Male Seshie here. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and there is a gay friendly bar called 926 that put out a flyer on Facebook detailing where LGBT+ people can seek help, community, and safety during these troubling times. As I'm sure y'all know, Florida has been a hotbed for all the Republican fear mongering about LGBT+ people and our governor even bragged about paying the legal fees of the guy that murdered a disabled man on the subway in New York City. As an autistic black guy, that scared the shit out of me. I also work as a janitor here at Florida State University (FSU), and I remember the day after election night hearing a woman sob in here dorm room on the hallway that I was cleaning. I wanted to ask if everything was ok, but something in me knew what she was crying about. I think a lot of marginalized groups are trying to build communities with themselves, others, and allies. I believe that they are trying to prepare to survive whatever ending that is to come from all of this. What I mean is that America is dying, as well as Capitalism, and the Western World order in general. The US spent nearly a trillion dollars on its military this fiscal year. When you have income inequality, a terrible homeless crisis, lack of affordable housing, and people who can't afford healthcare, that leads to massive political and social instability. We all know where that leads to. America cannot survive this, no matter what we think otherwise. We are going to have to survive, organize, fight back, and persevere through these times, and I can't guarantee that we will all make it in the end. Stay safe and be hyper vigilant.
You're right Janelle, they want us all to give up but we need to stand together and im so glad the sesh girlies always stand up for marginalised people ❤
I find myself being gaslit of my feelings and emotions from my family who voted for him. I am not one to comment on yt videos but I don’t know where to find community. I canceled a family trip this weekend because the weight of last week still lingers and I am not sure if it will ever go away throughout these four years. I am tired. I am tired of being called selfish and too sensitive “distant” for my values. I have all this rage but I have to just lock myself away because I really can’t be around my own family.. In fact, I feel like I lost my family.
I understand what you are going through and share the same pain. I thought I had already commented for a second reading it. It’s so hard hearing everyone bringing up community without sharing where and how to find that. I’ve been grieving and afraid in silence because of my gloating family as well. It’s funny how calling US the selfish ones is their go to. I truly hope the best because you’re not alone, and your comment helped me see that (Being locked up/stuck alone to deal).
I just wanted to say that I completely understand how you feel. As someone who’s family is white and mostly from small towns they have the stereotypical mindset that I can’t get past, especially as someone who is marrying a Native American man from a marginalized community. I am dreading any interactions with my family over the next months if not years and am not planning to invite most of them to my wedding next year because it feels wrong to dismiss their mindsets and pretend like they’re values aren’t wrong.
As someone with a degree in environmental studies who works at a non-profit to protect water in the Great Lakes region, everyone I work with is horrified about the climate crisis, goals that will not be met now, new head of the EPA, EPA rollbacks, and where funding for conservation efforts will come from. Community is so important. Now more than ever poeple need to educate themselves on climate / natural resource issues, this affects the globe
I hope one day we can have a strong woman hold office and represent all the change we need in the U.S. I completely agree with Kendall, we need change but the neither Party is listening to us. As a republican I hope everyone can respect each other over the next 4 years. We all need to be strong and pay attention to who we elect in our state offices that directly affect us. Peace and love to all my true crime fam !
Thank you Janelle... I'm really worried as a female and disabled person. I may have both all my rights taken away as well as my Medicaid etc. I cannot work so I NEED that stuff. I really hope I'm worried for nothing
Thank you for speaking out and showing us you are being impacted by the election. As someone who lives in Utah and has relatives not as passionate about this, I have felt so lonely and isolated. It’s nice to hear that other woman and people are struggling with me. Thank you💗
Thank you so much, Kendall. I have been going through all the emotions in the past week; shock, disappointment, sadness, feeling scared, and right now feeling flat out angry. Your video made me feel like I’m not alone in these feelings. I appreciate it more than you know❤.
Thank you for your guys words today. My husband who typically leans conservative voted for Harris this year because we want to start a family in two years and the state we are moving to has a 6 week ban. He has since been advocating for how bad this election turnout can be to women’s rights and healthcare and people literally question his “masculinity” if he talks about it and it makes me sick. I will never stop advocating for women’s rights and the rights of all our other citizens that can be impacted these next four years.

