Great vid. I immediately went to buy that Brautigan book but it costs a fortune online. I loved that poem you read from it. All the best on that not buying books thing. I think you will fail. I always fail!

That may be true! but let's see how long i can go!
Speaking of buying books, I collect Brautigan, i buy his old paperbacks when ever i find them.

Great video, Erik! Love the poem you recited. Poetry is one of the few genres I hardly get around to reading. Good luck with your Read-What-You-Own challenge. I notice that I find it increasingly difficult not to buy new books (but I'm hanging on).

I also don't read much poetry. I always WANT to, but i'm just not drawn to it as much as I wish I was, or think I SHOULD be.

That's 😁 funny. Quit 2 bad habits in one day. I've been meaning to take up smoking. Heard it makes you look cool. But seriously, congrats on quitting. Maybe I should do half-year resolutions. Now I gotta think of some self-improvement items in the next 11 hours.

I have read Richard Brautigan real in the time 60's. Trout Fishing in America and The Abortion were two pretty interesting cult classics then A Confederate General from Big Sur made him more popular. That novel is hilarious as I recall.

Trout Fishing was my introduction to Brautigan. In Watermelon Sugar is probably my favorite. Big Sur is fantastic. Willard and his Bowling Trophies is bizarre and dirty. crazy book. One day i'll do a video covering all his works; I'm planning a great reread. one day!
