    PHIL! Everytime I see him I miss him and it's mostly, because I'm still such a big fan of News Radio. I watched it for the first time almost 14 years after it first aired, but I immediately fell in love with each of the characters. Binge-watched it until that one season where he disappeared and after a quick research of why I was devastated. I can't keep myself to like everything I see [or hear] him in, because he was brilliant at it all.

    I lived with my parents until I was 27 and moved to go to medical school. Then when I returned after my residency was done, I was 35. It didn’t make sense to rent an apartment since I was getting married in a few months so I moved back with my parents for another six months. My dads rule was always “as long as you are going to school, you can stay here for free.” I guess I took full advantage of that! But since moving out, I have always helped my parents to this day when ever they need anything. No matter financial or moving a couch.

    I love today's cast so this is not diss, but more an observation of how the process must have changed since this era. Today the cast is quite conspicuously reading from cue cards, in the '80s and '90s that was far from the case. This particular cast/era, especially, both writers and actors, approached these not so much as skits but as dramatic/comedic vignettes. They clearly took the time to memorize the lines and rehearse.

    • @wiskyr6510
      @wiskyr6510 Рік тому +3

      I saw almost everyone in this clip, mainly those with major speaking parts, looking quite often at the Cue cards. Especially Chris Rock. I mean for the modern era cast members like Beck, Cecily, Kate, Kenan probably aren't looking at the cards much more than the cast members from the decades you've mentioned.

    This skit is hilarious, especially DeVeto. Some people have jobs that don't pay much, and there are many who are the 'working homeless'. Rent and utilities are not cheap even in small, rural towns. Covid has caused many lay-offs, too. Hell, think of The Waltons...dynamite wouldn't have blasted those kids from that house at any age, and during most of the WW2 eps they were out of school, except Elizabeth. As soon as the boys came back from the war, they hurried to that house to stay. The oldest girl and her son lived there. After Erin divorced her husband, she, too, returned to live with her parents.

      @MissX W not sure what you're on about. I was out working my butt off and living in a basement mother in law apartment I rented from a friends dad. And i was doing this AT 15! Granted, I was just shy of 16 by 2 months, but point still stands. I never went back to my mom's. Hell even if i wanted to, i couldnt, since she lost her house and had to live in her car. 20 years later and she's in her car again/still. She moved in with me at one of the places I lived for 3 or 4 years. But I had to move a ways away and she didnt want to go. So she moved in with my brother for another 5 years. But she ended up needing to help me junkie sister who lost her 2 kids to the state. (2 toddlers I cared for and adopted them. And that was on top of my own toddler and newborn.) So my mum is back in her car, and has been for a number of years, now. I would have her live with me, but my house is way too small, with only 2 bedrooms and a family of 2 adults and 6 kids. Yeah, not much room.
      And yes, I have been homeless.
      Okay, so at what point did you decide I had said ANYTHING about parents being forced into caring for their kids? Or how you worded it, PARENTS DON'T HAVE TO LET YOOU LIVE THERE FOR FINANCES. And who abezee the hell even mentioned cooking at all?! Or suggest o dont cook my own fucking food? What crawled into your head and filled it with so much bullshit? Is the "Us" I supposedly make sick (based off of fictious assumptions.) Simply your delusions and your self? Or maybe whatever parasite critter crapped out such utter nonsense into your rage filled brain.
      Observation and empathy does not automatically mean the person is one of those that they are referring to.
      But please, do preach on, oh sickened one. You certainly dont look like an ass hole or anything. Oh! I would also really, truly enjoy hearing how you plan to "make all *their* parents change the locks and kick *you* all out." (See when using pronouns in sentences it helps a great deal to use similes. Similes are different words that mean basically the same thing. But when using the words, "their" and "you" they sinplydgon't work. Those 2 words are NOT interchangeable. They are NOT Similes. It makes no sense. At best, a reader may assume that the tqqqqqqqqqaql
      all switched parents houses or some stupid shit. Oh, one more little thing; 'Yelling' whatever random idea that manages to crrawls into your sad, sputtering brain, doesn't make it a fact. So you can go choke on your 'left at age 17,' bullshit.'
      With your logic skills, and level of intelligence, it's no wonder your life was and likely still is, complete garbage. Vile, loathing, and pathetic. Or sonit sounds based off what you said. It does partly explains your hostility and misdirected anger.
      If I wasn't so tired and have so much more to do today, I might actually feel bad about schooling your ignorant ass. But I just don't. Not today. I've had enough of you ignorant little fks. Go pizz off into the smelly alley you awoke from. Maybe if you finish the rest of that half pizzliquor, you'll pass belligerent ignoranceand just black out and pass out. Probably the only thing to look forward to today. Or at any other point in your future. So may as well take advantage while u can.

      Thanks for the laugh anyway. Hope you don't get too light headed and pass out up there. That's one hell of a fall from up there on your mountain of a soap box and being as full of yourself as you are, the splatter would be rather epic. And nasty.

    Back in the 90s. I was struggling. Work was feast or famine. I made the choice then, I found the best ghetto I could find. & bought a cheap place. 35Gs Its paid for now & I somehow didnt end up out on the streets or back @ moms. When things got bad. In 07 &08. When most of the people I knew where heading back to there parents or on the streets. Make good choices. Even when some think your crazy.
    I know all my circle did when I went to the ghetto.
