for those who dont understand, the meter works for how open the lane is when you start the dunk, it works best if someone is on your hip or is very late to a paint contest, if you start your dunk with a heavy traffic paint and the paint clears before you dunk, your meter still is small, if you often have a small meter its because you take bad dunks
Nahh bro the game inconsistent even good open dunk attempts get small green windows sometimes i have hella proof
The dunk meter should work similar to layups. Because if somebody leaves the paint my dunk meter should get bigger, not stay the same
@@PRIMEPODCASTENT stamina is a effect on this and so is your take off point, trust me on this, if you have a clear wide open lane your meter is the same each time, if someones on your hip the meter goes by the animation you get. ive even had open lanes with big meters get changed to a contact with a big meter because the defender caught to my hip before i left the ground
@@rememberin0 i entirely agree with you on this, layup contests are based off where the defender is and their hands relevant to where you release on a layup (ex if defender is on the left of you but hands are straight up and you take a right hand lay its an open, but if they have their hand close to yours theres a contest) with a dunk, it goes by where defenders are from your start and take off point and contests at the rim are accounted for in the miss, ive missed green dunks this year due to a jump contest at the rim with a small meter but youll never miss a green layup for that same reason
@@unforgettable8160I got clips of me missing green dunks then being told bad shot selection and even small meter ones on fast breaks with no one on me. It’s just inconsistent and a terrible feature for driving dunks that 2K just doesn’t care about

Did you feel a difference jumping from Silver to Gold?
That's because you are trying to jump over a defender, those should have tiny green windows. You need to have the defender on your hip to get really great contact dunks. Or you need to take off when a defender is in a bad spot to defend the dunk. I have only slashing builds, I know what I'm talking about. Takes a minute to learn the game mechanics and animations.

the point is does 93 driving do the same like 98 driving dunk becaus they both have gold !? My own test shows 97 driving dunk is way more effective than 93.

The standing meter is amazing for my 6’11 sf wit gold posterizer and gold precision. But not so for the driving

Also note that contact dunk animations start at 87 but the silver badge level is 86. Quite dumb imo

@@ianperkinson they say the off the 1 contact dunks aren’t that good, so if you wanna go high I’d probably suggest whatever the off the 2 requirements are
They said the tool lets you select the best shot base for you build but the bases they recommend are not available to your my player.. So what's the point? Your tools are 💩

Cap, I have a 99 driving dunk and most the time someone is sitting in the dead space right where that defender was the meter is super small. maybe they have a higher interior that 85 tho 🤔

U guys do too many "isolated" test without context which gives an inaccurate display of how effective badges can be.

I spent a week testing for the best allen iverson like build.
Ive got a 6"2 pg with 86 acceleration and silver posterizrr, gold limitless take off and hof quick step
Im dunking on everybody simply because i can beat them to the hoop even the camping rim protectors
Also has 72 strength
Acceleration and strength matter 100% for those that wanna dunk.
My mans mainly a playmaker perimeter shot creator
But im amazed how because of the momentum he gets he gets away with posterizing dunks
So... Plz test using context.. bages are never accurately assessed in isolation.
Havent made a pure dunker but when i do ill be def commiting to at least 92 strength and highest possible acceleration.

I’ve built bout 5 different centers, in my opinion it’s not useless its preference. With a 93 block and 77 interior(bronze post defense) I average 6-8 blocks a game. With my 92 block and 88 post defense I would get 4-6 blocks. It’s honestly just about positioning. I would say use the points elsewhere, if your 7’0. If your lower then might wanna have higher interior defense
77 interior defense and 92 block gives you gold anchor, 94 block classifies you as a rim protector

I personally have a 6’9 SF park like center build with silver anchor but gold chase downs and a 7’0ft C with the 88 & 92 combo for rec. Gets the job done with both very well

@@Burakbaba653 I would go 92 block 77 interior, if you position well and have strength you can still battle with the slashers a lot. Still I average 6 to 8 blocks a game with the 92 & 77 combo

No. Posterizer isn't for standing dunks at all, just driving dunks. Rise up badge is for standing dunks.
Can I posterize without contact dunk animation? I have the badge, but I don't see the point of it without contact dunk animation. I can't equip contact dunk animation because of lacking attributes but, I already have the badge.

I don’t run poster on any of my builds. I do dunks that are wide open. If not, I’m two step euro layup or floater all day. It’s a little more impressive cuz dudes hate when I do that cuz it’s a shocker

This studies you people are doing only counts for next gen. I play 2k24 in ps4 and that window for contact dunks is so small that time it is almost impossible. Having a 7' C with 89 contact dunks, 85 vert, silver poster., silver slither, lim.T OFF Gold, and still the window is like i have no contact dunk. So when is 2k going to do something about it?
What people have yet to understand in 2k24 with dunking is that the game was intentionally made in a way to prevent the ridiculous contact dunks of past 2ks. As exciting as you all think it is to contact dunk on someone, it’s a glitchy mechanic that was allowing bad players to score against good defenders simply through animation, stats and height. Dunking is meant to be for big men under the rim and faster players with an open lane or simply for style on a fast break or with a defense trailing behind you. You shouldn’t be able to just sprint at the rim and dunk on a 6’5+ defender just because “you have X badges and stats”. Layups take more skill and a lot more finesse and that’s why 2k24 rewards layups and off dribble mid ranges far more often than dunks. They’re trying to push players in to a more realistic and skill based style of play. My main SG build only has a 75 driving dunk but an 89 driving layup with a 70 close shot and I get at least 1 or 2 dunks off per Rec game but I have no problems finishing inside and I still have a 92 3 PT and 81 mid range (HOF middy magician) so I’m primarily a shooter but I can still get to the rim and with gold slithery badge, I can get dunks by simply getting to the rim before the block
They need to add defense 3 sec violation literally slashers are useless in online modes

can you test standing dunk and how driving dunks makes you trigger standing dunks more. For example I have a build with 92 standing dunk 55 driving dunk 80 vert 6'7 but my build with 73 standing dunk 90 driving dunk 75 vert 6'6 gets standing dunk posters on 7'3 bigs while my build with higher standing dunks barely even stand dunks wide open
