      he said that you can connect tubes by connecting a tube lower end to other tube upper end, sl you do that but you cut the part until the normal tube and dont forget the glue, and do the same to the other side with the upper end in its lower end with some glue(again) and cut until size of one tube, dint test it idk if it solves

    Thanks a lot for this, this saves a lot of work. These could also be nice for using as long paper matches, such as for lighting a stove.
    Kraft paper has a grain. If you take 2 squares and put them on top of each other, with the grains crossing, and then roll them 2 ply thick in your way, you are creating a tube with the triplex wood effect of cris-crossing grains resulting in a tube that is structurally strong in all directions.

  • @krisCrashTV

    Huhh, I've had trouble getting my tubes consistent and nice, will definitely try it your way. I've found a long piece of wire that I thought would help, but maybe it's also useful that you're actually rolling OFF the pin, so the tube isn't force to increase in size from it. Idk. Will try.

    • @creativeideas4211
      @creativeideas4211 8 років тому +7

      If you are new to this then it is natural to have uneven and different sized tubes. It is perfectly OK and will get better as you make more tubes. Also, the tubes are slightly wider at one end. It is required this way so that they can be inserted into each other for joining them. And even if your tubes are uneven, I am sure your baskets will still look amazing. If you think your tube is fat don't unroll and roll again. Just let it be and make the next tube. If you try to judge every tube and unroll if it does not look good to you it will make you frustrated in a short time. On the other hand if you roll your tubes irrespective of whether it is correct or not, you will discover that an amazingly large no of tubes will be good. Also, it takes more time to unroll and roll a tube than it takes to make a new one. For better results you can sort your tubes in piles based on thickness and then use tubes of same thickness for one article or just discard some tubes if they are of very different size. Good Luck 😊😊

      Hi! Thanks! I got the hang of it in the end :) The wire piece is good to roll on and so are knitting pins, but I even saw someone use a simple SPAGHETTI! I can't believe I looked so hard for something special to roll with, and you can use that.

      Here I have used knitting needles to roll the tubes. They are available in different sizes, so you can use as small or as big as you like. You can try with different sized needles to see what works best for you. I myself use different sized needles for my various projects. For really thick tubes one can even use a pen or a pencil to roll.
      Alternatively, you can use any thin stick like those from a broomstick or skewers ( wooden or metallic). You can even use toothpicks but some people find it difficult to roll using toothpicks due to their small size. Also a pen refill can be used. And if the back of your brush is proper cylinder, it can be used as well. Basically anything round and of required size can be used. If you don't have anything then you can roll paper on its own also. It just takes a little practice. Hold the paper from one end with damp fingers and slowly roll to form a tube.
      Any further queries are appreciated :) :)

    • @creativeideas4211
      @creativeideas4211 8 років тому +1

      Essentially any kind of paint/color can be used. In the coloring video I have used ink that is used to refill printer cartridges. They come in bottles of CMY(Cyan,Magenta,Yellow) colors which can be mixed in different proportions to make any color. The amount of water mixed depends on how light or dark color you want.
      You may use poster colors, water colors, acrylic colors or any other type of color you have. Add water to make a liquid consistency. Try on a few tubes and adjust the ratio accordingly. If you use poster colors or water colors, you can add a very small amount of white glue to make the color permanent.
