- Hey y'all, Crossed Anchors here! Got an exciting video for you, I'm super excited to share this with y'all! We got permission to do a full walk through of Dale's Train Station. The owner let us have some AMAZING access and boy did we have some fun. We went with the hopes of walking through and making a video but as all train enthusiast know. you cant go to the train store with out finding something you like. So of course, we recorded and found TONS of things we wanted for our Layout. We made some sweet purchases and plan on doing Reviews and adding them to the layout, and running some new trains. I have been there two years ago during a vacation trip and I was amaze by their friendly service.
Absolutely love this store… there customer service is top notch.. a great bunch of people in there just doing their best to keep this hobby alive and train enthusiasts happy!

I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Dale introduced me to the model train hobby in the very early 90s back when his store was on Va Beach Blvd. I couldn’t have been more than 6 years old, I’m truly sorry to hear about his passing.
Dale was an amazing man. His wife Gloria is keeping it going and we help as much as we can. Are you still in the area, if so hope to see you at the train show or Dale’s on Saturday Jan 15th.
@@CrossedAnchorsRailroads I’ve since relocated to Atlanta, but stop by Dale’s every time I’m back home. I hope everyone does their best to keep Dale’s legacy alive. I wish they had an online store.
We do hope that they get one as well.. only time will tell

Crossed Anchors Railroads it has been since the early 2000s that I have been there. Only get back east once in awhile.

I did! If you saw the end, it was definitely lighter, Yeah online is'nt quite there yet but i'm sure eventually it will be. I know i'm encouraging it.

Sadly not long after this was recorded dale passed away but his wife is keeping the shop Open
Dale’s passing has been diff hot in a tough year. Gloria has been amazing solidering on with her family to carry on his legacy. It’s an inspiration to us and thank her for our friendship.

How do you order items?
I need to check this place out. I'm with the National Capitol Trackers in the D.C. area. I got most of my stuff from Toy Trains & Collectibles in Manassas, Virginia and Eastside Trains in Seattle. But I have been to Norfolk multiple times and I had no idea. I will make a pilgrimage there his summer.

The problem is thomas has poisoned my mind and I seem to prefer british steam engines over the us models
Hey everyone likes something a bit different, no problem with that… Dale’s sometimes gets British stream engines in but I’m not sure if they have any right now..
Nice Train store, only one left. Great store to visit if Lionel is what you’re into. Small selection of N and moderate selection of HO, tons of Lionel, some Older S, and some LGB…. Personally, I don’t find the prices competitive compared to others with online shopping.
You blew right by G scale stuff to look at the buddy L stuff I am having a heck of a time trying to find G scale engines.

Finally made it to Dales! What a fantastic place. Feels like a cross between a museum and a hobby shop.

I knew Dale for over 25 years, met him when he opened his first store in 1987 I think. Was so saddened to learn of his death. Bought many thinks from his store!

I live 20 minutes from this store, I absolutely love it, I’m 21 now and I was about 10 the first time my mom took me, I still have a Lionel standard gauge cattle car that dale gave me then, he was such a nice guy I’m glad to see the store is still going strong after his passing. I was just by about a month ago and aside from being a little more organized it’s just the way it was
Yes Gloria has put in a lot of work to keep it going and growing. We love her and her store immensely. Dale’s Train Station is our home for trains and great company. Can’t recommend it enough

I live 15mins from Richmond right below it, I never even heard of this place! I got to go check them out! That guy that said theres no more train stores out here is right, the last one shut down in beginning of 2018 and he had some decent prices on used engines and other things, it was a small store but he couldn't keep it going I guess, I wish I remembered his name or something, he was a really great guy and knew alot about all the brands, the place in Ashland is called Tiny Tim's trains and they are very expensive and overpriced! That's the last train store around here, back in 2016 there was a guy at the Bazzar in Chesterfield and he had a whole room of trains and they were really good prices, I came back to look at his stuff a couple months later and he ended up moving out of there, I asked the people if the knew where he went too, and they told me he went back to his town in Crewe Va and that he still sold trains I never attempted to look though, Walts Hobby shop in Petersburg is still there but he doesnt sell trains anymore from what I hear! It's sad to see it's a dying breed!
