I remember “back in the golden days” of exit passes. Because I’m autistic, I could do the whole exit pass thing with my dad as my carer; and this was when little was know about it, and it was essentially unregulated. I managed to do Vampire 16 times in a day when I was 8, which got me a letter from some Merlin high-up
Looking at old footage of these places is sad. Always breaks your heart to see what theme parks, museums and shopping centres used to be and what’s not there anymore.
Used to go for day trips quite a bit as a kid. Remember loving the circus there and the Bubbleworks was my favourite ride. The vampire shop in the 90’s was also awesome and the area theming just felt better (but that might have just been because it was through child eyes). Also remember the action man assault course, which was a bit of fun - burned a bit of energy 😆
Not me crying at bubbleworks and the Ferris wheel and monorail, they were my favorite rides in the park, went up today and filmed a vlog and saw mandrill mayhem testing the roar is incredible. Hope ur doing well!! ❤❤
As a themepark enthusiast that doesn't actually visit the parks, 08/09 was probably the last time i'd been to chessington so this was a right blast from the past!
I would love for you to do paultons park as i work there as a ride operator and i know alot has changed in past few years and would be cool to see what it was like even though i could do it in like 5 mins but you make great and enjoyable content out of it
I never got to do ramses, I was either too scared or it was closed. One time there was a powercut.😅 I loved bubbleworks, best soundtrack ever. One time I got stuck on safari skyway for an hour and got a free doughnut
One of my biggest regret is never going on Rameses Revenge before it closed. But holy shit seeing the monorail truly brought a tear to my eye. I have a lot of weird nostalgia around Chessigton despite living 20 mins away from Legoland for most of my life
I was probably one of the few that got to go on rameses revenge and ill tell you it was an experience like no other but seeing it gone and realizing that it will never come back hurts still
After the previous Back In Time video I looked up the Legoland StreetView myself; lots of stuff in there I recognised, but there were some areas like the far side of the lake that I think I never actually entered until long after all the old stuff had been removed (I'd seen the Jungle Coaster, but I'm not sure I knew Dino Safari existed).
Dan I actually agree with you when you said chessington is the 3rd biggest park in the uk over pleasure beach. This new area is gunna be big for the park and bring a lot more attention to it
You only went back to 2009, but if you could have seen it in 1989 or even 1999 you would have been mind blown! The destruction of Chessington started in the early/mid 2000's.
Hello There, a great Video how about a back in time to Paultons Park and Legoland, it was great to hear your perspective. In those days Vampire was running 3 trains. Cheers Peter :)
Do blackpool pleasure beach! Honestly in some areas of the park back in 2009, it looks so unrecognizable. You really forget how much things change over the years.
Nice video, honestly miss most of these attractions even some of them that I didn't even go on. Like Ramses Revenge was a good flat ride for thrill enthusiasts, really missed & think maybe could relocated it? But not completely removed it, bad call there I think from Chessington. Loved Bubble Works, hope when IP runs out on Gruffalo they refurbish into a modern day new bubble works or if not restore it as it was? Was a really good ride, loved the water tunnels & fountain, epic area. About modern day, think in my opinion Scorpion Express needs to be removed 100%, created way for something new, was thinking maybe a proper mine train like BTMRR? Vekoma Mine Train coaster as that type be epic? If not? In a few years if jungle a.k.a Jumanji was extended? Could build it in there? Doubt any of it will happen, but worth considering? But nice video, really enjoyed and look forward to next video. 😀👍
Dan would you consider doing a WHAT IF... video about Towers or thorpe? You could talk about what if an old concept was built instead of something else. Loving the videos as normal ❤
I saw Rameses Revenge once and remembered nearly falling on the floor as I saw it flip upside down with water in everybody's faces so I never rid it but I still don't want to lol
Go back further in the parks especially Chessington i used to live local and saw so many changes. 5th dimension was amazing they shouldn't have changed it
Honestly, props to Dan for travelling back to 2009 to look at old Chessington! Thank you!

