- Gameplay from Pacific Strike, Origin's 1994 WWII flight sim. Watch as I lead a strike force to sink a light carrier using SBD Dauntless dive bombers.
Also check my blog for tips about how to get the game running with speech in Dosbox.
this needs to be remastered, i would preorder :D
Hell will freeze over before EA does anything with the Origin properties that they own.
The giant man is telling me how to land!
never got this game to run on my PC back in the day. This is the first time I have ever seen it lol! I do recognize the guy at 0:26 from the game wing commander privateer though.
Fun game, back in the day. Time flies.
I loved this game, but I absolutely hated having to use general assignments until the last mission because friendly pilots had the life expectancy of a bad guy in a Chuck Norris movie due to deeply flawed AI.
4:55 "hot dog! i got me a jap" - "hey wait! leave some for me!" - "look at that baby burn" ..... toooo funny! lol
A lot of “WC” references nothing very historically accurate about this game.
I want to play this again..
Wow I thought it was my PC back in the day that caused the crap frame rate. Still love this game though.
They still haven’t got this on Steam or GOG..
"Here's your java sir" on a Carrier in the 1940's :^) OK.
Connery, Grant...
Why is there so much lag during the dogfight? I thought a decent system could run this game with no slowdown?
+lurkerrekrul It's difficult to get the 3d Origin games to run smoothly in DosBox.
+tbr2109 That sucks. This was a game that I always wanted to play at some point.
lurkerrekrul Funny thing is these games ran more or less like you see in the video on the hardware of the day. Sometimes far worse. What we consider an acceptable framerate has changed quite a bit.
+tbr2109 I know exactly what you mean. I used to play F15 Strike Eagle on the C64, various flight simulators on the Amiga, etc.
However, I once saw this game running on a computer in a store (at least I think it was this game, there were corsairs flying in formation over water) and at the time I remember it looking perfectly smooth. Of course there really wasn't any action going on...
4:58 That was a precision bombing.
One hit and the Japanese carrier is history.
The Congressional Medal of Honor?! Isn't that a bit much for successful bombing strike?
Guess the U.S Navy was in desperate need of heroes. 😅
Ain't it ironic the Japanese are insulting the Americans on the radio by calling them "Yankee imperialists" ? :P Japan was a empire after all
Boy these games look like boiled rat shit now
“IL-2” puts this behind the dust.
