To celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop, we went on the search for the 🔥🔥hip hop artist in SA. From thousands of hopefuls, only 1 was left standing - crowned the winner - Chaise Williams.
Chaise Williams, a dynamic SA entertainer, embodies the mantra ‘artist first, human second’. His journey began with dancing on local & international stages as a child, eventually expanding into music production in 2016. Known for his genre-blending sound, Chaise's music is a groovy mix of hip-hop, trap, & pop, all infused with his unique Capetonian flavor.
His breakout single “Brand New Me” in 2020, with its pop art-inspired music video, showcased his versatile talent & creativity. Chaise’s lyrical prowess & unpredictable delivery, as seen in tracks like “Nah Nah Nah,” highlight his capability to effortlessly switch between styles.
With accolades such as a #1 single on Good Hope FM’s Hit 30 chart & headlining spots at major events like Red Bull BC One & Cape Town’s Most Wanted, Chaise Williams is poised to become one of South Africa’s most influential & beloved rappers.
2023 was a standout year for Chaise: he collaborated with Xavier Haupt on hits like “Me & My Henny” & “Again & Again,” & performed on SABC 3’s Expresso morning show to rave reviews. His win in the sportscene Put Me On competition, a collaboration with PUMA, included workshops, studio sessions, & performance rehearsals with industry leaders. The victory earned him a recording deal, R100 000 cash & more!
