Giga coasters are all the rage but nothing will ever come close to The Beast!! The smell of the grease on the track to the chains clicking up the hill.. What an absolute perfect roller coaster. I have probably ridden it 500 times in my life and each time was better than the last. My dad tricked me into getting in it when I was just tall enough to ride it. He said it was the Beast-ie.. which was the little kids version back in the 80’s. He told me they hadn’t finished painting the IE on the end.. I was so scared but loved it so much. Lost my old man 5 years ago and anytime I think of that coaster I think of him with the best memories ever. Miss you Dad!! But we all gotta keep riding!!
That's a great story, I rode it for the first time today and I hope they keep it running for as long as they can, because it may have been rough but I can understand why people came to Ohio just for this coaster in the 80s
WOW, just rode this thing for the first time today and got a night ride. All I can say is just wow. This roller coaster is great in a different way than all other coasters. I haven’t been legitimately scared on a roller coaster since I was 10. When I rode this thing in the dark I was fearing for my life and constantly bracing for impact, never knowing when the next turn full of insane laterals would take place. It really can’t be compared to any other coaster in this day an age and I really recommend a night ride. I don’t even know how this stacks up against all the other coasters in the park and even the coasters I’ve ridden. This truly is a once in a lifetime experience.
It is such a unique experience among roller coasters because of how it is built with the hills and goes through the woods - and oh yes, the nighttime ride can’t be beat!
Just bought my tickets and fast passes for the end of this month. I’ll be driving up from Florida, and cannot wait. I haven’t been to kings island for 11 years.
I rode the beast as a kid. It was the legend in the 80's. Very fast and the double helix at the end is a blast. I spent the entire day in line to keep going back on it. You'll enjoy it.
@@jamesh.7342 obviously there's wilder and faster stuff these days but it's still a great ride. The Beast was designed and built in the 70's by the park. It was the longest and fastest in the day. I haven't been there since I was a kid, but I remember it. I spent all day going back through the line to ride it again. I didn't care about the rest of the park. It was fun and the double helix at the end is great. You just hang on tight as you go through that hard double loop. Despite my age, aches and pains, if I ever get back up to Ohio I'd love to ride it again.
This made me cry. I miss Kings Island so much. Lived in Miamisburg and my grandparents in Monroe and we always used to go to Kings Island every summer multiple times. This brings back so much nostalgia of a time I can never return to with people who are no longer around. I wish to return one day to this park and ride this masterpiece once again.
I’ve been on many coasters. This my favorite of all time due to you can’t see much of the park, in the woods, tunnels and being freaking awesome. Try at night or in light rain.
Its rough as hell and you go deaf in the tunnels from the screeching of the wheels and people screaming, it shakes the hell out of you and i almost broke my nose on it when i was little
I rode this ride my first ever time at kings Island this past Saturday!!!! I freaking loved THE BEAST and I see why everyone loves this roller coaster!!!🙂😎 It did not disappoint!
I love the scenery! It's like you're teleported to a different world for a minute, forgetting any stress and problems you have for a brief moment of time.
This coaster is superrr fun but omg the rattling on this ride is UNREAL how this video showed it off to be smooth looking is amazing because I went on fine I came off with the worst headache imaginable 😂
I rode this back in June this year. Great coaster but I beat me up. It’s crazy rough. I have never ridden a coaster as rough as this. It was not horrible it didn’t ruin my day but it did leave me in pain for 10 mins after the ride lol
That's the thing - The Beast isn't really a thrill coaster by today's standards. Its only really intense moment is the big helix during the second half of the ride, the rest of it can almost be compared to a mine train. What The Beast is, however, is a playful and scenic romp through the woods. It's not trying to toss you out of your seat with huge airtime or blow your mind with constant intensity, it's taking you on a wild tour of the most untamed part of the park.
I hope this beast of a ride is still around when I get to finally go to King's Island. I doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon but I also dont know how long it will be till I get to go.
It’s crazier when you ride it. It feels like it is exponentially gaining speed, and that you are going to be decapitated by the tunnel entrance on the left. I’ve never heard of incidents, but you are literally right next to the tunnel, so I bet somebody could touch it. Once you are in the tunnel, it literally feel like you are in the fastest, actively derailing coaster in the world.
Me: what ride do you want to go on sweetie Her: I don’t know, I think I want to go on a roller coaster? Me: then let’s go on the beast. Her: fine, as long as I don’t pee my pants when we go over that first hill. Me: you’re going to be fine. Just don’t drink anything before hand. Her: uuuuummm????… Me: forgets that we went to her favorite coffee shop before hand and we’re at the top of the hill.😨 Her: Teehee😊
They can build all the hyper coasters they want. NOTHING ON EARTH compares to a ride on the beast. For optimal riding, wait until a light rain has slicked up the track a bit. You FLY down those hills. The force of hitting those circles is not comparable to anything else I’ve ever experienced. Except for Son of beast which was the worst ride I’ve ever ridden.
From the top of the lift hill of The Beast to the lowest part of the track is a 201 foot height difference. So, in a way, The Beast was like an early attempt at a hyper coaster... definitely sheer insanity for something from 1979!
I had the absolute pleasure of riding this ride at night with a light fog. It had rained earlier in the day. Me and my buddies were lucky enough that after the rain had stopped a fog started to roll in. By time the nightride had come, the whole park had been covered in a layer of that fog. That is a ride I will never forget. By far the best rollercoaster experience I have ever had, and most likely will ever have. Sure, there are taller coaster. There are faster coasters. There are overall better coasters. But this ride? This ride is nocturnal. Once that sun goes down nothing even comes close
This is obviously a very well built coaster. I'd like to know if they are able to increase the height of the first lift hill? It would add a whole new experience if it was raised 75 feet...
I’m watching it bc I’m going tonight for an 8 hour drive, going to the park as it opens and closes, and going to cedar point after and coming back home so that’s gonna be fun😀
If you’re talking crap and haven’t rode it yet your mind will be blown with fear when you finally go down. You’ll duck feeling like you’re about to be beheaded by the wood and it’s FAST. The videos are never the same as the coasters
