From all the comparison videos I've seen (which will likely include this one), I'd say the PS4, but I know the mod is still being worked on. I think the biggest thing right now is to match the PS4's lighting on Peter's face in pretty much any scene he's in. Other smaller details can come later.
Currently, the PS4 one, it just looks more cinematic lots of detail too.
Definitely PS4. Some of the scenes look very odd & out of place on PC. I know it's a mod, but still, you know? The PS5 face did grow on my overtime & I personally like it better than the PS4 one.
Both are way better than the official new face. It's off.
Sad that they are carrying it forward to part 2. Story trailer just released today.

PS4 original face is always gonna be the best. It's so much more expressive than the new one. So much more intense emotions. But the new face... that bootleg Tom Holland looking face. It looks so plastic.
They 100% made his new face look closer to Tom Holland. It was no doubt an executive decision at Sony in order to drive sales amongst casual gamers.

Don't you love how every time they make a Remaster they absolutely GUT the lighting engine? Every single time.
So bizzare, guess darkness is apparently unrealistic, just like swapping someones face out to appeal to the crowd of pansies that think 23 year olds look like 17 year olds.
I know right. Every time a remaster of any game occurs, no matter the amount of improvements they make, somehow they absolutely trash the Lighting.

They’re probably going to have to rework the default suit if they are planning to fix the clipping issue at the neck, and the moment Peter puts on or takes off the mask and the hair sticks through the mask. Maybe mod a brand new body mesh into the game specifically to fit with this face model, or put more PS4 data back in there, perhaps?
They can fix it in time because the hair is seperate from the head model it dispears when not shown on camera in the original and I would assume the Ben Jordan model
Although the model of the face should be polished more, bring the ps4 lighting and other tweaks, I am happy that this mod exists and is being developed, and that it manages to bring back the real Peter Parker
Even this imperfect mod is much better than the remastered face. I'm confident they will improve it further later on.
The remastered face can only do positive emotions well and Yuri Lowenthal's voice also feels odd with new face. To me at least.

PS4 is still better in every way. But i'm happy they are making an effort to bring the real Peter Parker face back.
I think one of important problems of pc/ps5 remaster, however strange it wasn't, is lighting and shadows in cut-scenes. In ps4 it was staged cinematic, it worked for the drama and feelings. And I can't completely accept ps5 remaster. It doesn't touching me so much as ps4.

This mod saved the game for me. Not that I don’t like the game . The game is awesome but the face change was a step back. That’s why I liked the ps4 version more.

Waiting for Spider-Man 2 to come on PC so I can mod the face to the PS4 model as well.
Lighting shouldn’t always be natural. Lighting is a tool to increase drama and emotion. Making realistic lighting doesn’t always have a better effect.

I really hope this has a chance of coming to the inevitable PC version of SM2. I'll buy the PS5 version to get in on it when it drops but a face mod for the PC version would alone sell me on it.
Peters new face in spider ma man 2 looks way better than in the remastered version. The made him look older and a bit wider in face. Still prefer the old one but at least it’s an upgrade

It's shameless and disgusting. They couldn't handle a real adult face and chose to change it to a faker version young audiences are more accustom toward. This speaks volumes more than just a game.
It's amazing how a "remaster" of a game can straight up have worse graphics and lighting than the original. And that's not even bringing up the terrible changed face model
Problem with the mod is that it's clearly using animations and deformations meant for Jordan's face. It looks weird and sometimes uncanny valley creeps in. It would be crazy if someone could transfer all the face data from PS4 version to the PC version along with updated materials like with the rest of the characters.
It also has Ben Jordan's body model.

The remaster itself takes away a lot of the good lighting the original had, I believe that’s why they used the other face, to match the graphical upgrade, of course it still makes no sense to take away the good lighting and right after give a new face, but alas, if they used the new face for just the remaster and not the main series, then that’s re-assuring, that theory doesn’t work with the Miles Morales game, but I hope that they bring back the original face for the next game, ESPECIALLY if this new one is gonna be a lot meaner, there’s no reason to keep the new kid face for a game that’s meant to have an older grumpier Peter
Like, imagine they replaced Tom Holland for no good reason. Everyone would freak out. The new guy looks fine it's just, I don't understand why they changed him. It just, doesn't feel like, him.
Love all the suit mods but THIS mod is the one im most interesting in seeing develop. Its ok now but we really need the modding scene to keep working on it til its perfect. So many talented people out there. I know they can do it given time

I played Spider-Man 2 first. Got Spider-Man 1 recently , just learned about the face change recently. I prefer the PS4 face, even after playing 2 first
it's getting there but still lots of issues, but this looks way better than it did when the mod first came out !
I hope they make one for the miles morales if it's even possible.

Pc remaster face looks like great and it's remastered so it's nice that's what PS5 Peter Parker should have been

the mod is good i guess but i see the issue with lighting as it is clearly seen the ps4 version or the og version look much better image quality wise also has natural lighting done properly no excess or shortage in any scene plus the emotion the brusies the sweat the tears looks more natural.

In 4:25 PS4 John's Peter looks dissapointed while Steam MOD John's Peter looks awkwardly sad with his mouth slightly closed. Like that idea!

I noticed that the PS4 version looks better in some moments, although the face is the same. Sony changed the light and removed the blur, which makes the Remaster look less cinematic

I just play the ps4 version. This game looks absolutely gorgeous on ps4. And you have the benefits on ps5 with better resolution, like on the ps4 pro.

И ещё, было бы лучше если вернули графику с оригинала. Не только лицо. Да, освещение и текстуры потянули, но смотрев тени кат-сценах и поты лицах и даже отражение, мне больше зашло оригинал. Да и момент спасение тёти, у него был выбор и когда он начал выбрать тётю, у него видно лицо покрытый тенью, символизируя о неправильный решени, но на этот раз он поступил правильно, но потерял близкого. Хе, вот же ирония. Не сделал правильно, потерял дядю, сделал правильно, потерял тётю.
Ага, момент с тëтей вообще потерян в ремастере, освищение в оригинале темное, а в ремастере не то

No there's definitely worse, but this is up there as one of the most needless since you can still play the PS4 game on PS5

The new lighting looks pretty good at a lot of points in the remaster, but there's a huge artistic deficit in the subdued approach in these closing scenes. Really striking and evocative and memorable imagery replaced with something just... basically adequate, and unremarkable.

Is the PC footage running with the highest settings? It most of the time looks worse than the original. Mainly how blurry it is
cause it was done by enthusiasts, not by professionals. If you take that into account, the result of the work they did is fascinating!
@@Vermiandr if you are talking about the face then yes you are right. I'm not really talking about the face. I just notice that maybe the PC footage is at lower settings than PS4 giving the PS4 version a bit of an unfair advantage

Why the PS4's face models look more realistic than Spider Man 2 PS5's Face Models, I see no change in graphics except them putting some ray tracing elements in the environment, for a 5 year gap in between it's not impressive,
John Bubniaks Face Model matches Perfectly with Yuri's Voice, I know Ben's Face matches his Voice as well, but I'm not happy with this replacement seriously.
There's a saying which goes something like this " Never change something which was already Perfect ".
Exactly. The only issue if you can necessarily call it one, is John Bubniak looking a bit more refined than his 3D model, but it's still the only way I prefer it. Only issue I had was his hair being super over the top long which was barely in issue at all. First game was a masterpiece, they will never meet that grandeur again, and they have failed to monopolize and waste away another beautiful game. Maybe they need more LGBTQ flags, that always works.
