After watching all of concacaf play, I agree with Herculez, it could be an all CONMEBOL semi final. USA can’t play teams that overpower them like Germany & Netherlands, in this case, Uruguay, Colombia, & Brazil (since that’s who we’ll be facing). Mexico is just bad overall, if they get second place while Argentina gets first, it’s over. Canada has no defense, after seeing Chile destroy France’s defense idk how Canada will survive. Colombia & Brazil are too good for Costa Rica. I don’t think Panama will pass the group stages. Jamaica will choke against Mexico & maybe Ecuador.
@@jasonosorio2723well i hope he proves us wrong.... against CONCACAF teams he does well, especially with mexico, but against other teams outside CONCACAF he hasnt shown us he can improve this talented team against the bigger teams
I want to believe yall, but idk why yall keep choking on Mexico, they’re not even a good team. Seems like yall tend to try harder against the U.S.. Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, even you guys, just choke when you see Mexico. The U.S. & maybe Canada re the only ones who tends to put them in their place. You guys are a very interesting team though, I’ll be rooting for yall in this tournament as well!
I beg to differ! I guess you forgot that on March 26, 2023, Jamaica went into the Azeta and drew 2-2 with Mexico and the fans started working out. June 14, 2022, 1-1, and July 23, 2017, when Jamaica defeated Mexico 1-0 in the Gold Cup. So stop acting like Jamaica has never gotten any good results against Mexico before
Based on the USA's play, I don't have great expectations for them. I'm sorry, but they are not playing any cohesive ball. It's all jerky, half chances, and a lot of crossing.
True the way they pass and control the ball is still very concering and the way they give the ball away should be addressed immediately. Its very very bad they might get humiliated (hopefully not but likely) against top 4 commebol teams . Midfield needs so much work
Canada could eek out of their group if they stand up to Peru and Chile. It's possible. I think that's where Canada's talent might end. US is playing at home and looks sharp.... who knows. Mexico and Jamaica likely on the same path as Canada... could make it our of the group stage but that's probably as far as they get. Panama/Costa Rica.... I don't think they get out of group.
Does this underwhelming Belhalter led team has a chance to make the semis?? Let's be realistic here: The US lost to T&T, number 96 in the world, needed a 97 minute miracle own goal to beat a depleted Jamaica, beat the worst Mexico in a decade, and now they become world beaters, ready to take on Uruguay, Brazil or Colombia, three clearly superior teams??? I don't think so.
The US is only fractionally better than the other top 4 concacaf teams if they're playing really well when everyone else is playing poorly, otherwise it's pretty even but the US always has home field advantage and an unlimited number of generic mls backups. Might help in the Copa but the only way they even made that concacaf final was an own goal by half of Jamaica's b-team, Jamaica at full strength would've knocked the US out easily.
Are you still living in 2022 WC? there's not a single player on the A roster outside of Miles Robinson who is in MLS. What kind of a Joker are you? Go back to 1970 where you belong
The thing is, I’m not sure if you noticed, but Jamaica played VERY defensively, which the U.S. struggles to break down, which is the reason why defensive teams like El Salvador, Costa Rica, Jamaica, & Trinidad give us a hard time. Panama is not a defensive team, & idk about Bolivia, so I’m sure they’ll pass the group stages because after that it’s done. Because surprise surprise, the U.S. also isn’t a defensive team, but if you get out attacked by a better team, it’s over, aka Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil, which are teams we’re gonna play this summer, I’m curious to see that.
The objective fact of the matter is the US squad is loaded with currently in-form players getting major minutes for the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, PSV, Fulham, Crystal Palace. It's inarguably a talented roster, _easily_ the most talented in CONCACAF, and a talented roster is stupid to dismiss in the fashion that you are. It's obvious the US underperformed against Jamaica in the NL semi. And it won that match, regardless. Then promptly dominated a Mexico XI that won the Gold Cup last summer. Business as usual. The US's first-choice XI is plainly dominating CONCACAF, your characterization that it's "only fractionally better than the other top 4 concacaf teams if they're playing really well when everyone else is playing poorly" is unsupportable nonsense.
You deleted the part about how they win at home. Homefield advantage is a real factor in football, look at the UCL. The US has had consistent homefield advantage throughout this time period in every tournament. With only half of Jamaica's starters, and arguably their 5 best players out, the US couldn't draw without them scoring on themselves in the last, let's say, pretty generous seconds of 90 mins + extra time. Mexico played well below their level, they looked amateurish, they missed half their passes and generated no offense all game. This was surprising bc Mexico held their own with Germany while the US got completely dominated. The US also lost to Trinidad... TRINIDAD! Canada in complete turmoil, clearly out of form with a poor interim coach, beat them easily. The reality is that the US is the wealthiest country in the history of the world, has unlimited resources, triple the population of the next largest country, Mexico. 10x more than Canada, 100x more than Jamaica and 200x more than Trinidad. You should be dominating, but you aren't. You're eeking out wins, or getting wins by 1-2 hard fought or slightly flukey, or own goals against opponents who are out of form. That's why I say the US are fractionally better than their rivals in Concacaf, based on results in the past couple of years bc they have every advantage you can list. If the US, Mexico, Jamaica, Canada, and Panama are all at full strength, all in form with no clear advantages, it's not a guarantee that the US wins anything. @@CognizantCheddar
