed to do to get a response I ask.
The difference in the levels of artistry, style and craftsmanship between Once Upon a Time and Descendants is one of the many reasons Descendants doesn’t work
I'm a sucker for all the behind the scenes stuff I can get my hands on. Seeing just how much goes into it makes me appreciate it that much more. If u check out my channel here, I'm sure u can see just how inspiring Once is to me :-) And I must say Neil, u've been part of some of my fave guilty pleasures :) Vampire Diares, Once, Twilight, Final Destination & Hellcats (I was SOOOO bummed when it got cancelled!) - Keep up the amazing work, Neil & thanks 4 commenting!
half went up for auction, I own 15 of them myself including several in this video. another half reside in a private rental facility a good portion were kept by some of the actors for example Rebecca and lana both kept most of theirs and the last remaining ones disney archived along with some of the more iconic props like emmas baby blanket and the enchated wardrobe.
2:34 When in the series did Regina ever wear an outfit like that? I don't remember that scene. (If someone knows and wants to tell me, please don't worry about spoilers; I've seen every season!)
I don't think I want to know what his costume budget was lol I think this show may have been the only tv series that had an allotment just for Swarovski crystals
I always believe you clothes tell you more about who you way before your mouth or actions do and Yhese guys just proved that point 100% and did it GREAT❤💯🔥🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭I love y’all!
Their effects may not be the best, but the amount of time and detail they put in the costumes is amazing. They are always super cool
What effects? They're all amazing, unique and incredibly detailed!
@@saimahaych ikr! especially since the show started in 2011, the effects are amazing!!

The costumes of this show are gorgeous!
They should do a book like the Trisha Biggar dressing a galaxy book with full fabric descriptions and how they are made. :)
They should!
This was a really enjoyable look at how their gorgeous costumes are made.
This really does show the level of work that we all put in to make this show look as fabulous as it does.
