You’re forgetting gorillas are far more intelligent, have serious muscle mass in the arms, which are significantly longer than bears arms, and bears don’t swipe much anyway, so those claws are useless, bears prefer to grapple and bite, which as you said wouldn’t do much since gorillas have a much stronger bite. Gorillas are stronger, faster, smarter and have the preferred fighting style for 1v1 combat
