One of the very best videos on team preparation I've ever seen.
    Thank you, Claude!

I have been in Formula Student project for four years. One of my senior colleagues recommended me this clip as the first one to watch. It was back in 2016 (I believe the original clip was posted back in 2012). The points Claude made were essentially things that we learned across multiple seasons. All the talking about shedding weight, making efficient aerodynamics (which I have never been rationally convinced to be important in FS competitions through data), implementing "technical innovations" are worth nothing unless you build a strong team, looking after the project and each other, experienced drivers and an efficient way to pass the knowledge and experience to next generations of team members. Avoid excessive weight shedding and looking for fractional performance gains, unless you have a top driver the difference will not be visible on track. Shedding a few grams is hardly impressive if you loose a wheel during endurance...

What's surprising is how relevant this advice is for professional motorsport teams. Especially in the case of departments with a large fraction of engineers having just graduated from Formula Student

Great video. The sheer honesty and truthfulness of what is shared will benefit any team. It's clear that Claude wants students to learn, improve and be successful. Not just now burr in the future.
Thank you Claude for taking the time to film this video. ✌😁
