If I purchased a car with an m1 but my tuner isn't around anymore. Can I connect my laptop to the ECU and update the preexisting map stored on the ECU to update let's say the transmission gear ratio that is wrong after a transmission swap? I don't have access to the original tune file only the ECU. I don't want to entirely retune the car.
@@meatspin17779 Some factory ECU's do everything they need to do perfectly and can be fully tuned. Why spread bullshit. Else the M series is a great solution.
There are actually a lot of wrong notions in the narration like "laptop or your pc" a laptop is a pc. The other one is called desktop pc. Just say PC for both. Then the definition of network, the ECUs are connected the an local Ethernet network and not "where the Internet goes through". Then the green pages/things are called tabs. Etc,.. If you are trying to help people to understand how it works, you should actually first know what you are working with, if not... It's just confusing. Anyway, thanks for the sneak peak of the software.
+Benjamin Knight Clearly, you understood exactly what he was saying and were not at all confused. What you were probably experiencing was frustration due to some kind of inadequacy complex which invoked you to nitpick a good presentation. This, i am sure, gave you a small, yet short lived boost to your ego. I wish you all the best and hope you find a way to work through your problems.
you're being ridiculous. Know your audience. He calls it an ethernet connection. He's talking to people who may not know what that is so he also refers to it as the place the internet goes. That's just making sure your audience isn't confused.
Love M1 tune .....
Top notch Sir, much obliged for the lecture.

yes you can
should i have motec ecu to tune it or i could tune the factory ecu?
you should have it first before you tune it bro. (M1 Tune for MoTeC only)
Only cheap fucks try to tune factory ECU, which is getting harder and harder with each new generation.