Bubble works before the Imperial Leisure overlay is the one!! Man, I miss that park from my childhood haha
It’s so good to see chessington more than a decade ago. Maybe you could go back in time at Legoland? Love the vid Dan!
Thank you! Will definitely consider Legoland for a future video! 🔥
I love this little series! This was my childhood park! I remember crying on vampire when I went on it for the first time… 😂
Omg same!
Great video. This one has been the most nostalgic for me - so much has changed since 2009!
Thank you!
I really miss Rameses Revenge

I'm 38 out now, and let me tell you! - Chessington WoA's in the 1990s and 2000s was amazing! really REALLY miss Rammy and Terror Tombs!

safari skyway always randomly stopped lmao
One of my biggest regret is never going on Rameses Revenge before it closed. But holy shit seeing the monorail truly brought a tear to my eye. I have a lot of weird nostalgia around Chessigton despite living 20 mins away from Legoland for most of my life
Ye same, I so wish I went on it
I was probably one of the few that got to go on rameses revenge and ill tell you it was an experience like no other but seeing it gone and realizing that it will never come back hurts still
7:10 POV: You go under the track into the land of Jumanji, and you stop and stare, and smile saying, "I remember when this was all fields".
I love ur content Dan, great vid😊
Thank you!!
Could you go back in time at Paultons Park, just think it would be interesting considering how much they've changed over the last 10 years or so!
Will definitely note it down!
Amazing vid Dan!!Love this series a lot!
Thank you so much!!
Dan I actually agree with you when you said chessington is the 3rd biggest park in the uk over pleasure beach. This new area is gunna be big for the park and bring a lot more attention to it
You should do Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It's so weird because the park has changed so much. There are so many closed attractions everywhere.
You only went back to 2009, but if you could have seen it in 1989 or even 1999 you would have been mind blown! The destruction of Chessington started in the early/mid 2000's.
I don’t think google maps existed in 1989… or google as a whole
I recently went on Talocan, first time on a top spin, SO GOOD!
I wish Rameses revenge was still there
Wish I could go to Chessington, sadly it is really far away from me... Awesome video dan, Keep up the great content!
Chessington is a bit far for us too, 2 hours! He tend to drive down one day, sleep over and then have a full day at the park!
@@ProfessorRed12 I wish I was two hours, Google maps says 5 and a half hours for us...
@@l0wh1n can you train it? Would that be quicker?
@@ProfessorRed12 Potentially, but even still it would be quite far to go... Maybe in future though.
Hello There, a great Video how about a back in time to Paultons Park and Legoland, it was great to hear your perspective. In those days Vampire was running 3 trains. Cheers Peter :)
I love the rides in Chesington
Same!! My favourite is Dragons Fury tied with Vampire! What about you?
Bubble Works used to be my Jam! 5 year old me loved that shit so much
AMAZING VIDEO DAN
Thank you!!
Do blackpool pleasure beach! Honestly in some areas of the park back in 2009, it looks so unrecognizable. You really forget how much things change over the years.
I always liked Chessington for some reason, good video as well 😀😀

Just donated £3 to hero all day, wish I had more but ya know, I've struggled with mental health before and it's brilliant what you are doing.
Thank you so much for the donation, and hope you're all well 🙏🏻

Dan would you consider doing a WHAT IF... video about Towers or thorpe? You could talk about what if an old concept was built instead of something else. Loving the videos as normal ❤
Thank you! I've actually done a what if video to do with Towers, but may do one in future for Thorpe! Cheers for the suggestion! 👍
This video has me going through so many feelings
I saw Rameses Revenge once and remembered nearly falling on the floor as I saw it flip upside down with water in everybody's faces so I never rid it but I still don't want to lol

A minute of silence for our beloved professor burp, best fizzy drink manufacturer in the uk
Will you be going to see the new track for nemesis (when it starts to get put in of course)?
I went today and on Sunday, mandrill mayhem tested both days.
Go Back to the early 70s When it was a Zoo and ride the Miniature Railway around the Zoo / Park Ahhh the Thrills 😆🤣
This video makes me sad because I've only now realised how many absolute classics are gone. Even the runaway mine train?
Very good vid keep it up👍👍