Thank you guys for saying something about this. I experienced the worst homophobia and racism I ever had before during trumps presidency. I was completely out of commission election week and still feel like I am to an extent. It’s just sad to me that so many people were okay with that happening again as long as it meant they’d “win” or have their taxes taken care of.
Thank you so much you all for your words on the election. I live in the Netherlands and it broke my heart, so sad for you all. I struggle with anger because it shows something about the world that is so ugly I can hardly look at it. Let’s keep fighting for what is right in the world no matter what. ❤
Thank you so much for being so honest and not skirting over how painful this election was for so many people. To everyone in the comments expressing relief over the election results and sharing their anxiety about a potential Harris/Waltz victory-I’m genuinely curious, especially for those who are devastated by the outcome and worried about the negative plans set to be implemented after January-what exactly were your concerns? What specific policies or changes were you afraid of if Harris and Waltz had won?
We're not going to vote for someone who calls us racist and misogynistic, they're not winning people to their side with that attitude. Even now instead of admitting they didn't run a good campaign they just blame it on the country being racist or misogynistic. They don't try to think what might be important to us. They don't try to see things from our point of view.
They don't have legitimate concerns. They just wanted to wear their hate, loud and proud. Some are hiding it behind concerns for the economy or immigration but they screwed themselves over by voting for him. They just don't see it yet. We ALL lost when he won.
Personally I was worried about The continued very steady decline of our economy, the safety of our American citizens with the completely open and welcoming undocumented aliens (I'm not including the ones that do it legally) border because of sex trafficking and cases such as the Laken Riley case. And I was worried the potential of war with other countries with her as our president. I am all for a woman president I just don't believe she was it I personally did not like her because of the many lies and misleading statements she has made and as a mn resident I really can't back Walz

One thing my therapist told me this week- VOTE in LOCAL elections! I’ve sadly never really paid attention to local government, from state governer to local twp hall representatives. After last weeks results, I 100% plan to be involved in all my local government elections. I also can’t wrap my mind around how it’s ok to be a convicted felon & that (can’t say the r word on UA-cam) and be elected PRESIDENT. Would these people want their pastor or school representatives to be a convicted those as well? I don’t think so.
I agree with you on the democratic party. They need a message and need to unite as a whole. I am proud to say Arizona has 2 senators that actually care and they will fight for all people.

I am tired of being called selfish and too sensitive “distant” for my values. I have all this rage but I have to just lock myself away because I really can’t be around my own family.. In fact, I feel like I lost my family.
That’s very painful to deal with. Proud of you for protecting your own mental health and cancelling that trip. Not easy. Sending hugs
I am afraid to see some people at upcoming holidays for similar reasons. You are not alone. Wishing you continued strength!
@@daniellemcvay8058 it’s nice and at the same time not so nice to know that I am not alone. Wishing you well. Stay strong.
Kendall, I really needed that hug.
Thank you for being such a beautiful mother- sister- aunt- cousin- friend to all of us for the longest. ✊🏻💙
Love you guys so much. My daughter will be 1 this month and I’m scared for her future. Thank y’all for talking about this. 💕
I appreciate it more than you know❤.
thank you girls for being a light and loving presence in this f’d up world
Kendall getting choked up made me tear up at the gym 😭 I’ve been waiting for yalls response

@lexi24425 Sorry, I thought you meant you were afraid of being deported. You're the one who said I'm a Mexican woman afraid. If you were referring to roe v wade, why was it relevant to point out your ethnicity ? I am a pro choice republican BTW. I also don't care what race or ethnicity you are if you're here legally, it's all good to me! Welcome!
Hearing Kendall almost cry when she talked to us 😭 I love you Sesh girlies
Sending you all so much love. I'm in the UK but was devastated by the election news, I feel so scared for everyone in America who didn't want this outcome. Like Janelle though, I found comfort in the knowledge that being a human has always been hard. Bad people have most always been in charge throughout history BUT community, compassion, love and equality have found ways to survive and thrive. We can hold each other, we can look after each other - know your friends across the pond are feeling for you💜
I’m gay and my finance is an immigrant that has been here since she was 1 years old. Extremely scared of America’s future . Thank you Janelle !
Listening to this while working trying not to sob.. thank you for your kind words ❤️ please keep the content coming.. we need you all more than ever
Thank you for being our safe space.
I used to love this podcast but now I feel like it’s all politics and celebrity drama I miss the old sesh where I could turn on an episode and laugh for an hour and not think about all the crazy stuff happening in the world now I feel like I don’t have an outlet anymore 🥺🤦🏼♀️
Agreed
I relate totally.
Thank you guys for the message.. didn’t know how much I needed to hear that. As a Canadian, I cannot fathom how you all are feeling. We are feeling it here with you, and we send our love. 🤍
Had a big cry at y'alls response to the election, it's so scary. My 2 little sisters are married to Americans (we're Canadian) and I have 2 baby nieces who will grow up in the wake of what's to come. My sister's and nieces have duel citizenship, live close to the border and 2 hrs away from our parents, but I feel for all of you who don't have the luxury of leaving if things get really bad. My heart goes out to you all🤍
i’ve been waiting for you all to cover this, i’m going in blind
Thank you guys for saying something about this. I experienced the worst homophobia and racism I ever had before during trumps presidency. I was completely out of commission election week and still feel like I am to an extent. It’s just sad to me that so many people were okay with that happening again as long as it meant they’d “win” or have their taxes taken care of.
Thank you Kendall and Janelle for the comforting words. I’m in Missouri 🥴🥴 and just trying to stay positive 💙
So many public figures seem afraid to clarify their feelings to lose views or whatever, and its so refreshing and genuine to hear your true feelings and know that my favorite podcasters care about the very important issues I care about. That makes a bigger difference than you know. Sending love.
Sobbing hearing Janelle talk thanks for echoing what I’ve been feeling hugs to the crew you and Kendall
I’ve watched Kendall’s content for over 10 years now. From the uk. And Kendall’s message was fantastic, thoughtful and kind. My heart is breaking for you all. If any of you ever need health care (and can’t access it) my door is open for you to come and stay with me and I’ll help you get the medical care you need in my country. ❤ sending love and light
I really been defeated over this election and depressed
Hugs❤❤. You are powerful. We need to all remember. They can’t take our joy. We don’t need to backdown
Ok… Kendall breaking down just broke me 😭😭 Big HUGS 🤗
thank you so much for the intro 😢
i love yall so much and i’m so grateful we have this safe space.❤ you girls are so wonderful.
thank you for being there ❤
I always look forward to your episodes & I was especially looking forward to this episode. I knew it would be what I needed. Love you ladies! Thank you
Thanks for speaking so vulnerably about the election results. I'm sad and scared. We're in this together 💙
All together now “Tyler Childers is a better artist and human”
Janelle your message was so sweet ❤️ so was Kendalls. ❤ thank you. As a woman it feels like we are just tossed aside sometimes. I can only imagine how other people feel and for that just know you have support and we see you
5:24 very eloquently said. Thank you, Janelle
I would have been interested in seeing the answers to this.
Well i tried to post my concerns but my comment was deleted this doesnt feel like a very safe space@@stephaniejane_
Thank you Sesh for your comforting words. I really needed to hear.

i really appreciate Janelle saying those kind words; so many people are feeling isolated with the election results and hearing kind and encouraging things from people they follow can help save lives. thank you all for everything you do🖤
Really disappointing to see all the comments “I’m so happy about the election results! 😍” after the episode intro is about how devastating this news is and the reasons why. Like Kendall said, you might not understand the pain behind the election results, but it’s disgusting to see all the gloating comments here.
Like they wouldn’t be gloating if she won? It’s giving “only my feelings matter yours don’t”🤮
@@kaylafrances2900 yup.
@@kaylafrances2900 they’d be calling election fraud again 🙄
I don’t understand why these people constantly feel the need to infiltrate our spaces. They simply can’t accept that they’re not welcome everywhere. This podcast has always made its political views known.
I didn't see anyone gloating.. people have different opinions and worldviews.. that's how the world is, not everything is a personal attack.
I love the sesh and the whole mile higher media. I've watched every single one of Mile Highers channel/podcasts since day one.. This one was hard for me, though.. I really really think that you guys need to start leaving politics out of things. I'm not even a full 10 minutes in before I had to just give up and stop, and I will not go back to watch this one.
Thanks so much guys. Both for addressing the major things we are all going through and letting us know we aren't alone. Thank you for being there for us too.
Also great another talented man who is still a peice of.... you know... sad how relatable her story is. And the fear you feel about speaking out!
Kendall 💜 you do help people feel a little better by being here by holding your values and speaking about it and creating a safe space
Feeling so sad for bri and myself and any other woman who has experienced this. Also feeling so proud and empowered by Bri being so outspoken. What a true baller!!!
😢 Thank you Kendall. Thank you Janelle. I really needed to hear this today. I have no support over this so I couldn’t stop crying through your comforting words, knowing I’m not alone in this. I love the sesh💙

The DNC is way out of touch, as has been since Bernie.
As a Brit, I really feel for you guys. There are so many across the pond who can’t understand how the majority or your fellow Americans could possibly vote for that evil convict. The only positive I can think of is that he can’t get into power for a third term. Stay strong, sending all my love and pray he won’t be as bad as we all fear xx

i’ve been really lonely lately so thanks for your podcast for helping me feel the illusion of hanging out with friends
This intro made me cry. Thank you. I needed to hear this.
I’m not trying to be rude and can’t say this for everyone but I wouldn’t have a problem voting for a black woman but she wasn’t qualified at all in my eyes. She couldn’t answer any questions with an answer that I needed to feel confident. I’m sorry that you are feeling this way and I’m sending all the love, there is no reason for the amount of hate people are getting for there opinions!
but a failed actor and "business man" who filed bankruptcy hella times is?
The right plans to strip women, LGBTQ+, disabled folks of their rights, healthcare, and more. My state is already planning to delete the department of education upon trumps takeover OR shove religion down the throats of students, as well as horrendous bills targeting non republicans. So please, save your "I'm sending love!" to someone who actually wants it.

Thank you for speaking on the election.

Im really glad you guys said something. It’s been a really hard week and I haven’t felt like pretending to be okay and the only thing lately that’s been helping me is by trying to express all my negative feelings through my art. It’s hard to stay hopeful but hearing you guys talk about the state of America has reminded me that I’m not alone
My heart is with you and your friends and family. Love and strength from Canada.
Ugh, election week was rough but I scheduled my tubal removal and am ready to get involved and start fighting for our rights, I thought I was on the other side of grief and just angry but this brought all the heartbreak back and I started crying in my cubical. It all feels so fked.. I really appreciate you guys speaking on it and love this community 💙
